Real Haunted House

Bell Witch Cave

Adams, Tennessee

Local legends say that the Bell Witch has haunted the area surrounding the caves for hundreds of years. It is said that the witch appears to people in the human form. There are many unexplainable pictures of shadows and other such entities in the cave. Upon entering the cave, it is alleged that one will be overcome by the feeling of being watched. It is further asserted that if one is to take a rock from the cave, they shall be forever be cursed. Many others have also reported voices in restricted areas of the cave that cannot be reached by any human.

Is it worth going to see? Because it seems like it would depend when you go. Like say if you go a certain time you might see something.

Having come face to face with her and hearing her laughter with others there to witness I have no desire to ever Visit Adams TN. again. Some will always scream BS and that doesn’t exist but she does.

If one feels the need to experience the paranormal
ententy in the cave then do this… Don”t go there until the barametric pressure is below 29.5 and the temperature is below 70 F ( typical cavern temp.) Take NO religous items with you in the cave and challange it with WORD ONLY. DO NOT TURN YOUR BACK ON IT. If it appears, witness it, take pictures if you like, then back out slowly.

my mom told me about the famous belle witch legend. she is the same one that haunted and murdured the belle family. the grandmother, the grandfather, mr. belle, mrs. belle, and their son and daughter… this is my favorite of all the stories. it is said that she was the belle housemaid. this story is what got me interested in the spirits of the world. (personaly, i seem to think the term “GHOST” is a little childish. DONT YOU THINK?

I am from TN and I have heard about the Bell Witch since I was a child. I have never been to the plantation or the caves, but my grandmother has. She went there to take some pictures in the early nineties. Most of the pictures she took just showed large black orbs taking up most of the pictures. One of the few that developed nicely were the Bell family grave stones. I have never heard the rumor about being cursed if you remove a rock from the cave, but who am I to say it isn’t true? I thought the caves were long since shut down, but I hope they aren’t anymore. Has anybody tried doing any EVP in there? That would be cool.

If all the bell witch does is **** with pictures that you take there, why is it so ******* scary. Big deal if your friend looks different. A smith and wesson forty cal scares me more than some weird old lady ****** with my kodak.

I have lived in Robertson County all my life and Kate is real. Just being in Adams you get a weird vibe that something is still not right. Sometimes weird things happen and sometimes they don’t. That’s just the way it goes. If you go and make fun of her then most likely something will happen. If anyone wants to check it out just go to the website bellwitchcave.com. The Kirby’s that own the property now are nice people and have tons of info. Rather u r a beliver or not it is worth the trip..trust me.

What closest larger city in Tn is Adams close too? I am in Ga, but would like to go up there one weekend.
I am going to google some info. I’ve seen the movie an American Haunting, and have been intrigued since then.

I got some good stuff during a visit to Cades Cove on film, but have yet to buy a scanner to scan them onto my computer. I wonder why Cades Cove is not listed here under Tennessee?
