I promise you folk’s. If It were haunted I would be the first to let you know. We have been to the house. We have talked with the owners. There is NO haunting in this house. Just urban legend. That’s all. They give historic tours because of the size and age of the home. NO GHOSTS. I promise.

I have lived around the corner from this place since 1987. We have always called it “the Spook House” I am not sure why, because we just heard about it being “haunted” today. It has been up for sale more times than I can say, and I actually went to a yard sale there some years ago when a young couple owned it. Sometimes there will be a sign in the yard that they are giving tours. It costs 10.00 to take the tour. I think next time I will go just to see what’s in there. The previous owners decorated it like a Victorian House for Christmas in 2008, but it appeared to be empty this past Christmas.

I just wanted to clarify my earlier comment about “living” in the house as a child. I don’t know how many people have claimed to live in the Blackwell House or how many owners it has had since. All I know is we were the first family to own the house outside of the Blackwell family. My parents bought the house from Louise Blackwell Miller in 1983 and we lived there for 6 years. The Memphis Ghost Hunters may not have experienced anything during their investigation but I spent a lot more time in the home than they did.

This is about the 25 th person we have had, write and tell us they “lived” in this house as a child. Boy this house has had a lot of owners. Give me a break. It’s not haunted, and the current owners have been there for years. Not one paranormal event. No evidence from anyone. Just a lot of false claims. It’s an urban legend that needs to be put to rest. We have investigated this property. It was a very peaceful and tastefully decorated home. That’s it. Nothing more..

Well as for the house being haunted I can say with all certainty that it is completely true and I would know first hand because the Blackwell house was my childhood home. I am also proud to mention that we lived in the house for a lot longer than a month. I did see the gentleman in his Sunday best as well as some other interesting things but we never had a lightbulb explode on us although one was always on.

OHH MY GOD. i CAN WAlK TO THAT HOUSE,THATS HOW ClOSE i liVE TO iT! OHH AND KYlE lOOK UP SHElBY COUNTY SCHOOlS AND SEARCH FOR BARTlETT HiGH. FIND AND GET THA ADRESS THEN GO ON MAPQUEST.COM AND TYPE THA ADRESS MOVE iT AROUND A lITTLE AND RIGHT INFRONT OF THE SCHOOL IS A PARK THE HOUSE THAT IS LOCATED RIGHT ON THE PARK IS THAT HOUSE.

I am a Blackwell, my dad died when I was 16. I dreamed the funeral 2 days before he died (NO JOKE), it shocked my foster parents. Also I always have sleeped with a night light on, just something my parents that raised me with, but there is alot more spooky things then finally people who didn’t believe actually witnessed it, I feel my father used to haunt me, but not any longer. I think he had something to tell me left unfinished.

maybe he thought that no1 should be afraid of him (he has a weird way of showing it) so he turns the light on to tell them not to fear
