hi i visted borley rectory church last night and when we went to see the rectory we realised that there is security there now does anyone know why????????

More than likely, the security is to prevent ‘ghost hunters’ from disturbing the grounds or the church, also the private residents that are now there.
This is one of the most historic ‘ghost’ stories in England and of course it has drawn a lot of attention. I’ve always wanted to visit to see if I could pick up on any of the messages given or maybe even be shown some of the other secrets this place must have.

With the old building now gone, this will be much more difficult for future investigations, although that’s not to say that research can’t be carried out.

I’m sure that one day the secrets will be revealed.

I know this story! Or at least I think I know. Forgive me my bad grammar.
I read about this place as a child and loved it. There was a ghost of a nun, who put her face in the window from time to time. Finally some scientist or something (after the great fire) found a jaw of a young women, and after it was beried or something (I read this story 10 years ago) the nun came no more.

hi ya i visited Borley rectory on saturday night with some friends and i have to say that it is weird the rectory was a bit of a let down and nuns walk is very hard to find as well and security is quite high but, i definatly say goi to the church me and my friends both witnessed white mists appering and we also heard footsteps on the gravel outside the church and round the back of the church we witnessed strange nouses and what sounded like siging. I definatly say worth a visit but, you cant mess around as this site will take your breath away!

Hi there, I am trying to put together a mini project about Borley and the ghostly history that surrounds it, would anyone say that its worth going for a visit? I have taken part in lots of ghost hunts but this story/location has been of interest to me since I was v.little. What do you think my chances of actually getting any result either by film, photo, or audio might be? Anyone revealed anything exciting from a previous visit? How tight is the security?….One

well, i have heard of that kind of thing before, but the organ music is a new twist. i think i like that.

I’ve seen that place on t.v. I think I saw it on “Most Haunted” or something. Man that place is in bad shape. It would be cool if I went there myself.

ive been to borley rectory many times, i had stones thrown at me, i have pictures of the grounds keeper, amos’s face in a tree. also i scratched on the church door and heard scratching back from the inside. aswell it sounded as if furniture was being moved inside the church although it was 2am!
i went to the summer house and nuns walk too, at the site of the summer house things were thrown and bushes moved when we called out. on the nuns walk the tire swing at one end was swinging, there was no wind and there was a figure of a tall woman stood by it, think it may have been sister mary lara. we all also heard a woman telling us to leave.
very scary and i wouldnt ever go back now after my car was hit by a flying object, it left a dent in the back door the shape of a hand!
i didnt provoke any unwanted attention but my friend did use bad language and said that it was all aload of s**t and thats when the thing hit my car!
i wouldnt advice swearing in the church yard or surrounding area!

i have been to borley a few times now and it does not put the wind up me but church street in bocking braintree does i live near there and when you walk alog church street you feel some one behind you i have done this many times
