Abandoned House
It is said that whoever lives in this house is savagely murdered by something unknown. After two people were found dead in the 1960s, the house stayed empty until the late 1980s when it was occupied by a cult. Two years later, flashing lights were seen coming from the house; police found eight decapitated bodies. It is said that if one goes to the site, there will be eight ghosts that will carry on conversations with one another. It is also said that the shadow of a body may been seen in a tree near the house.

Mooney’s Mansion is the house located at 259 Walhalla Road, closer to Indianola than High.Just to let everyone know you wont be able to take any pictures of Mooney Mansion since its behind a wooden fence i was just there to see if i could get a picture of the house and i wouldn’t take one since the Mansion still has a family living there. Please be respectful for those who continue to living in the Mansion .Enjoy Everyone by the way the Mooney Mansion is located on one heck of a one way street .

I grew up in Columbus, and I remember the stories that I heard of the “Moody House” but I was told it was “House on Haunted Hill” I heard the same that a man murderd his wife and he hung himself at abridge near the foot of the hill were a rope was still their when you go threw it, I did see that. but I never got to go during Halloween to see the rest a statue appears in the front entrance full of blood every Halloween at midnight. That was in the ’70s also when I was in middle school.

Can you do more at this place than look in the windows? I want a tour with scary people inside, etc. Is there an admission charge for us to go in, or do you just go look at the house from the outside?

Ok People, Sorry to burst your bubble, the house on N. High Street is not abandoned. The supposed blood stains on the floor is an area rug. You have now SPOOKED the current owners. So, if you like riding in Police cars and spending your hard earned money on legal fees…….
The current owners of this historical house deserve the right to feel as SAFE in their house as you do in yours.
