I used to work in the Bernardsville Library, back in 1990-ish. I did most of my work upstairs in a little room, but I always had the door open and I always heard things - creepy, unexplainable sounds, like things crashing, floors creaking, and voices, even though it was after closing hour and it would be just me and some stuffy, old librarian there. I was constantly spooked, and when I mentioned it one day to someone they told me the haunted story of the innkeeper's daughter. I remember cold spots and sounds and a constant, eery sense, even before I learned the truth. It's a valid haunting. I also experienced a phenomenon in a hotel in Santa Monica, California, when I arrived late one night with my husband and 4 kids. There was a beautiful wedding party spilling into the lobby, and it was so nice, but then we started this long corridor walk to our rooms, and I got a chill, and this unexplained creepy feeling, and we got to the rooms and I just sat in a chair in the corner and couldn't bring myself to unpack or help my kids settle in quickly for bed, like I usually do. I finally told my husband I felt like the place was haunted and we just had to go. Since I never did that before, he agreed and we actually moved up the Beverly Wilshire and I was fine. The next morning, when the Santa Monica hotel clerk called to ask us if there had been a problem, my husband explained my "sense" and the clerk confirmed that the hotel has a reputation for being haunted. WOW! Got chills right now... I have even more ghost stories if anyone's interested. I think they have some affinity for me, for some reason, but nothing too extreme. I don't see dead people...

I grew up in the Bernardsville area. At the time of Parker's death, the structure was a residence. It became a library many years after. I have heard many locals, particularly people who worked at the library, speak of a ghostly presence there. I spoke to one librarian personally, who had returned to the library after hours to retrieve a forgotten item. As she entered the main foyer, she saw an apparition in white floating towards her. There were also numerous reports of pots and pans claning in what was the kitchen. A few years ago, a paranormal team stayed in the library to conduct research and the findings indicated a presence.

my friend gabby said that her aunt pegine works at that library and that she never has seen or heard about parker haunting it. once again i think that this is just a fable made up to scare people at that library. Although i have to admit that the story was preety good. Out of all of the stories i think thst this one is one of the most realistic.
