I have been there before and yes it is haunted! Ever since they built Aquia Harbor there has been stuff that i have documented and com to find out there was a witches creek behind where Aquia Harbor is now and they released a **** load of spiritual beings out. So therefor it is haunted. Have full body apparitions on photo/camera and have shadow people on film!

The woman who was killed was my great-great grandmother. I still live in the area. It is true, you can see her face in the window. I heard a story that she was raped and hanged because she was a woman and she tried to become a business owner. That was obviously before they had women’s sufferage.

I attended church there growing up. Going up the stairs to the bell tower there are names carved in the wall of the soldiers that the lady hid there. I have felt and seen very strange things there. Not to mention the cemetary that is right next to it.

Elisabeth says:

October 14, 2006, 11:15 pm

When my brother was younger, he would see things in the cemetary, and feel very uneasy. He would see black shadows race through the cemetary, it wasn’t til’ years later that we found out it was actually haunted.

I haven’t been to this site, but have do any of you know about the house near the Geico Building in Stafford? I know its not alot of detail, but for those that have been there, you know what i’m talking about. Abandoned white farm house just off the main highway on orchard something road i think? You drive up to the house and sometimes there is a blue orb on the 2nd level, seem to only see it from the road though, been inside, from the basement up to the attic. I know there was an old lady who used to live there, possibly a young boy, most everything is dated back in 1930, and I believe there is something about a murdered judge there too. I wish I could give more detail, but thats all I know. It sits out in a lonely field. I’ve gone up there with numerous people, All scared outta there minds, took some cop buddies up there, they too were freaked out. Very bad vibes up there. Anyways, if you have any info on it, feel free to contact me, mike_27_va@yahoo.com

I’d like to know more about this place.

You are speaking of the old mills place that backs up to peachtree lane. My grandfather was a farmer in the early 1900’s and used to farm the mills land. Mrs mills was a phlibotomist who took her work a little too far…she killed her husband and bathed in his blood. She never was right after he accidentally killed their son about 6 years prior in a farming accident. You can find more information of

Maybe somebody can get this spook to come over and scare the traffic on I-95 into moving again? Traffic and spooks both like to linger on and on and on even after the incident is long gone.

I have been to this church at night. We walked through the grave yard and did see something in the window. There was a whole group of us and everyone saw it. Those who say it’s not haunted, go check it out in the middle of the night by yourself.

Im actually a member of this church, and I have heard the stories of the woman who was murdered in the attic. I hav been up there and its not too creepy but all the origional wood is still there and there is no blood. An oner woman has sead she saw the ghost, but she has bad vision, and also the EYC (young christion club thing) where telling stories in the grave yard and someone sead they saw a lady in white floating. there is also a place called witches pond. there was a man who killed his family by tieng them in the car and pushing it into the pond, also there is a sacrafice table that is from the 1700 and people and animals have dies on it. also there are animal carcases hanging from chains from trees, and they are alase fresh, even though the man died 20 years ago. people say there is a lady that can be frequently spotted walking around the woods. and if you think this is a load of bull, go chechk it out foryourself on telegraph road, its the first dirt road on the right, but its gaited so you have to park in the development that is close to it and haul a$$ to the road or people call the police

About 20 years ago, when I was in the Marines, a group of me and my frineds decided to go out there late afternoon/early evening. It was generally creepy, but we *did* go there looking (hoping) to see something. The graveyard is right next to the church. When we got there, the door was open to the church and there was an older gentleman standing just outside. We told him we were not there to cause a disturbance, we would just like permission to look around the grounds. He didn’t mind and seemed pretty pleasant. My friend stayed and talked to him for a bit – maybe thirty minutes or so – about the history of the area, the church and things of that nature. I remember walking into the church and the only thing that really sticks with my memory is how mellow the lighting was inside and how it didn’t seem to jive with the feeling when all the hair stands up on your arms and the back of your neck waiting for something to happen. You just had an eerie feeling the whole time you were there. We looked around the graveyard while my friend was talking to this gentleman, took pictures (nothing turned out really – a couple of pictures seemed foggy or wispy, but we had smokers in our group so we dismissed it), and tried to scare each other. We heard noises in the woods, and there seemed to be movement that was always just out of the corner of your eye. Creepy. We wrapped it up and walked back to the church where we had parked our car. We thanked the gentleman for allowing us this time there, and left.

The next day, my frined decided to call the church and thank the gentleman (caretaker?) and ask if he might come back for another visit. The woman who answered the phone told us that not only was no one there the night before and that no one of that description worked for the church, but that the church was locked and unattended the previous evening. My friend was insistant and the woman got pretty bent out of shape. She apparently thought it was a prank phone call and hung up on my friend. We have no idea who he talked to. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to go back. Twenty years later, I still would like to take a trip back there. I like about 30 minutes from the area. If I get the chance, I’ll be sure to post to let you know what I find, if anything.

I used to cut the grass and the whole cemetary is full of ground bee’s. They freakin chase you and sting the hell outta ya. I also ran from the police one night and drank beer on a grave up there and felt some weird stuff but really more scared of the law than ghosts.

I live in Aquia Harbour, and was baptised at that church. So many people have told me it’s haunted and I believe them. It’s also stupid how people that don’t even live here, say it’s not true, cause they don’t know anything bout it. I have friends who have pictures of ghosts in their house. I’ve been going to that church my whole life, and have been there at night with friends, and have been up in that attick, its not scary, but also pretty interesting.

On December 2, 2006 my friend and I took my daughter, her daughter and 2 other girls to Baltimore MD for a cheering competition. We stayed at the Days Inn (we had stayed there 1 time before and after this trip we have stayed there one other time). This particular night my friend and her daughter had a disagreement; such as teenagers often do with their parents. Anyway, we all laid down around 3 a.m. (3 girls in one bed and Liz and I and one other girl in our bed).
I had not fallen asleep because of all the commotion earlier. This room had the sink and mirror outside the toilet area. After laying there for a little while I glanced that way and I saw a small child combing her hair, it was so vivid! I actually thought it was Caroline and started to call her name out. Caroline did not answer me back, so I told Liz (beside me in the bed) that I thought she was getting sick because I saw her bend down holding her stomach and she seemed to sit on the floor. I didn’t want to wake the other girl up who was next to me (I was in the middle) so I told Liz that I needed to get from under the covers to go help Caroline because she must be sick and just sat on the floor. I got up and walked over to the corner where I thought she had sat and there was nothing there, but the deposit box. I was so startled that I could barely move. I kept saying, am I crazy, why would I call out Caroline’s name twice if I didn’t see her and I actually got up to help her back into the bed. I looked over at the other bed and there lay my daughter, Caroline in the middle, and Liz’s daugher – all asleep. I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS EXPERIENCE. IT WAS DEFINITELY AN APPRITION. UNTIL YOU, YOURSELF HAVE EXPERIENCED SOMETHING YOU CANNOT EXPLAIN OR PROVE one will always be skeptical. I never doubted there were ghosts, but I had never seen or experienced anything that was beyond the living – NOW I HAVE.

Hi. I go to this church almost every sunday, go to all of the events, babysit, and I know quite a lot about it. I agree that the graveyard is spooky, but I haven’t had any paranormal experiences there. My sister and I actually were talking about going there one night and investigating. I know all of the people that would allow us in, so I don’t think it would be a problem. I will post details if there are any.

Also, a lady that is very involved with the church, who would know about these things, I asked about the ghost stories, and she said “Let’s talk about that later”, like there was something to tell.

Thanks!

Just want to say that I’ve lived in the fburg stafford area my whole life; the church is mysterious and beautiful. I’ve fequently visit the church just to experiance the overwhelming feeling of supernatural presences. one instance, two friends and i were visiting and taking pics, while we were there we didnt see anything, but when we got back home and looked at the pics there was a light in the lower left window resembling a floating candle. It was a pretty chilling feeling. I think the aquia church is one of the most thrilling place to visit even by yourself, which ive done several times. This church deserves more credit to its past and it lingering spirits. Visit any chance you get and I propmise everytime you go you will exeriance a deeper understanding for everything natural and paranormal.

I live near this church, and I have gone there on many occasions ghosthunting. The stories behind a death are true, but anything dealing with the supernatural are completely false. You do not get any creepy feelings, nor have my friends and I caught any evidence with any of our equpiment. It’s a cool cemetary and church but honestly that’s about all.

I live about 2 miles from the church on Courtthouse Road in Stafford,I’ve been there a few times with nothing happening.About a mile an a half behind it & Aquia Harbour there is an old grave yard that no one has been buried in since the 1500-1700(dates on graves there)you get an odd feeling when your there,as though your being watched. There are graves that have been dug up or the stones toppled over,it’s very old and some what scary at times. My daughter tried to get Stafford to take an intrest in cleaning it up,but they just didn’t care. It’s far back in the woods and it has an earrie and scary feeling to it,the only thing you hear is the birds and sometimes you don’t even hear that.ive seen things jumpfrom the sides of my eye’s there but then again you ask yourself did you see something or did you not.The grounds are surrounded with a small purple flower and it’s beautiful in the spring-but it is an unsettling place.

I’m a grown man and also proud to be white, but learn to appreciate the world you live in, if you do’nt like society and the way this world treats each of you then move to CUBA. Take this maturely and study what you do’nt know, and thats how to talk properly!!!

I LIVE 5 MILES FROM THIS CHURCH. I HAVE LIVED HERE ALL MY LIFE 50 YEARS. I WENT TO CHURCH AND SUNDAY SCHOOL HERE AS A CHILD. BOTH MY SISTERS AND MYSELF WERE MARRIED IN THIS CHURCH.I HAVE SEVERAL RELATIVES BURIED THERE INCLUDIND GRAND PARENTS. THIS PLACE IS SO SCARY MY PARENTS GAVE ME THIER CEMETARY PLOTS AND THEY DECIDED TO BE BURIED AT QUANTICO. LIKE I WANT THEM, NO THANKS, I DONT WANT TO BE THERE EVEN DEAD.THERE ARE SO MANY STORIES WHO KNOWS WHAT TO BELIEVE, ALL I CAN SAY IS YOU GET VERY UNEASY AROUND AND IN IT, SOMETHING JUST IS NOT RIGHT. YOU EXPECT TO SEE SOMETHING AT ANY TIME. A 1/2 MILE AWAY ON RT 1 IS A CRUCIFIXTION OF CHRIST. WHY IS IT THERE? JUST TO THE RIGHT BACK OFF THE ROAD IS WITCHES CREEK BACK IN THE WOODS. THERE IS AN OLD STONE TABLE THERE BELIEVED TO BE A SACRIFICIAL TABLE AND THATS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.THIS IS BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN THERE SINCE THE 1600`S WHEN STAFFORD WAS FIRST SETTLED. WITH ALL THE SUFFERING OF THAT ERA PLUS THE STORIES OF WAR AROUND THE CHURCH THERE WAS A LOT OF EVIL IN THAT STRETCH OF AREA. ALL ON THE CHURCH AND GROUNDS WERE NAMES ETCHED IN STONE OF SOLDIERS FROM THE WAR. THERE HAD TO BE ALOT OF THINGS GOING ON, WHAT A GOOD PLACE TO PUT UP A STATUE OF JESUS ON THE CROSS TO BLESS THIS AREA OF TERRIBLE THINGS. I KNOW AS KIDS WE DID A LOT OF CRAZY THINGS, DARING EACH OTHER TO SPEND NIGHTS SLEEPING IN GRAVEYARDS OR RUNNING IN A DARK CHURCH AT NIGHT WHILE OTHERS WAITED OUTSIDE. NO ONE HOWEVER WOULD EVER STAY IN AQUIA CHURCH OR SLEEP AT WITCHES CREEK NO WAY.

But not enough to keep us away the following week, we came back to check out the cemetary where our great grandparents were buried. Has anyone been to witches pond and old Brents Cementary? And sat in the Witches Circle? It’s fascinating!

I think she’s a nice spirit.
I dnt feel any negative moods up there.

And for the person saying that the woman murdered up there was his great great grandma. that’s bull. she was an orphan. who got hung. or at least that’s what stories say.

In response to “Anna” The story of Silverthorn Creek is that of mysterious winds that blow really hard in and around this creek. There is a housing development now on Silverthorn Court, located off of Eustace RD near the HH Poole Middle School, The story of “Witches Pond” is located off of Telegraph Rd almost directly in back of Taylor’s Grocery. The road to it is gated and the landowner has a big gun, so don’t go there. Look it up on Google Earth

Moved to Garrisonville in 88 when I was 10. We use to go to Aquia Towncenter almost every weekend, we all heard the stories, but other than being VERY CREEPY at night, also with the cementary right tnext to it, Its more of an Stafford county urban legend.

The Moose Lodge in Stafford VA is said to be haunted by many spirits. My Uncle Toby helps out there and spent the night one night to help get ready for a party the next day. All night he said he saw men talking to him and trying to help him. At the party the next day he was so scared he didn’t want to even talk about it. My father who also helps out there (my Mom is also their former bartender) saw the bar stools there keep getting moved and fall over. By day it is a good resturaunt/ bar that allows members only to buy things, but by night it is riveting with the spirits that have not yet passed.

While in High-school in Stafford Co.,
My friends & I could not help but be subjected to rumors & legends. And, hearsay, if you will.
Why wouldn’t you be curious about a ‘real’ ghost?
So,
at midnight, on Halloween,
we crept up there, to that church.
It was perfect. Dark and misty. We began to recognize the dates on the tombstones-
some as early as the late 1700’s.
We began to feel like we shouldn’t go on, but none of us would quit! Then,
suddenly-
(As we were giggling to each other comforted),
we tripped over a freshly dug grave.
Frozen for a brief moment, all our eyes locked.
Only to chuckle again, until-
That familiar sound!!! SIRENS!!! The police!!!! We scattered, our night was cut short.
We got away with a story, but the Ghost …
She was more illusive. :

Have any of you heard of the lemon cake ghost? I know it sounds silly but sightings of this male ghost eating his lemon cake in the strangest, already known to be haunted places have gone through the roof. He is reported to have been murdered while eating his cake and died in a rage over not finishing it.

Damon – Omg I can’t believe your post. A friend of mine told me it was here and I didn’t believe him. We’ve been watching this section since our encounter and you’re talking about Zumi!!! People are calling him the lemon cake ghost. We looked into it and sure enough there is record of a mentally challenged young man being murdered by his older brother Lemont while he was eating lemon cake. This is so sad, wonder how old he was and what caused the act. He is either angry or very confused about never finishing that cake- can you imagine going through eternity with only one thing consuming you… Lemon cake??? We all hope poor Zumi finds his peace some day soon!! RIP Zumi!

Church full other day good to see people but no one would talk to me so kind of sad. I even offer some of my cake to little girl but she must be scared of me she say nothing or even look at me.
