Grandma Will Care For You

North Carolina, United States

In 1969, a woman lived with her daughter and her grandchildren. She was known to tell stories that could keep you on the edge of your seat, or shed tears for a sweet love story. She became sick with thyroid fever suffered until she finally stop breathing. Her family was devastated. Even the 4 year old little girl missed her grandmother.

A couple of months later, the little girl grew happier. Her mother wandered into the little girls room to find the little girl sitting on the bed, talking to the rocking chair that slowly rocked and she looked up smiling.

“Do you see her mama?” she questioned. The family left to move to Florida later because her mother feared what the house was doing to her daughter.

Thirty years later, the little girl became a mother, she came back to that old house and still felt the same comforting feeling. She decided to build a two story house next to it. In the great room of that old house, the wood around the fireplace feels warm to the touch, like it was burning wood recently. If you stand near the windows on the outside the blinds are bent slightly like someone is watching you. Then when you look away and suddenly look back, the blinds are straight. The grandmother’s spirit must still reside in that house to this day, watching over it.

Westwind Intermediate School

Arizona, Phoenix, United States

There is a haunted school named Westwind Intermediate in Phoenix. One day two girls got into a fight in the girl’s bathroom and one of the girls was stabbed. The other girl never got caught because she cleaned up the blood and buried the body in front of the school. Whenever somebody walks in the bathroom you can see the bathroom doors shaking. Some girls say that when they go into the school, they can hear the murdered student screaming.

New Year’s Ghost

Finland, Tampere

There is an abandoned house in Ryydynpohja which is haunted. Every year at
midnight on new years eve you can see the lights go on in the upstairs. They are on about ten seconds and then they go off. The shadown of this haunted, yellow house has extended across the street where an empty house has remained empty for years. It seems that any potential buyers have been scared off by the New Year’s Ghost.

Part of the Family

Massachusetts, United States, Wayland

In a story dating back to 1973, a very old house on 91 Old Sudbury Rd, Wayland MA, was reported to be haunted. The house was originally built in late 17th or early 18th century. The house’s biggest claim to fame was that Lydia Maria Child lived out here final years there. (She was the poet who wrote “over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house we go”). Over the years other rooms and pieces were added to the house. The owners of the house reported that half of the house felt cold and extremely frightening (the living room, family room, front hall, and screen porch). The other half also felt inhabited but by a warm and comforting presence.

The children were in the dining room one day. There was a door that was always kept open that led to the front hall. In a modern house such a door would probably seem out-of-place as openings from one common room to another are usually doorless, however, in this house there was a door between the two rooms. Suddenly this door opened then violently slammed closed. This happened about four or five times. Then, as if two invisible people were fighting, the door slammed back in forth very fast for about 10 or 15 seconds.

Thing of this sort, as the family tells it, happened so often that they became regular. Strangely enough, one of the children later reported that when he moved out of that house, he always felt his new dwellings empty without his family ghost.

Bourbon House

Cleveland, Ohio, United States

In 1985 Cleveland resident lived in this in the house for 3 years and saw, as well as heard and felt many spooky things. Her young son actually had conversations with on of the ghosts, who, as they found out later, was the man who built the house. There is nothing weird about the history of the house other than it stayed in the same family from the time it was built untill it was bought by this resident. The builder, his wife, their daughter and her husband all died in the house of age/health-related problems. Incidentally, it is located right down the street from Franklin Castle, a notorious Cleveland home!

Leave Me Alone!

Indiana, Muncie, United States

There is a historical building where a women, who was pregnant, lived with her husband. Her husband was abusive and beat her hard and often. One day she stood in the middle of the drive and slit one wrist. Before she died she said “Jeff, leave me alone!” Right down the road is a tree that hangs over the road and once in a while you’ll see her and her little baby happy on the limb.
