I was in Ardmore about 14 years ago, believe me that place is not haunted. Dude they babied you in there. Unless someone had a real dislike for graham crackers and apple juice or donuts every night for snacks i can not see any reason why someone would want to haunt that place. The place was like a resort as far as how they took care of you!

I was was inside the Ardmore center years ago. The front of the building was a really old house and there was a room with all kinds of patient records and paperwork. I still have a book I found that has a list of patients that were there. Closer to the road was a small brick home that we also explored. Unfortunatly it is now torn down and they have built homes there. I am not sure if it was haunted or not. I can only say that the second time I went there we left immediatly because I had a horrible feeling. We never had anything weird happen the first time. There was one really cool room we found that had a two way mirror for observation.
There are appareantly a lot of places to explore in Ypsilanti. Not sure if they are haunted but they are old abandoned buildings. Just an fyi to anyone that likes to explore….in order to get in trouble for trespassing there has to be no trespassing signs every 20 feet. Otherwise that cannot prosecute you because they cannot prove that you saw the one sign they had posted.

Sonny~ About 14 years ago was the beginning of the Mental Health movement. They began to give patients rights, and see Mental health patients as people. BUT, before the 80′s, it was a totally different story. People were experiments. Medications were experimented on them, not to mention crazy procedures. So be THANKFUL you got graham crackers and not a lobotomy. Many poor souls have many, many reasons to be stuck in the horrible places most institutions were. Although, with the institutions closed, there really are no places for the many people that still need help to go. So for a lot of them, our prison systems have taken the place of an institution. But, I could go on and on………………

It was last week, I seen this old lady in my room, but she was’nt any ordinary old lady. she was a ghost. her hair was very lite brown and she wore a long dress. what she did was she looked at me and started singing a sweet melody that sounded very old. I have heard that song once before when I was in my room as a small child in my old home. and it sounded like the same voice too. I was very scared and from that night on I cannot sleep in my room. I don’t even go in it anymore, because I am afraid to hear that song again.

Ardmore was replaced with a subdivision of houses. I have heard stories of the houses being haunted now, because of being built on the land Ardmore was.

If you are looking for a real scare I would suggest look at a old place some where near easterner part of Michigan, it was an old a Asylum for the Insane. I was a nonbeliever. Somewhere around the middle of summer me and my friends found this place back behind some woods we decided to figure out what it was we looked on line for information and found that it used to be an Asylum. We when back later at night broke in through the back window, once inside there are a big room followed by many smaller rooms and a staircase. We walked around for a little and found little graffiti. We walked up the stars in to the upper floor and managed to find our selves in a medium sized room with plastic tables and a drain on the floor, know that it was used to torture or something of that sort. As we walked out to leave, one of the plastic tables flipped over and we all ran to the door but was locked. We stared panic we yelled out only to find a young man with a nightgown in front of us. He ran towards us and vanished, just then my friend had opened the door and we ran out. My friend said that he must have drooped his keys because they weren’t in his pocket anymore so him and a few others when inside and I stayed out side to wash for cops. When someone screamed I ran back inside the building to where we just where and my friend we hanging out the window wile the others where pulling him back in. my good friend was forced to go into a hospital for insanity after that. I was later told that the man that ran to us but vanished had happened aging but had ran into my friend he then tried to jump out one of the broken windows.
I would suggest that if anyone goes back to be vary carefully. I am 30 now and I will never go back.

One time when I was visiting the Ardmore center, I took a dump in the hallway that led to the gym. On a later visit, I took another one on the roof and revisited my old **** in the gym hall. It was all white and fossilized. It looked very ghostly and I could feel a strange energy radiating from this long forgotten poop. I had to get away. It was too scary. I think it resembled a former patient from long ago, forever lost in the abyss of time.

I use to live right across the street form this place, could look outside my bedroom window and see it, about 7 yrs ago.icould hear all of the high schoolers getting ready to go in there when they parked next to my house.it was the last day of 8th grade when my buddies and I decided to go and check it out in the middle of the day and it was still freaky.90 degree day and inside the builing you could see your breath. we first saw alot of old things..a smashed piano and grafitti.it smelt horrible in there. a long narrow hallway led to a set of stairs going up. on the second floor there were padded rooms with the heavy metal doors pulled off, and thats as far as we made it that time!we heard footsteps and took off! another time it was just two of us, we jumped a fence closest to the road in the front when we approached the boarded up window someone or somethiing pounded on the board like it was trying to get out, scary as hell.it was on farmington rd 48152, where the new condos are. i believe a fire had started in the back and then the decision was made to tear it down. for real..haunted..never been so freaked out!

No, Folks, this is not the former Clinton Valley site ! CVC aka “The Pontiac State Hospital” was located in Pontiac and was foolishly torn down by The State about 10 years ago. My Aunt Leona worked there as a secretary to the head psychologist back in about the 1930′s or 1940′s. I don’t recall the exact year. She never reported any ghostly activity there. However, she was the governess at The Dodge Estate in Rochester, and did report that place as badly haunted. An old friend of mine was a security guard at The Dodge Estate, and reported lots of odd stuff.

Any way, Clinton Valley had lots of underground tunnels. The tunnels were constructed to make transport of food and patients and staff easier, especially during bad weather. I wonder if they were destroyed during demolition ?
