Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

The Bailey House

Lowell, Michigan

In this house, it is said that a woman killed her entire family and then hanged herself in the basement. One group reports that when they were touring the house a boarded up window in the downstairs suddenly cracked when they were in the upstairs. It was said that a cool breeze followed them around the house. Throughout the house, the stains of blood began to appear. In the basement, it is said that a waterfall has formed over the side of the stairs. The house is abandoned, however, and thus all the utilities are disconnected.

Yep, this story has the most comments about it and reading through a few of them, my theory has been proven to me that people in Lowell are idiots.

all of you that have said this is haunted or you hear the bell or saw blood are full of ****. i was there last night, there are no girls in windows if you take a picture because all the windows are and have been boarded up except for the bottom right window street side where the boards have been ripped down. The blood on the walls and in the fridge are obviously fake because it is still red. if it were real it would be brown, thats what happens to blood. Plus if anything would have happened at this house it definatly would have been torn down after. there is no bell that rings, there is no lady that will scream at you. i have been there 6 or 7 times and its all just a joke, we go there and use it to scare other ppl. kids around here go in just to drink and be loud and break stuff, if you go late enough you can make all the noise you want. last night we went and knocked down a shed. if you want to go it is a fun time but the scariest thing about the hosue is when you first pull up and that is it.

Hi, Im Tyler Collins and my friend went in this house and came out with blood on his hands!!It was freakin scary as hell!!Then i went in there and there were alot of stains on the walls, blood stains. Then, when we left we stopped on the train tracks near it and the car stalled. Then we heard a train and didn’t know if it was on the tracks we were on, or the ones a few yards away. It looked like it was coming straight at us!! But it was on the other one.I’ve had nightmares of this place ever since… If you want my advice, dont go in the house. And don’t stop on the tracks!!

Hey, i’ve been the the Bailey house. It’s pretty creepy there but we haven’t been in yet. The first night we went my friend (who isn’t afraid of anything) started screaming and crying. For some odd reason she said she saw a little boy by the side of the house staring at us. It was creepy to have her that freaked, and when we went back she refused to go. That house has some sort of evil aura around it, it’s awesome….

Hey ppl, i’m really starting to wonder if this baily house is real, or if somebody has watched “The Grudge” one too many times, lol. But seriously, I want to know from someone older that’s been there cause its a lil far to drive for nothing, and if it’s all real, I’d like to be prepared. spirits tend to stick with me if I don’t know they’re there. If someone could give me an honest answere, I’d really appreciate it. thanx.

First of all i live right next to the baily house but be careful cause the people down the street put the no trespassing signs up and they wait for people to go to the house then they call the cops. If you go the best time is 2-4 am be out by 5 am cause that is a well traveled road out of Lowell. i’ve been in the house it is a little creepy but not bad, and half the time you here stuff there are usually other people exploring the house as you are. My friend and i went in there one night and heard something upstairs i went to look and it was another person exploring the house that was scarry as hell, but it is alot of fun to go through. Just watch your back Lowell cops are yoo know***.

I just wish that some people would look at the research that others have already done on this house. All this talk about it is really getting redundant and frankly wasting peoples time. Land records and census reports are facts. Stories are stories. If you go somewhere expecting to feel a certain way, it’s likely that you will. Power of suggestion.
You could take any old house anywhere and start telling your friends that it was haunted. Most don’t bother to fact check, then in ten years it’s some big story that has grown. And then people like myself go to do research on it find we have wasted our time and are a bit disappointed.
But hey, if people have to find something to waste their time on a weekend, they will do it.

What I phenomenally amazing is that you people STILL believe this ****. There is no haunted house in Lowell – Bailey St or otherwise. There was never a multiple homicide of this nature in Lowell. Don’t you think there would be a record of it in the local library? There is not. All the city records for Lowell are accessible to the general public. The poor woman died, and obviously the city did not do anything to the property, so you people are trespassing, and destroying private property.

I also see a pattern of “i seen dat” blah blah blah – sounds like a bunch of illiterate children. Learn punctuation, grammar, and check out a haunted school or something, because apparently, you need some education.

Stop taking a “creepy looking house” – which I must tell you – most abandoned houses look creepy – and glorifying it as haunted when it is not.

Jennifer – who has lived in Lowell/Rockford/Grand Rapids for more than 32 years. And the only actual haunted places known currently in this area are ALL in Ionia.

Jennifer is right. As you read through each person’s so called “experience” you have to wonder how old these kids are that keep posting. My Grandmother is from Lowell and knows nothing of the supposed homocides at this Bailey House. She is 74 and lived there her entire life!

O.K. my friends and I went to this house everynight for a week straight. The first night we brought me, my bro, two of his friends and another chick. One friend was too scared and stayed in the van. He swore he saw things running through the woods but it could have been animals. We went inside with a recorder. We went through the whole house top to bottom and every night we (my brother and I) brought different people. The first night we were all freaked out and didnt stay for very long but we saw the blood on the walls and in the bathroom and all the broken stuff. It was really creepy and we thought we kept hearing things, and we went running out of the house so fast we got the van stuck on the side of the road. While digging out the van we saw the girl in the window. The next night we went back with no other girl but me and everything was fine the blood on the walls was still red and dry so we figure it isn’t real. The blood in the bathroom, upon closer inspection was either puke or rotton eggs smeared on the wall. and the girl in the window is just a chair with something behind it. we tested that by having someone stand out side and look while we were in the room. They saw the “girl” and we movd the chair, and she disapeared. It was definatley the chair. The only time we ever got super freaked and “heard or saw” anything was when we brought someone who was Jumpy or freaking out thinking every shadow was a ghost. Although we about jumped out of our skin when our friend John disapeared right before our eyes.
but he just fell through the floor, and we were making so much noise we didn’t here him fall. So I would say as a true believer of ghosts, that this house is not haunted just really creepy. We also listened for the bell and found that it came from a neighbors wind chime.

I’m 22 and my brother is twenty and so are his friends. The house is only scary the first time you go and after that its just another abandoned house.

Matt Big says:

Me and 5 other friends went into this house and it will scare you but after the first time it loses its scare factor. The blood is completly fake but the house will still scare the **** out of you there is alot of scary things in there. i suggest that nobody plays the piano in there because my friend jd did and that scared me so bad. We really couldnt find the basement. Also, its not hard to get into all the door were open when we went in. GO THERE!!!

Maxwell Murder says:

I went there with Mr. Matt Big and JD. I, being a giant wuss, wouldn’t go in, but before long, Matt and JD had persuaded me into doing it. We went in and it was creepy. REALLY CREEPY. Other wise that I didn’t feel a “Cool Breeze” following me, or any bells a’ chiming! The one thing that had gotten Matt and I scared was one room, after you enter it’s the second room I believe to your left. The paint on the cieling had been peeling off all across the room, and all the rooms’ ceiling’s adjacent to it were fine. Not being a believer in ghosts or spirits, I was mostly scared of 2 things, hoboes and cops. We didn’t investigate the back yard, but if we ever go again, I’ll be sure to check it out. And as for the “blood” on the wall in the kitchen, it’s fake. Blood doesn’t turn pink after drying it goes into either a crimson or brown color. But if ya want a free adreniline rush, go there. I lived in Lowell for 8 years, and my uncle owns Ball’s ice cream on the main road. (yeah I know “Ball’s Ice Cream ha ha ha”…The truly ironic part of that is that his birst name is Harry) But yeah, it’s a fun place i’d prolly be willing to investigate again. If anyone has any police reports, could you please give me location as to where to find them? Thank You.
