Real Haunted House

Family Barn Murders

Mishawaka, Indiana

Over 200 hundred years ago, a family of seven lived in this barn. One brutal night, six of the family members were shot with muskets, while the seventh died, hiding in a closet. The family now haunts the house in the exact locations of the murders–the closet, the windowsill, and the doorway. In these places one may hear the screams and cries of young children. On the staircase, the third step has been broken for more than two hundred years; every attempt to fix it has failed.

Cory…….It is strange that you mentioned you became ill upon looking up at the bedroom window. This is where 90% of the activity is happening. That bedroom is definitley a portal.
We went back there a month ago, and I stood there staring up at the window for a good 3 minutes. I, too could see something pacing back and forth.
I almost feel sorry for the new owners. I truly hope that they knew the house is haunted before they purchased. I highly doubt it though.
Someday, someone is going to make the mistake of tearing that back house down, thinking that will take care of the spirits. That will just enrage the spirits, and they will take residence in the front house.
The front house is haunted as well, anyways. But the back house has much more activity. Even if both homes were torn down, the spirits would remain. They are attached to the land just as much as the homes.

I call bullcrap on this. None of the houses on Somerset have a gambrel roof (barn like roof).

Tima says:

Will, the house is there. It sits in back of another house. We investigated there for 6 months in 2010. As far as I know there are people living in both homes. When we investigated, the homes had set empty for quite a time, not being able to keep occupants. If you thrill seekers have no experience in hunting ghosts then I advice you to stay away from this lot. We were followed home! And if we weren’t experienced then this could have gotten bad! I have pictures of a black man, a middle aged white man, an old white man (we found a picture of him when he was alive. He owned the lot before passing) numerous pictures of a little girl, a dog that looks satantic, an an older woman! We have video (the man who followed us home) of the middle aged man watching us filiming him, raising a blond haired baby doll up and down. There is an upstairs bedroom in the back house that has a secret room inside the closet. This room is a portal and it isn’t bringing through much of anything good! Be warned! It’s no joke! If you are so curious about the lot then take someone with you who knows a thing or two. My friend is an experienced investigator and her and her girlfriend were both scratched pretty bad and told to get out! And most importantly if you go, go with respect for the dead! timabobima@aol.com

If you e-mail me wanting to see pictures and video from this house, then please have a little respect. AND BE PATIENT! I do not appreciate getting rude messages because I cannot send these things right away! I have a life outside of ghost hunting! From here on out rude people will be automatically blocked!

We were out driving around last night, headed up to GW Park & got some weird EVP’s & a lot of orbs. Just for fun we started driving around town & taking pics of some old homes as well as buildings. Got quite a bit of strange things at the 100 Center. We also went by this home. People are now living there so we didnt take any pics. I live only a few blocks away from here. You can stand outside(or sit in ur car) & feel the change in energy in this home. Being a sensitive helps, I think. ๐Ÿ™‚ Tima, If you are interested in seeing what we got last night, feel free to e-mail me at the address I provided. Some were great shots.

BK………….I don’t see your e-mail address. I’d love to see what you got. And I have pictures from the house on Somerset if you’d like to see. My e-mail is timabobima@aol.com
Both homes on the lot are haunted, but the back house is much more so. I’d love to talk with the new owners and see how they are doing in those homes.

Tima, I would like to see your pictures and videos please. I’ve lived in this barn house for many months, and you’re right about the portal. The other night we got a Ouija Board and we opened the portal deeper. I don’t know what we unleashed, but its pure evil and its not happy with us. We’ve heard multiple voices and they have told us that they will never leave us and all those that have been to this house will soon pay. I have marks on my palms and feet that mock the crucifixion of Jesus. This has become anti good and we need your help! Please this not a joke and it cannot wait! We need Sage and Holy Water! I tried blessing the house with Lipton Tea Bags because I thought they contained Sage and Lilac, but I was wrong…DEAD wrong! Tima…. Why is this happening?!

Barnhouse whisperer, funny that you’ve been cracking jokes about this house. This is the second site you’ve posted to about this. If you don’t believe that the house is haunted then why even bother commenting? I know for a fact that both homes on that lot are haunted, but I won’t sit here arguing with a non believer.

Tima says:

I sent you several messages barnhouse whisperer. If that is your proper e-mail address. I know of the couple living in the front house and of the lady living in the back house, so where exactly do you live?? My e-mail is timabobima@aol.com

I am a little surprised that people are still talking about this house after so many years. My oldest daughter is 30 and still has nightmares about it. There was no one at the time to help us, no internet and nothing in the phone book believe me I tried. I really don’t know the history of the back house we lived in, all I knew is that we had to get out and we moved in with my mom. The experiences in that house left a lasting impression on all of us. Two years ago I Co Founded Michiana Paranormal Investigations, with our main goal focused on helping families going through the same thing.
We have never asked anyone to believe us nor did we ever say the house was 200 years old. The upstairs had a barn shape to it and along one wall in one of the bedrooms it appeared that an old chicken coop had been boarded up. I will say that every attempt was made to fix the third step, was it paranormal who knows. I pray that anyone living there now has a peaceful, uneventful and happy life.

Yes, this is true. My best friend got a house by here, we saw it for ourselves. The barn is still there. But in front of it is a big house that’s yellow with a blue door. And I think the step is broken because the dad tried to kill his daughter on the third step with an axe. And yes, this is right outside of south bend :[

I wasn’t going to comment because many of the comments were made awhile ago but…the first settlers actually came to Indiana in the late 1600’s? Just because they “founded” a.k.a. named the city, doesn’t mean it didn’t exist before they moved there. There are house around here that are near 200 years old. And it’s not just houses that get haunted…land can be haunted too. I believe them whole-heartedly that the house is haunted. Why would they make it up? I feel bad that they endured that! I hope the spirits trapped in that house can find peace and are able to move on soon.
