i agree with Jackie, plus i believe this episode as appeared in the movie urban legends, the actor that is hanging from the tree, is the guy from Dawson’s Creek

Yeah definately,
This is an urban legend, one of those, it happened to a friend of mine kinda things. It’s like the babysitter who gets a call from the upstairs bedroom of the house she’s sitting at, or the axe man hiding in the back seat of your car.

I have seen this story on TV in several movies…it is as fake as big foot. Who makes up these fake stories?? It spoils the chance of the others being real. Hey my house is haunted by the abominable snowman…. anyone believe me… he throws snow cones at me at 12 midnight everynight. Then when I go to sit down in my favorite chair it is all iced over. All I get on the TV is snowy movies….weird…. this is a true story….

Umm, where is Arlo Road? I’m from SI and will admit I don’t know every road on the Island, but I have no clue where this one was. PS: It’s not a common urban legend in SI, showing you the accuracy of this one!

This is indeed an urban legend. If you visit Snopes.com, you will find it in the horrors section. It’s similar to the story of a boyfriend’s and girlfriend’s near encounter with the crazed lunatic with a hook for a hand who escapes from a nearby asylum. The story states that they were alone in the woods in their car when they hear on the radio that an inmate had escaped from the nearby asylum. The inmate is said to be extremely dangerous and has a hook instead of a hand. The boyfriend tries to get intimate with her, but she feels uncomfortable and persuades him to drive her home. Upon their arrival at her house, they discover a bloody hook hanging from the car door’s handle. Like the story mentioned here, pure fantasy.

This story so comes out of a movie scene. I remember seeing it in this movie called campfire tales. A bunch of teens telling urban legends.

Ok, I see everyone thinks that this is an urban legend. Which could be true but at the same time most stories come from some sort of a fact it maybe something completely different but through the years it’s changed into something that no buddy believes actually happened. All I’m saying is don’t believe what people tell you is an urban legend was more then likely something that really happened it was just a different curcimstance. The facts are that we don’t know that any of the this stories on this site are real or not. It’s all how you the person reading prosives it. With that said, to the ones that said how can that be true he was hung by his neck. You should really pay attention. It says, “HIS THROAT WAS SLIT.” He could of been hanging by his feet. It wasn’t on the hood of the car either it was on the roof. Take what I said and everyone else said as you want. Urban Legend maybe, or maybe not. Who really knows.

By the way Mackenzie Highland Ave. T’s up with Arlo Road There are two cemetaries in the area. I find that kind of funny. Not trying to get smart with anyone just stating a fact

I grew up at 49 apt 1B Arlo Road (I’m 40), it is a bunch of apartments surrounding by really rich houses. It’s a f#cked up place. This legend has been around. The place it supposedly happened is behind 101 Arlo Road, down the driveway to the left next to a hundred and fifty year old cemetary. The cemetary is/was haunted by the “man in white” I never saw hiim, but as a kid, around dusk, you knew to get out of the cemetary. Someone would eventually yell the man in white and god forbid if you were the last one through the fence, you’d sh#t yourself. If you do an online search, you’ll see that a couple went missing in the summer of 78. We all thought it was son of sam but in the end, they never found her body. There are things out there. I know. When I was eighteen, I moved as far away as I could to California. One of my friends still lives there and he says that the hill has changed. Now there are college students living in the apartments from St. John’s University. Early last year, behind 111 Arlo, a girl went missing again. He says that he thinks the guy is back. If you are ever there, go in the day…it is a beautiful place. But don’t go at night, trust me, don’t go at night.

THIS STORY CAME OUT OF A BOOK. A CHILDREN’S HAUNTED STORIES BOOK. BTW ITS NOT THE FINGERS THAT WAS SCRAPING ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR. IT WAS THE BOY’S SHOES.
