By Lisa

Located in Tombstone, AZ, the Bird Cage Theatre is one of the Wild West’s most famous landmarks.  It dates back to the 1800s where legend says 26 people were killed there.  Over 120 bullet holes still remain in the building.

Today, you can tour the Bird Cage Theatre and may even be able to hear ghostly noises of laughter and yelling, as well as strange music.

I went there last week with my wife and my mother. It cost 10 dollars per person to walk around, but it was worth it. The main area in front of the stage has a sort of hazardous feeling to it. I could swear I felt like someone was following me around, screaming, watching. It wasn’t a painful noise, just one of intimidation. It wasn’t until I went underneath the stage that I felt truly uncomfortable. There are two rooms where the prostitutes would “conduct business,” and this is where I felt something horrible. Peering through the doors filled my mind with feelings of depressing hopelessness accompanied by fear. Something urged me to simply touch the doorknob. When my fingers made contact with the cold metal, a horrible feeling unlike anything I’ve experienced before shot up my spine. I can’t explain what it was, but I’ll never forget it nor will I ever return because of it.
