Real Haunted House

Bloods Point Road

Cherry Valley, Illinois

If one travels on this road toward the cemetery, he will notice a bridge just above the train tracks. Once, a school bus filled with children flew off the bridge, killing all the passengers. Today, if a car is put in neutral on this spot, it will be mysteriously pushed across the bridge. There is also a traffic light in the area that seems to change locations. In the cemetery many have seen a ghost and heard whistling.

I didn’t write that, but I happen to live less than a half hour from Blood’s Point, and I and many of my friends, have been, more than once. (We did not all go at the same time.) There is also a truck that chases cars, and sometimes runs them off the road, before dissapearing into thin air. And i’ve seen pictures of orbs taken in the cemetary. And, there’s supposedly a witch that lives on that road. (Sorry, I’ve never tried the bridge thing, I’m afraid to go on it, but I’ve heard many stories about it. It’s said to be the most hanuted part of the whole place. However I believe it’s actually on Sweeney Rd., not Blood’s Point.)

I’ve been a lot i go there all tha time i dont live to far away and to see a lot of this stuff u have to keep going back. It dont happen every night and you have to make sure your in the right place. If your expecting to see a ghost thats on tha street 2 3 streets over ur not gonna see it. To any one who dont believe it its real. The getting pushed off the tracks put baby powder on the back of your car and sit on the tracks it dont happen everytime but if it does you will see that its the little kids pushing you off (Saving your life from what they experienced) there will be little kid hand prints on the car.

Just to clarify everyone, I was just out on the bloodspoint bridge. And it is haunted. We where stopped in the middle of the bridge in park. Our dog we had with us started to freak out and so we decided to leave. My friend went to put her car into drive and the shifter wouldn’t shift. It was stuck in park. Ok this isn’t some pile of **** car either. It’s a newer car that has never had any problems of the sort. We finally got it shifted into drive and went down to the next driveway to turn around and the car shifted just fine anfter that. The cemetary is the next stop. I was too chicken to go in there after the whole car thing so planning on going tonight to take pictures and such.

I went to high school in Rockford and I went to Blood’s Point once with 5 other friends of mine. We had a few beers, while parked next to the cemetary. If I’m remembering correctly, there’s a farm house just down the street (east) of the cemetary, on the south side of the road… I could have my barrings off, it has been 15yrs ago or so now…Anyway, we all went in the cemetary, I believe it wasn’t very big?? My friend Kathy, Maureen, and I sat down, and took out our guija board (spelling?). We had asked the spirits if anyone wanted to talk to us. A woman said yes. I can’t remember a whole lot, but I’ll try. Kathy did the asking, she asked her how old she was, middle aged, not sure of exact age, anymore. She said that she had died in some kind of accident, maybe car? I think she was run over…. Again, so long ago… Kathy had asked her a question, and for some reason, I remember it scaring us enough for us 3 girls to want to leave. The 2 guys that came with, Greg, and Kathy’s friend? I can’t remember his name. But he was really nice.. They laughed at us when they saw how scared we were! We all went back to the car, and headed back home. But Greg, being the smart aleck that he always was! He decided to go back on the bridge!! We got towards the bridge, and the car acted like it was gonna stall! Us 3 just yelled at Greg to knock it off!! That we weren’t scared!!! Greg turned his head a screamed at us to be quite. He was obviously scared too! anyway, the car did keep going, but when we were on the bridge, the radio went to fuzz, and it was real load too! We all screamed, and the car almost crached into the side of the bridge! Very freaky!! Needles to say, we got home, and I haven’t been back since…Although, now I knda like too, once more, for old time sake!!!

Ok this is too much like the haubted railroad tracks that we have here in San Antonio, the samething happened here when a bus stopped on the tracks and couldn’t move and then got hit by the train and all got killed and basically the same happens.

I am not sure what bridge you are all talking about. There is a bridge on Pool Rd. and that bridge is creepy. Supposedly someone was hung there and then buried under a tree nearby. I have been by Blood’s Point and it really isn’t scary and have seen no bridge. There is a house right next door. Do you really think that if it was haunted they would still live there? Don’t think so. I also heard there is supposed to be a witch or a warlock but have no idea where that is supposed to be. Please try to shed some light on the whole bridge thing. Thanks!

I donâ??t mean to burst anyoneâ??s bubble, but several intersections of streets and railroads that supposedly have â??guardian ghostsâ?? that push you out of harmâ??s way have been debunked. First of all, the road leading to the tracks is usually on a downhill incline, but since the railroads sit higher it gives the illusion that you are going uphill. Second, the oil from your fingers and hand after shutting your trunk doesnâ??t get washed off by going through a car wash – you have to take a towel with soap and rub them off.

My advice – if youâ??re going to try to put baby powder on your trunk to see the prints, make sure you wipe off any residual prints of your own or anyone who has used your trunk first.

I do believe paranormal events can happen, but I think 9 times out of 10 there is a non-paranormal explanation for them.

Yea, i went to bloods point a while ago and on the way there we were crossing some railroad tracks and almost hit a train that was crossing. we stopped 1 cm away from it from 45 mph. then when we got there it was like 12 and really really windy and we were walking around inside of the cemetary and my friend stepped on a grave that was dug up on accident and stepped on somethin. Thats when we decided to leave. We turned off of the road and a black truck started to chase us untill we got to belvidere. Then our car died right at the entrace to town and had to call someones dad to come get us.

my ex just told me a story about Matilda who was a witch who haunts bloods point. I was also told about that bridge. But a different story. If you put your car in neutral in that spot, it will move over the train tracks… you’ll hear a train (but kno that the tracks have not been used for a very long time) and then sum screams and then silence. If you get out and look at your bumper, you’ll see 6 childrens finger prints… they were matilda’s children who were also killed.

Also, Matilda was hung on that bridge I believe. It’s been said that the rope is still there… and if you get close enough, you can see recent blood… she put up a fight when she was hung.

JAM says:

May 30, 2006, 7:40 pm

My previous comment was deleted for some unknown reason.

The Bloodspoint Cemetery is on the northwest corner of the intersection of Bloodspoint Road and Pearl Road several miles south of Belvidere.

There is a house right behind the cemetery and a farmhouse to the east on the other side of Pearl Road.

Several miles down the road is a bridge that crosses OVER the railroad tracks, same as a bridge would cross OVER a river.

There are no traffic lights, for this is way out in the country.

JAM says:

May 30, 2006, 7:43 pm

That story about ghost children pushing cars off of traintracks was actually from an episode of GHOST STORIES hosted by Patrick Macnee.

Voices or noises are likely to carry over from the nearby houses.

However, I did manage to catch a strangew light anomoly over a headstone using a digital camera during daylight.

JAM says:

May 31, 2006, 8:12 am

copy and paste the URL into your browser to view the photo of the light in the cemetery.

Nothing to get overly excited about, but still interesting nonetheless.

Alright…I really wanna go check this place out. However, I do have one thing to say that I can pretty much guarantee is a lie about the stories above. The whole parking your car and being pushed off by children…it’s BS. There is a site in San Antonio where a bus stalled on the tracks, and all the kids and the bus driver were killed in the accident. All the streets passed the tracks are now named after each of the children that died in the accident. It has been documented time and time again that you can set your car in neutral on the tracks and every time…w/o fail…your car will be pushed off the tracks to reach the other side safely. Powder on the bumper has proven to show tiny finger prints on the back of the car. I think this is simply just how one story travels to other locations…and just ends up becoming a myth everywhere. Like Resurrection Mary…how many other places have you heard that story for other cemeteries than Resurrection Cemetery in Chicago, IL? Numerous. Never actually made wide-spread…just talked about in the towns nearby. Still going to check out Bloods Point Rd…see how much is true.

I first visited Bloods Point Cemetary when I was around 18 or so. Having heard stories about it all through high school, I was really curious and so a bunch of my friends all decided to go out there together one weekend night.

There were two cars, about seven of us total. We drove out to the cemetary first and looked around. It was indeed creepy, being out in the middle of nowhere and very old -but nothing really happened and we moved back to the bridge. We drove over it without incident on the way to the cemetary (we took river road from Cherry Valley to get there).

When we stopped on the way back, we all parked on the shoulder (no stalling or radio occurences) and climbed down to the tracks. We walked a few hundred feet, saw a deer, and got bored with that as well.

Finally, climbing back up to the bridge, one carfull of people left and four of us were left. We stood around in the middle of the bridge, next to the rail that overlooked the light (not a stoplight, but a railroad light of some type -flashing green).

Suddenly two of the other people stopped talking and looked up, as if they’d heard something. They both asked the question, “Did you hear that?” and myself and the other party laughed it off for about one second.

Then we heard some sort of snarl, like an animal. All four of us immediately bolted toward the car (parked about 30 feet away and facing home). We could hear the sounds of a pursuit -sounded like the claws of a dog- and climbed into the car freaking OUT!

The car took a few tries to get started and as the driver struggled with it, the rest of us locked our doors and peered into the darkness behind us for a dog or other animal. There was nothing.

I’ve visited since and just felt too intimidated to get out of the car -but I’ve never seen or heard any other paranormal activity.

I have been to Blood’s Point many times, and I have yet to experience the chasing truck phenominom. I have seen different figures in the Cemetery, and have heard different noises around the shed. Another interesting thing to do is at night go to the bridge on Poole Rd, and walk around you will begin to feel unwanted, and if you go in 19 Feb you will actually see someone hanging from the bridge just there dangling, and “she” will appear to be looking at you with hateful eyes. I have expierenced that myself.

I think there is a similar story in Texas about a school bus full of children that stalled on train tracks and all the kids were killed by a speeding freight train. All the streets in the neighborhood were named after all the kids that were killed. If this crossing works like the one in Texas, I heard that it helps to put a little talcom powder on the back of your car so that you can see the little finger prints better.

coming from a skeptic…..i hate that place. the true bridge is off of sweeney, for those of you from th rockford area its much like the harison/20th street bridge as its covered by trin tracks….one of the scariest places i have ever been, and everytime i leave that area a red truck with creme panneling on the sides has chased me, but just before it gets close, it vanishes. i turn around everytime to ee were it puuled off, and its no where to be found, problem is, there are no garages for it to park in….

Yeah, Schaumburg has all these creepy houses just popping up like magic……………If you want to get freaked out, go to The Excalibur. I went there a few years ago with my band and we had big group of people and around 2am a couple of us decided to help a bartender friend go get some stuff and to a person we felt something touch us. He seemed ok with it because he said it’s happened before, but the rest of us were completely freaked out. We walked through cold spots and the weird thing was the smell of old dirt when everything was concrete. I don’t have an answer for it, but it was freaky.

I have been doing alot of research on Blood’s Point Road. Firstly, there are a lot of things that can be explained…however, somethings can not.

If anyone was wondering, Blood’s Point comes from Able R Blood (or some say Arthur) who founded the town. Pearl Road was also called Blood Road (according to one researcher named Betty) and where Blood’s Point and Blood’s Road meet make the point.

If anyone has any stories to share or information on Blood’s Point Road….Please. Please Please drop me a note.

Ok – here is what I know about Bloods Point. Many many people mistake Flora Church Cemetary for Bloods Point Cemetary. Flora Cemetary is on Flora Church Road and is right across from Flora Church – the Church. My friends and I used to party in the cemetary nightly about 18 years ago. I have heard many stories but the only personal experiences I have had are seeing what appeared to be a sacrificed dog (a small white doge cut open from neck to navel and everything was removed)deep in the woods in the area, and yes, the car/truck following us. I’m not so sure that there are ghosts out there but rather “odd hillbilly people”

I know this story is false for ONE main reason.. I live in Belleville Illinois, and the story is also HERE in my home town which is NOWHERE near where this story is from! Its all bogus. Its been said that the bus of kids died on the bridge(here it was a railroad crossing)and if you put baby powder on ur trunk lid you will see HUNDREDS of childrens fingerprints on it because the children are pushing you(onto the tracks) or possibly(if your heading the wrong direction) off the tracks to save your life.. but if you back up and stare at the road, its flat..oooo spooky! NOT.. the story is the same, but different slightly, and still is BOGUS! thought i’d let u know!

Tonight me and my bf and good friend and my bf’s parents went out to Bloods Point. If you turn right onto the road you will find the cemetary. However if you turn left onto the road you will find the bridge over the railroad tracks, the bridge is shortly after you make the lefthand turn onto Bloods Point Road.We didnt see anything out at the cemetary so thats all bogus we think. However, when we went out to the bridge we could hear rocks being thrown and see the children down by the tracks. We also saw a dark figure standing down on the tracks that walked behind the truck we drove there in and my bfs mom saw it walk behind the truck and on the way back home we realized it came back with us.Piece of advice when you go out there don’t start swearing at them or yelling at them they get ticked off and may go back home with you.My friend Erik ticked them off and two followed us back.We got rid of one of them but the other however is now in my apartment where we all live.As for the black truck that follows you thats all bull cuz that didnt happen. Its pretty cool to check out just watch what you do or say when you’re out there!

Im just curious if anyone out there has been to the forest perserve out by bloods point. Its the opposite way of the cemetary and honestly i think there’s more activity there then there is at the cemetary itself. My sister and myself went there to do some pictures for her photography class and the whole time it was very miss matched presences, you could feel some hostility and at other times kindness. It was just really odd plus in almost all the pictures you can see objects, or people and faces in the background. Im really involved with the supernatural and love this kind of stuff so if anyone has any more information on it please let me know.

i went out to bloods point a few times, the first time we didnt c anything but the 2nd time we went with 9 people and stood on the tracks on the bridge and everyone got a werid feeling of hostility. my friend had a dime in his hand and i heard the sound of it hitting the tracks but he still had it in his hand. some people heard noises in the bushes and growling noises. 2 of my friends were walking down the road and saw a shadow figure run by em and then it was gone…another good place to go is floral cementary…last time i was there me and my friends saw a large shadowy figure moving around by the shed, we took off running from it. it almost felt like it was trying to chase us out of the cemetery. went back towards it again and it would disapper when u went near it then re-apper when u walked away. it was very creepy, ive never seen 4 grown men run so fast in my life. i suggest everyone goes out and visits that place.

Ok, so i have been randomly browsing this website and to be a little pissed off at some of the people on here. This is a site for hauntings. Whether or not they are real is something you find out for yourself. Donâ??t come here if you are going to give false information or stupid remarks. Go somewhere else for that. Some people actually might WANT to read information that is relevant. And they might actually want to go to these places. It doesnâ??t help if you just F**k around. Yeah, I do believe in some supernatural things and its fine if some of you donâ??t. But donâ??t come here and state that. I personally donâ??t care about you and I donâ??t think anyone else does either. So if you actually have something worth while to say go right ahead and say it. But if youâ??re going to be a D-bag about it.. go to hell.

Ok. I have an eyewittness account of a ghost car aswell as the black rig that you’re all talking about. First and foremost, I must say that Cherry Valley’s ghosts are not friendly. At all. Period. On to the account. My boyfriend was driving home through Cherry Valley from seeing his ex fiancee for one last time. He took bloods point rd. About midway down, at the entrance to Cherry Valley (the town) a set of blue lights turned on behind him. He thought it was just a car that turned onto the street. pretty soon it started gaining on him. He sped up, it sped up. Before long he was going almost 100mph, as fast as his car would go, and the thing was still gaining on him. He says it got close enough that he clearly saw a face in his rear view mirror. He now refuses to go through Cherry Valley, or even look at a sign for the town. And I don’t blame him. Cherry valley, and ghosts in genral are not things to be trifeled with. They can seriously do some damage. Take caution when you go there. It doesn’t matter how many crosses you carry, they can and will harm you if given the chance.

Click my name if you want to visit a forum that seriously discusses the supposed hauntings of Bloodspoint Road and surrounding areas.

I say ” supposed ” because honestly, I have yet to see any documented evidence of what could qualify as a haunting. Even photographs I have taken were either debunkable with a little persistence or could not be classified as one way or another.

And most of the comments posted here and elsewhere on the Internet are more hype and hysteria.

There might be a legitimate haunting in this area, but it is a difficult case to make.

It’s easy to say there is based on personal experiences or hand-me-down stories, but too often these are embellished after already being the result of imaginations working overtime.

It’s both fascinating and ridiculous how haunted the area has become based on word of mouth.

It has been a while since I have been out there but when I went there the black truck chased us and the ghost were walking in the cemetary. I believe in ghosts because we have some in the building we live in. We also saw a red light. My friends are out there right now so I will find out if they see anything and report to all of you but we are planning a trip out there soon.

Oh man…I’m from Stillman and its been a couple of years since I’ve been there and quite a few times me and my friends went over there and didnt see anything. We would make stuff up just to scare one person in the car….but there was two times I swear scared the **** out of me. Once I was driving with friends by the cemetary and nothing happened but as we got further away someone started following us I sped up and the car stayed right on our butt. I was goin over 80 miles an hour and they still kept up with me then I thought they turned off their lights cuz the car just dissappeared and the people in the backseat were freaking out.

Another time right before halloween I went out there with friends in two cars. One car stopped at the cemetary before we got to it and a cop came out of nowhere with lights on to see why they were tresspassing. we kept driving past. we only got a block or two away when we started to get pulled over. All of a sudden theres like 6 cop cars(no joke) surrounding our car. We were scared out of our mind. The cop asked what we were doing and we said we were lost. They said to get out of the area because there was alot of **** goin down that night and we shouldnt be there. It must have been pretty important for that many cops is all I know. I was only 16 and now am 21 and will never forget that.

Theres another story if any of you are interested in the area to check out I swear its worth it. Right outside of Leaf River, IL you drive by this huge hill and when you turn around and your lights hit it just right you can see a gravestone glowing in the night. They say its a real cemetary and the tombstone was made out of a certain granite that made it shine when light hits it. Its really creepy. My dad told me about that one and I’ve seen it myself. Hes a cop too…

Iv’e been out there a lots times. I live about 20 minutes away. The fisrt time i went out there nothing happend. But the 2nd time, that scared the **** out of me and my friend Justin,
we were on blood’s point rd when we hit some dense fog, threw the fog we saw a light that was on the side of the rd(looked like a broken reflector) when we got close it vanished and the grave yard was to the imidate left. We were both like did u see that light. we passed the grave yard and did a uie. while doing so my friend Justin said “i see bodies out in the field”. i thought he was messing with me. So i’m back on bd pt. and i’m searching for the light, we don’t see anything.
turned out the bodies in the field were just cows .but at this point my freind was like WE JUST SCENE AN ORB, I’m calling it the pop can from hell, there a lot of trash on the side of that road. So now we head to the creppy bridge on wheler, I stop my car under neath the bridge and turn it off. we sat there for a few secounds and waited. Didn’t hear or see anything. Thats when it happend, My friggin car wouldn’t start, didn’t even turn over, all the emergency lights came on but that was it. Well justin was looking at me like WTF and i had a panicked look on my face. I realy didn’t wanna push a Grand Marquee out from underneath that bridge.
if you have scene it you know what i’m talking about. It has two wooden pilliars on both sides and is realy rickety looking. Any way i get this bright idea to turn the intirrier lights on. I was still in drive. so i put the car in nutral and it fired up right i squeled my tires as i drove away as fast as humanly posible. still in a state of shock.
He still won’t let me live that down till this day

I used to go out there…many years ago. It is very creepy.
One night a few years back, it was close to Halloween and my friend was going take some of his friends out there. The friends have never been. It was late and they took off with their flashlights. My husband and I waited a good 10 minutes or so then we decided to go out there and be the ones to scare them. Little did we know that we’d be the ones getting scared.
We had just pulled in to the pull-off spot, got out, and flashlight in hand started to walk up the cliff then all of a sudden all these police cars surround us. I guess there is a lot of rapes that go on out there and once there was a person left for dead. After searching our vehicles and such everything was OK. But the police did say that that’s not really a good place to hang out. Pretty much…Stay Away. I’m sure that there is stuff that the police didn’t tell us. Haven’t been back since.

Isn’t it supposed to be an Indian Burial Ground?

Let me first say I never believed in ghosts until we stole the head stone of “the witch” of bloods point. Im telling you talk about some scary stuff. We ended up taking it back too many creeping things happened. There is also a road that heads north and south by the old slaughter house (the slaughter house is on the north east corner) head south on that road and it’s like the road just drops off your headlights stop just at the trees and no matter how close you get the road can not be illuminated.

About 7 years ago I was driving on Cherry Valley Rd on my way to Dekalb. I was chased by a car or truck or something around the Bloodspoint area. I don’t know what it was because all I saw were headlights. This car was literally about 6 inches from my bumper and chasing me going about 85 mph. I flew over some train tracks and it was gone. Scariest moment of my life. When I was in High School my cousins would try to scare us out there, but nothing ever happened on the bridge or cemetery. I believe if you’re looking for something, your mind isn’t open to what it already there. It’s when you’re not looking is when something happens.

Sorry to tell everyone this but, i live 5 minutes away from bloods point road and sweeney aka poole rd. The first time i went i was scared but nothing happened so i took my friend with me the next night and we stayed in there, it was scary yeah but once again nothing. And then on halloween we took more friends, had fun some people said they seen a car disapear but there full of it probably were so drunk. Then me and my other friend went to the rocks on sweeney where the farmer was suppose to be, we did see soemthin freaky bird feathers (not single still with skin on it) on the ground very wierd. any way we scared peoepl they thought we was a ghost or soemthin HA. but then we walked to bvloods point and oncew again nothin. OH and the bridge thing isnt real the bridge slopes…. how ever one thing does freak me out, heading near the rocks i always see eyes in the tree even when i had back but i never see and animal body just eyes. BUT THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I DOTN BELIEVE SOMETHING IS THERE. i just think you cant be going there to find somethin if you iknow what i mean. ANOTHER time freaked me out alot it was a really foggy day really foggy to were you had to drive really slow or you would be in the corn field, when i returned home there was hair and feathers on my front bumbper and i did nothit anything, very wierd.

OK, so last night I went on that road with some friends. Oh boy, it was freaky! We were dirving out there and i looked behind us and saw a stop light. I looked back agian and it was gone. I did’nt really hink anything about it, because I thought i was just freaking myself out. We went over the bridge but didnt put it in nutrel, just dorve over it. Nothing happened. As we sarted driving home there was a car behind us. We got up to 100 mph and the car was still getting closer. Before it could reach us it disappeard as we reach the Bypass. We were dissapointed that nothing happened, until we started reaching into town. I looked over at my freinds window and saw a hand print on the window. I aske dher if she put her hand on the window, but she didnt. As she meassured her hand to the hand on the wondow, it appeared outside the car and wa shalf the size of hers! It looked like a child’s hand. All of us looked on our windows. One window in the back and front had prints on it, each we oppisits sides from eahc other. On the driver side window was a hand that looke dlike it tried to grad onto the carbut becasue we went so fast its hand dragged acoss the windows. It was too freaky yet exciting. I think we are going back out there tonight I’ll tlak about it later.

i have been to bloodspoint once. i cant remember where exactly i was but it was on a dark road with a lot of tress and bushes. kinda like being in the woods. me, my boyfriend, and our friends got out of the car and started walking around. we didnt hear much for a lil while. but then out of nowhere we heard aniamls howling, like wolves and a girl screaming. like she was being attacked by the animals. then we went to this cemetary. i dont rememb er exactly what road it was on but its a private cemetary. theres a white house and whote shed next to it. and theres a gate around it. we went into the cemetary and walked around looking at the stones. i had to pee really bad, so i went over by a tree. and when i did we heard a chainsaw being turned on in the shed and the door started to open. we all ran and got into the car. my boyfriend and his friends have been there a couple times. and they went on the bridge. his car stalled out and wouldnt start. some people might not believe that its haunted. ive been there once and only 2 things happened. it just depends on when you go. like being in the right place at the right time.

We just went out there and boy was that a trip. First it took a while to find it but then we found the road. There was a full moon too. Once we got on Bloods Point road you could feel the ghostly power.
We got to the bridge and put our car in nuetral like we were told. We sat there and pretty soon we saw this shadow. We started to freak out. I tried to start the car but it wouldnt budge. Something knocked on the window and there was a gigantic cow wearing a straw hat. He wanted to know if we had any Grey Poupon. He needed something to help with the tasteless straw he had to eat. We said no and pretty soon the car started again. We looked on our windows and sure enough on the back ones were hoof prints. 16 of them like little cows were tap dancing on the windows.
We found the cemetary and parked. All these cows were sound asleep. We smelled the wonderful spirit of cow poop. There were shiney orbs just like you all said. They looked like giganitic disco balls and sure enough that witch was doing the macarana with a ghost. Hands were coming out of the graves and snapping to the beat. Man we got out of there. It was all we could handle. Whew! We almost died out there. Be careful!!!!! Deadly cows are waiting for you and the smell will kill you.

Ive been there 4 times and every time i am there something always ends up happening. I went to valley days with friends and my boyfriend, we got bored and left to bloods point. We all walked under the bridge on the train tracks. We started walking down them and we heard the voice of a little girl say either Hi or Bye, we couldnt really understand what the voice was saying, we all juss looked at eachother and ran without even saying anything. Under the bridge theres bones scattered all along the railroad tracks. Gross! anyways, theres also the haunted woods. We went there last night also. We parked and got out of the car, we heard a moaning three times. so we all jumped back in the car. My boyfriend and his friend went up to the cobble stone steps leading to the path that takes you to the woods. They ran back and said there was someone walking on the path. I didnt see it myself but my boyfriend was pretty freaked. and the whole car chasing you thing, is true, cause it happened once, but it wasnt a truck it was a car.

I was out there last night. I visited the bridge on the way. nothing happened. The cemetery was lit well with the moon almost full and that big light in the middle of the plot. Other than some noises that were probably animals and what sounded like a child laugh as we entered the shed nothing. The laugh was very quick and we barely heard it. A childs laugh is the best thing i can describe it too. The cemetery and bridge were kinda lame. Then we went to the woods and that was creepy. We were all good until we got to the edge of the woods my friends were afraid to enter but i went into the trees about twenty feet or so, and we started hearing voices from every direction. As soon as i walked out and we started walking back they faded. I heard there is a church hidden away out in those woods. Id like to go again with some braver people and find this place. okay, ive been to bloods point about 10 times in the past 2 years. nothing has ever happened to me. the worst thing that happened to me was when me, my cousin, and 2 girls went with us, my cousin let some girl drive his car, and she crashed into a ditch in some guys yard on river road, which is pretty much bloodspoint. you can still see the tire tracks and the big hole we left in the dirt from the car smashing into the hill where it happened, it was right past the corner of river road and burton road. right in front of a house. we then got out and walked towards bloodspoint road for about 2 hours before the people that were looking for us found us, we made it to shirley bridge. it doesnt seem that far, but when you walk it is. and the whole time we were out there, nothing happened. but the last time i went with some friends, and we were in a black truck, and we chased a couple of people, they took off like a bat outta hell. another time we went there, the gravekeeper who owns the house next to the cemetary was having a bonfire/party, and there were about 30 cars parked in his driveway and across the street, and most of them were outside right next to the cemetary. needless to say, bloodspoint road isnt haunted, and neither is the cemetary. its mostly kids who go out there and get drunk or high and then haullucinate.

To C.L.
The church is on a road called “sweeny rd”. If you are heading AWAY from the cemetery on bloods point rd keep going. bloods point will turn into another road, i dont remember what its called that it turns into, but sweeny road will be a right turn. its quite a ways down the road till sweeny road. then you will be traveling south on sweeny road. mapquest it and you will see it. you will drive under a old wooden bridge and thats “supposed” to be haunted too (but i never saw anything). but anyways keep going a little further and on your left you will see a parking spot. its gravel and has large bolders around it. you cant miss it. then get out and walk past the boulders and you will find stone steps leading to a path thats hard to see. follow that path and (its a ways back there) but you will walk into the woods, and on your right in the woods is where the church USED TO STAND. it is destroyed. if you look youll see one of the foundation walls still stands and theres a large boulder there as well. creepy but i dont know about “haunted”. but as for the cemetery, i do believe it is haunted.

Honestly, the thing about where you sit there with truck in neutral and it pulls you back…. The road is slanted. My teacher and I had a discussion about it not too long ago and he actually got out and took a look to see why it was doing that. It’s not entirely noticable, but it’s just enough that it’ll get your car/truck rolling.

There is also an old outhouse, and i heard a voice say “get out” i also witnessed, along with a few others, several red orbs. we went to the site of the farmhouse where the farmer supposedly killed his family? and the silo was still standing. upon poking my head inside, i heard whispering in a different language, possibly latin? i was completely sober, as were my companions. i feel no need to go back to this place and disturb whatever is there!

I have been to BP many times. The scariest thing there is the cops :O. I got an EVP on a gravestone taht clearly said a death meatl “GET OUT”. As soon as you move you camera over the chainlink fence, it will die. When under the bridge, electronics wont work and there is an eeri feeling. The dissapearing car…lol. The road is COVERED in hills. Headlights dissapear, they went down the hill and will pop back up. SO people go and investigate, but there are many houses taht they can pullin or streets to turn on. Tehe place is haunted because of all the deaths, but there is no haunting cars. By the way, every house on the road is brown, red, or white…go figure.

Hey I’m 13, last night myself,my cousin, my (soon to be cousin) and my (soon to be cousin’s) cousin, went out to blood point. All the lights in the church were off except the lights in the basement. my cousin’s cousin was telling about all of his expeiriances(sp?)(one was about a dead rabbit with a circle of candles around it, which we thought meant witchcraft or a cult. anyway me and my, almost cousin WOULD NOT go into the old part of Flora Cemetary. So, we went a ways into the new part. As soon as we got out of the car i had a feeling something was going to happen. We had just came from a haunted house (not literally) and i said to the “We just came from a haunted house, but now this is real life, so screw this. we all went back into the car and started to go back the way we came. We were headed towards Irene road and were going to the bridge (where all the children died)to test the put the car into nuetral theory. on our way a car came towards us swirving in the road, it then got back into its own lane and was almost at us. as we passed, something flew out of the window and hit the windshield HARD. i thought my cousin driving was shot so i turned around and tried to get a plate. THE CAR WAS GONE! we were all in shock of what just happened it seemed to be a big truck of some kind. After that we all looked at eachother and said “im out” we all went back to my cousins apartment and tried to make sense of what happened. Now we’re going back tonight with a to see what’ll happen. Everyone is talking about a black truck. I live in rockford, and me and 3 friends drove out there a few nights ago. We drove around checkin out everything, but we decided not to go in the cemetery or the house that is supposed to be haunted. however, the house next to the “haunted house” has a big black pick up truck. coincidence? possibly… but chances are, the owner of the house/truck get pissed that they have teens every weekend goin out there to get drunk or high or whatever so they scare the s*** out of them to get them to leave.

Me and a bunch of friends went out to bloods point tonite. First we stopped at (what we thought) was the bridge where the people were hanged or w/e….and we all got on top of the bridge when a loud *** train whistle blew….at first we were scared to death but we soon realized it was a real train and got back in our cars and went to the second bridge with the “blood puddle”. It was pretty spooky looking and all but when we were leaving we found a bottle of fake blood on the side of the road, obiously not real. Finally, we went to the cemetery. At first, I wasn’t scared at all and we took pictures to try and see orbs but we did not. We went into the shed then and my friend had his cell phone camera going however we were paying attention to the walls (trying to figure out what they said, and also if you shine a light on the far right wall and then shut it off u will see glow in the dark paint) but anyways we left. There was no one chasing us or anything…but anywayz on the way home we watched the video and the video showed a pitch black room for the most part EXCEPT for a half a second where what looks like a flame suddently appears out of mid air and you can hear a faint voice in the background making a Breathing/Moaning noise. After i got home i did some research and
says that a witch was well known for making fire with her fingers…….this is very true!!!!

I have actual and personal experience with this place. My ex-wife and I used to frequent cemetaries and other “supposed” haunted places. We drove out there a few times in the 80’s and had some pretty strange experiences. It is for real but the stories vary. One thing that I know for sure is the bride and the house on the corner as well as the cemetary. Here is the story and what actually happened upon our visit.
The story: If you turn right from the intersection of Bloods Point and Wheeler Rd you will get to an intersection that has only a left curve. The House is on the right corner with a large barn adjacent. If you round the corner, the small cemetary is on the right. This is true. Supposedly the owner of the house went mad and killed his entire family in the house and then hung himself from the bridge down the road. For many years the house remained “as-is” untouched including the childrens toys in the front yard with the main attraction being a tipped over tricycle and a young boys hat. BTW the school bus thing happened too, but that was years after.
Our Visit: It was weird. I am a skeptic but this was wierd. The tryke was there, the place looked abandoned and lights came on in the barn in the middle of the day, only in a couple of windows that were separated by about 15 ft. We visited the cemetary and as we were reading headstones we were shot at from someone (something) in a black truck that disappeared as fast as it arrived, out of nowhere on a gravel road, no dust! We hauled out of there and did not go back. There is something to it!

The cars move because of the overall landscape. It is on a downward slope overall so gravity takes over. There are places in the world where it looks like water is flowing uphill for the same reason. Simple science but the original myth is still to be busted in my opinion. I honestly believe the original story to a degree, I lived in that area for over 20 years.
BTW: The witch Beula thing is over, she died in an old folks home with my grandmother. Dont know about the house though.

Well, I lost my virginity on this road while i was on cocaine. I was not expecting much but a ghost came up and slapped my *** because, I of course like it on top. My brother, who was on bottom had passed out by then. The stench of my sweaty balls filled the air. My menorah was burning bright. Anyway we got hit by the train. I am dead.

Me and three other friends went out to the cemetary about 3 mounths ago and did some EVPs and some pictures. Got nothing on the EVPS or pictures but on the way out I heared what sounded like A cat but my friend said it sounded like A baby crying we looked around and found nothing around that made that sound. So we went back in and the same sound happened again at the same spot. W looked around and as I was standing on the spot where the sound came from I heard it again but this time it was coming from my feet. I was really creeped out after that and said lets get the —- out of here real fast. Till this day I do not know what was making that noise but I will go back there and try and find out.

When i was younger about 24 years ago we went out there. The place was deffinetely wierd especially at night but we never saw any thing unusual. There were always rumours about homeless men being murdered in a barn around there or being killed by the bridge. One time my younger brother went there with his friends and they found a old barn that was close to bloods point and they went in the barn,They found alot of sado-masochism porn magazines and snuff magazines. So even if the area isnt haunted there is still a lot of bad energy in the area.

I have been there, and putting your car in nuetral is because the bridge is on a slope. Im not sure about the cemetary part but I know the bridge part is not real.
heres some things that we’ve heard about it:

Supposedly if you go back into the graveyard an old man with a gun will appear.

A black car will follow you, then when you get out it will dissapear.

And if you touch a certain gravestone you will hear a baby crying.

Sometimes you can hear a women scream.

Jared says:

I went here quite a few times, and another myth from here was if you park your car under the bridge for 5 minutes when you start it to leave it wont start! So the fool that i am i tested it out and when the clock hit the fifth minutes a freight train came out of no where ( i guess there is a bridge where the tracks are above you) and was loud as **** so i punched it outta there. i didnt get chased by anything that time. but a few other times cars and trucks come out of no where and will follow you until your pretty close the city limits!!

Amanda says:

November 26, 2007, 6:06 pm

Well, a few friends and I went out to bloods point a few years ago. I do believe it is haunted. As for the phantom truck, it is the groudskeeper for the cemetary. The truck chased my friends and I all over and almost ran us off the road until finally the police pulled us over and tried to charge us with trespassing in the cemetary. I explained to the police about the truck and they told me who he was and they he tries to scare people away from the cemetary because of vanadalism out there. So, the truck is not a ghost. It is real. And by the way, he leaves after he calls to cops. We did not get charged with trespassing because we had not vandalized anything.

November 26, 2007, 10:44 pm

Like most of you reading this now I too read all of these posts and wanted to give this myth a try. After doing some research and trying to map out where Bloods Point Rd. was I decided to drive out there with my friend Julie. We left my house at daytime and drove out there so we could easily get back in case we would get lost since we were driving into unknown territory in the middle of nowhere.. Anywhohow the first trip there we got a good sense of how to get there and back. After about 2 hours of driving we came across BLOODS POINT ROAD!!!! we took a right off of Cherry Valley Rd. at the stop sign with bullet holes in it which marked the beginning of Bloods Point Rd. As we drove down Bloods Point Rd. going East we noticed an abandoned house on the left hand side. We decided we were going to keep driving to get to the cemetery 1st and stop by the house on our way back. After a few minutes of driving down Bloods Point Rd. we arrived to the Cemetery we imagined this Cemetery to be very creepy and big, instead it was the opposite it was very small and not creepy at all which disappointed me some because of this long *** drive there. We pulled over and went inside the cemetery… once inside we looked at some of the gravestones and they were very old and that was pretty cool. Then I saw this house on the corner with a big black truck and I told Julie thatâ??s the â??ANGRY BLACK TRUCKâ? that chases people we both got a laugh out of it. We then proceeded to the back of the Cemetery and I got a weird chill up my back, I felt something really eery by one of the gravestones and the shed. We both walked into the shed and it didnâ??t seem weird at all…. There are some boards in there and some rusted old paint cans.. We then left the Cemetery heading back On Bloods Point Rd. We stopped by the weird abandoned house and went to the back and in the shed where we found old rusted mail boxes.. old street signs and an old lawnmower tractor.
We decided to go into the creepy house but none of the doors were open.. We finally found one open door on the side of the house. We went in and it looked very 50s.. We decided to leave but regret not actually going in to and into the basement to see if there were any crazy ghosts and such. We got back to the car and drove to the bridge and it wasnâ??t anything out of the ordinary accept the big Jewish star spray painted on the street… we decided to head back and return at night…
2nd Trip: We returned at night and I was pissed off cuz nothing scary happened so I decided to do doughnuts at the end of the road and honk my horn in hopes for the groundskeeper of the Cemetery a.k.a. ANGRY BLACK TRUCK to come chase us…but I guess he didnâ??t feel like chasing us because he didnâ??t come out or even yell at us.. maybe he wasnâ??t home but his big black truck was there. I finally gave up and went to the bridge to try out that myth about the kids pushing your car off. We put the car in neutral NOTHING HAPPENED !!!! (wasnâ??t expecting it to). To our great disappointment we headed back and we saw an old white abandoned farm house on the right and it looked really creepy so we didnâ??t stop because it was 11:30 PM and if something were to happen we were too far away from home, we decided we would come back with more people to check it out.

3rd Trip: By now I was really over obsessed with this place and the whole BLOODS POINT RD. myth that I went back with some more friends… Unfortunately we picked the wrong day to go back.. this was 2 days b4 Thanxgiving at 2 a.m. It was snowing and it sucked.. As we drove by the weird abandoned farmhouse I saw a ghost run across and it looked like the mother ******* devil himself… or maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me… whatever it was I donâ??t know we drove to the bridge and now it was dark.. Again we put the car in neutral and nothing happened… then we decided to try and find the â??Satanic Alterâ? on Poole rd. but it was really late and the roads were icy so we drove back. That was the end of that trip.

4thTrip: Again I was bored and had nothing to do… We got some other people that wanted to go there that payed us for gas and we drove there… we went into the graveyard and into the shed and we didnâ??t hear any voices nor did any paranormal things happen in the cemetery.. It was really cold so we drove back.. This time we stopped by the Old Abandoned Barn house.. We pulled into the driveway and I turned the brights on so we could have some light since it was late at night.. The lights started flickering and they turned off along with the car that was running to give us light. We decided to look in the old big sheds and we found that they were locked accept one wasnâ??t and it had some farming equipment in it. The house was falling apart so we didnâ??t go inside in case it would cave in on us we then drove back.

___ Iâ??m probably going to go back there again to the old barn house, the old house on Bloods Point Rd. the Cemetery and the â??Satanic Altarâ? in the middle of the woods. I will have pictures and footage of emâ?? all … if you wanna talk about this feel free to e-mail me

Hey, I just want to say that I really don’t think that they are pranks the first time I went out there I felt something very bad, I think that there are people down that road that do Santanic spells. And if you go down Sweeney After the bridge on you’re left side there is a place where you can pull over well me & my sister & my brother & my father went out there & we got of the car to see if we can get the farmer to chase us so my dad likes to play jokes on us, so he drives away leaveing me my sister & my brother there so we go after him all of a sudden this truck comes out of no where so my dad stoped after the bridge to let us in the car the truck was going really slow my sister and I loked at the people in the truck but the where glowing white as soon as the truck got about 2 feet in font of my dad’s car it disappered. Some friends and I went over the bridge recently. Nothing happened the first time over. We put the car in neutral. We had a strange feeling of a prescence surrounding us, but we left since nothing happened. We visited the cemetary at the end of the road, but there was no paranormal activity. On the way back, we headed towards the bridge again, but my friend who was driving slammed on the brakes before we could cross it. We were stunned to see the movement of small, black, human-form shadows crossing the road ahead. The shadows crossed the bridge and became floating red orbs! I’m not one to believe in this stuff, but I tell you I saw it with my own eyes! I will never go back there again…I could not sleep with the light off for days!

OMG People come on now. 99% of the gibberish posted is just that, PURE UNINHIBITED GIBBERISH!

I have been out there myself countless times, was into devil worship in the 80’s and was drawn to the place for that very reason. Nothing is out there aside from a creepy name for a road. No witches, no ghosts and no orbs.

What part of Urban Legend are you not understanding here? All these people going to some small communities’ place of rest and stirring up activity and disturbances, vandalizing the place and wreaking havok because of some urban myth they heard? Please be more realistic than that.

Do some research, check out Belvidere library and the Boone Cty zoning board. All the answers you seek are there. NOONE has ever been chased by a ghost vehicle (at most a drunken farmer pissed off at your prescence) there is no witch buried anywhere (in reference to the town of Flora, the Beuller buried there had NO HISTORY of any type of evils or misdoings).

You people are fools (to give you more credit than you deserve at that). Its a farm community that doesnt want bothered with your foolish urban myths and legends. For fux sake it is the year 2008 and kids and teens alike are flocking to this place for nothing. NOTHING IS THERE. Cattle walk the perimeter, the shed is old and decrepid and holds nothin that hasnt already been stolen.

Bloodspoint cemetery is nothing more than a typical old place of rest for past fallen loved ones. Why cant you people respect that and leave it alone? Noone died on a bridge, the tracks run under the damn thing. Nothing pushes you across, theres no ghost train and if anyone follows you or rams you off the road, its either a drunken farmer or some punks like you playing kid games.

DONT BE STUPID! Just leave the place alone, there is nothing there! I dont even live near there and you people annoy me to no end with your bunk, fictitious stories. DO some research, this foolishness MUST STOP.

I have gone out there several times. Yeah, the bridge is real creepy but anyones car can act up. However, I was chased by the big truck and then it disappears it is true. If anyone knows him or of these times hi

March 9, 2008, 12:11 am

Here, this is where you start if you really want to know whats real and whats 100% pure urban myth.

Pay the fees, become a member and you too will find the truth.

Your next step is the Belividere library. Dig around and all the answers you seek are there for you (but I doubt any of you will do the research).

Third step is to contact the Boone County zoning board. They can tell you who owns the land in all of Boone County and from there you can follow your own leads that it provides.

Fifth step is to take the information you find, go out there in the daytime, do a PROFESSIONAL report and talk to the people in the area. Tell them you are there to put an end to the myths and vandalism surrounding the area. Most of the people will be happy to provide information to you to end all this.

Sixth, go to the township of Flora during the day. Locate the church (Sunday is a good day to try no?) and talk to the minister there. BE PROFESSIONAL for fux sake.

Seventh, after all this, THEN go to the cemetery grounds WITH the groundskeeper (located adjecent to the cemetery) and have him tell you about it. Pay your respects to the fallen loved ones as you traverse the grounds and hear all the stories of vandalism and consecration that has taken place here.

Eighth, proceed down the road to the bridge crossing over the tracks. Park on the side of the road OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. Head down the hill to the tracks. Look around. You will see a light with red and green lights on a lightpole. Examine the bridge, the tracks, the pole. You will find theres nothing any different than any other set of tracks.

Ninth, Document all your conversations with the people of the area, take pictures of each place you visit, note all the documents you read. Be observant while travelling the area, there are “marker stones” at certain intersections, document them as well. There are “gateway stones” seemingly in the middle of nowhere along certain roads, document these as well. Examine and photograph the barn thats mentioned and any abandoned houses you encounter including the burnt down one on Poole Road taking pictures and making notes.

Tenth, go home with all your acquired information, find some cheap hosting or free homepage and post all of your results accordingly and professionally and add your page to google. You will find that (just as the host at the bottom of this page states [The Dumb Network] you too will feel the same).

Eleventh, with all your newly acquired information and your webpage hosted, take everything you have and head to the Belvidere library once more and dig around. It WILL take you hours if not an entire day to match all relevant information to the documentation that IS PROVIDED.

Twelfth, At this point you will have all the names of everyone in the Bloods Point Cemetery (named after a Johnathan Blood who first settled there and buried his family in the cemetery) as well as everyone buried in the Flora cemetery located at the church. You will also have all the details of any occurances/activity in the area as well as how many people have been arrested for trespassing.

Thirteenth, now dont you feel real stupid at this point? I HAVE done ALL this research. There is nothing there!

The typical scenerio (as I myself have often adventured) is two boys and two or three girls driving out in the area looking for a ghost adventure. At this point you are excited, adrenalized, creeped out by the constant flow of cornfields, past mindsets from horror movies and the drone of the road and tires coupled with the WORD OF MOUTH stories you have heard and/or read.

This alone creates a pre-set mindset as you approach the area. THEN you see the cemetery and it all becomes “true”. IT IS real at this point. Now your mind is set in “ghost-hunt mode” and the slightest stick snapping (a racoon looking for food), a vehicle approaching (others like you, the groundskeeper or a cop) and all hell breaks loose. The girls scream, leap in your arms, they are clenching the boys and fearful, the boys take on a “im a man Im not scared” mindset, they look to be the hero and by the end of the night everyone has gotten their kicks.

The truth of the matter is, its all a mind-trip induced by your own ignorance to the facts. You do all of it to yourselves. PERIOD. “The only thing to fear, is fear itself”. You scare yourselves shitless and thats all there is to it, so in the end it seems like this grand adventure when all it was, was a trip to the outskirts, where the farmland takes over from the city and there resides a cemetery of old.

{Continuance of the above post, my odd story]

I have a friend of whom I used to chill with back some 10 years ago (I am now 30 btw). Ill leave out his name but him and I used to work out in his garage til dawn building engines and working on cars and motorcycles and snowmobiles etc.

Well him and I and another sap (who is now dead due to OD of heroine) headed out to Bloods Point with two girls one night. Nothing interesting occured but the now passed person had proclaimed that he carved his initials in a tree with a knife (and I personally saw him at the tree with his knife) only to see them disappear after he finished. I looked at the tree and saw no initials or any carving, but I did see him working SOMETHING into the tree.

We actually parked INSIDE the cemetery and we were in an older Blazer. When we went to leave, the left turn signal on the dash was lit up, and remained so until we left the cemetery area. We then headed to the train bridge and drove down to it and parked by the tracks. We got out and walked along them a bit, it was very very cold (seemed far colder than it should have been), so we left and then plowed thru some cornfields (we were in a 4×4 Blazer) and that was real fun.

After that we drove around a bit and headed back and stopped at a gas station in Belvidere. We had corn husks in the brush guard of the blazer as well as all over the suspension. It was a pretty funny sight to behold, all this corn protruding from everywhere.

We headed back into town and dropped off the two girls and the now passed friend. I stayed with my friend who owned the Blazer and we went back to his place where I stayed the night. We were teens then for a reference.

I passed out not too long after but woke up and found my friend gone. I looked out the windows and noticed his garage light on (he had his own garage that we worked in). A few hours had passed and he lived approx. 40 mins from Bloods Point as a reference.

I went out to the garage and found my friends Blazer RUNNING inside the closed garage, he was in the drivers seat! I left the door open so the fumes could vent as I shut it down and pulled him from his truck and dragged him outside.

After some fresh air he coughed and weezed back from unconsciousness and went inside. I said I would close up shop and proceeded to do so. I entered the garage, closed his truck door and was about to head out when I noticed something. Wrapped around his brushguard was some fencing. After closer examination I realized, this was some sort of gate to a chainlink fence. I peeled it off and tossed it out back deep in the back of the property, tossing it out past his property line into a field.

I then headed in and crashed and forgot to mention it until some time later, when he never remembered any of the incident.

Well approx two weeks later I went out to Bloods Point again, this time with a different crew, only to find that half of the two gates on one of the entrances to the cemetery were missing! IT SEEMS my friend went back out there on his own, entered the cemetery (which the gates were open when we went there together) and got locked in, at which point he plowed through them.

I found this disturbing and to this day I do not know what really happened, but I DO know this much. He was in his garage with his vehicle running, sealed up near death with half of a chainlink fence gate wrapped around his brushguard and half of a gate was missing from ONE of the Bloods Point cemetery gates.

Thats the ONLY oddity I have EVER found out there (and I mentioned before I was into devil worship and whatnot, I used to go out there trying to summon demons from the grave to no avail (and I was highly skilled and experienced at doing so).

This was yet another case of the human mind manipulating ones self into “other-worldly” occurances. Very odd indeed.

AS A SIDE NOTE, THERES NOTHING OUT THERE TO SEE. PLEASE DO NOT bother those who (like you) are just trying to live their lives. Theres no ghosts, no lingering spirits nothing. Just the human mind and its oddities that come with being human.

Take it as you will.

IF HOWEVER you are one of the persons mentioned (and you know who you are [JH]) please contact me, as it has been a while since we have spoken. Ill post contact info for you, otherwise, please spare yourself the humility. I have no desires to argue with your schitzophrenia.

If you feel you are one of these persons please contact me at newave(at) as I would love to hear from you again. Obviously your research into this subject has brought you here.

I hope I have clarified some things for all of you. PLEASE do the research.

I now close out this story and my posts, as I doubt I will post much more, since there is really, nothing to see.

Please, use your friggin minds for once, its all you have left for freedom so leverage it.

OMFGPeople out.

I love to hear peoples’ stories about interesting places like this, whether they’re true or not. After reading a few here, however, I am amazed that most of the posters think they’ll secure any sort of credibility by using the grammer and punctuation of a 3rd grader. In a moment of optimism, with hope of returning to find readable material–here are a few things morons who choose to share their stories should consider.

1) There vs. Their vs. They’re – learn it
2) You can’t say “People THAT go there,” “I have a friend THAT…” It’s WHO for fux sake.
Places WHERE
Things THAT
Times WHEN
and people WHO
3) Punctuation — 300 word sentences? You’re an idiot.

This could go on all day, but I’ll stop at three since many of you are starting from scratch. Good luck.

i have been to bloods point, My buddy and i went and we were just driving along thinking this was a waste of gas, then i thought i had seen something near the cemetery. so we turned around stopped and we both got out of the car. i didnt see any of those orbs but i heard a really loud scream and a bunch of laughing. i was so freaking scared but i thought it was someone playing a trick on us. We walked to the back of the cemetery and all of asudden i got pushed down. my buddy started laughing cause he thought i has triped and fell. i told him dude i didnt trip i felt hands on my back with full force. we got back home and my heart was still pounding like a million miles an hour. i pulled up my shirt and there were red marks on my back that were marks of hand prints. i have never been that scared in my life ok. i am 24 years old and i almost started crying i was so scared. i am going to go back out there and take some pics with my infered camera. and just some basic pics with reg cameras mabye we will see some thing.

I have had an experiance on the bridge on sweeny rd.
Me and two friends decided to see if our car would be moved if we put it in nuetral on the bridge, justlike a ton of other people who live around here Im sure. So we drove out there and put the car in nuetral facing up hill, and waited for about ten minutes. We started laughing after a while at how silly the whole thing was and we were just about to pull away when the car started moving…up hill! it moved really with really jerky motion that was quite nerve wracking, as if someone was pushing it and having a hard time. We went most of the way across the bridge, but we got reall freaked out and so my friend threw the car in to drive and we busted out of there as fast as we could. It was very interesting and I am being comepletely serious. I dont consider myself easly convinced about ghosts, but dang, I could swear that we sure were pushed across that bridge.

I can’t say I’ve ever been there but it sounds interesting. I’m thinking it could be an amusing stop on my next road trip. But I’m surprised this site has nothing on the house in Watsaka. A girl was actually possessed there. I’ve been there a couple times. It’s really creepy.

About 7 years ago, A friend and myself went out to the cemetery. We were very disappointed that nothing was proved to us while walking through the cemetery. Although when we left we were followed by a large, very fast truck. We had no idea that this was a legend. (I didn’t until I found this site.. just now) We have not returned.. Since then I have moved away and joined a Paranormal Research Team and we plan on making a trip to the location very soon.

OK, I`m going to put this to rest.First let me say , my family has farmed in this area for over 100 years. One thing about the farming community is everyone knows everyone. Nothing happens without the whole community knowing about it.That being said, I went to Bloods point for the first time yesterday. Yes, I have heard all of the stories, witches, ghosts, all the good stuff.I looked on the net before I left to see what I might expect. One thing that stuck out was the black truck.I can`t tell you how many times I`ve chased people off of my property without regard for safety. You don`t pay the taxes on it ,stay the hell off of it. It`s not free range country. People out here stick together and look out for each other. If there is something going on we don`t like, then your out of here.Anyway, I checked out the cemetery, the bridge, and the house at the end of the road. Just old relics of days gone by. So I came home and started thinking about the whole thing. Next thing you know, I`m on the phone with my mother, asked her about the graveyard, never heard of it. Asked about the bridge(bus wreck), never heard aboutthat either, although she did tell me several children died in a school bus accident right in front of the house I grew up in. So that makes sense, things get twisted. Thats probably the wreck they talk about. No I`m not going to tell you where it was at(11 miles north).

04/24/2008 tonight scott, christal, sue and linda went to this blood point cem and took pics. 8 out of 10 pictures had orbs in it. sue believed she saw a yellow light moving around in there. we also saw shadows as well as heard growling, whispers and footsteps. scott went to the shed and heard whispers. there are rumors that there is a cult that goes there and behind the shed dead cats were found. we all felt that we were being watched and followed. our video that we took stopped working 2 min after we got there, but worked just fine when we left. we have voices on our voice recorder, not sure yet that it said. we are still going through it. i just want everyone to know that the thing about the black truck is not real. every state has a thing about a black truck that chases people and well as the bus. i lived in colorado and we had the same thing about a cave. all these stories date back for hundreds of years. none as been proven.

Ok I live on Bloodspoint and have since I was ten months old and before that I lived in Irene. These stories are not true I live three houses away from the so called haunted bridge and I have had parties and we have gone down to the bridge and nothing has ever happened since I have been around so. Don’t get me wrong I believe in ghosts more than anyone I know and I would love for this to be true but it isn’t, sorry. It is just that a story a story to scare people and give kids who live practically in the middle of nowhere something interesting to talk about or go and try out. and the truck that chases you isn’t on Bloodspoint it is on Pool Rd. the next road as you are going to Belvidere and that isn’t true either and the bridge you park under is on Pool also not SWEENEY the bridge itself is calle SWEENEY and that stuff isn’t true either.

hi i live in cherry valley and i do believe in ghosts but ive been to bloods point many of times and nothing has ever happened so last weekend me and my friend grabbed our bikes and headed out there with no cell phones or anything just our bikes water and cigarettes, we got there and went under the bridge to set up some stuff because thats where we stayed over night 1st of all, all the myths surrounding bloods point are all hype just because of the name of the street which was named by the first man in the area “arthur blood” we found a sign on the bridge that said it was built in 1990 which disproves the school bus myth and the cemetary is nothing out of the ordinary its just an old cemetary and as far as the ghost or phantom truck i have never seen it and i have been there countless times. if your going to waste your time to go there you might as well go the opposite direction of the cemetary and drive down bloods point until it turns to poole take a right and you will find an old wooden bridge this is probably the creepiest place i have been acount of the cults that meet there but other than that its a complete waste of time so have fun wasting your time

YEs, i read these stories last week, and last night me and 4 of my friends decided to go down there, last night was also the 4th of july,OMG, that rhode is so creepy, i was driving! so we were going down there listenin to kanye west(best rapper alive) and my theory is bloods point isn’t haunted, maybe the cemetary, but as far as the rhode , i don’t think so. bilive it’s all them little off streets, like irene!!,going down that rhode we got chased by a car ,it looked like it was floating over the cornfields,,t super high speeds!!, then the lights faced us, and it came ZOOOMing at us. everyone in the car screamed, by the time we got away from it. it looked like it just vanished…as i’m typing this it doesn’t sound scary..i also seen a couple ghost, but i’m use to that it didn’t bother me much. but i’m never going back there again, there is somethin wrong about that place , can’t point it out, some around them parts,,just doesn’t want you over there.whatever it is i advise to just to leave it alone, it’s fun ,,until you acutally see something, then the jokes over. please stay away from there, i’m not even joking.

After reading all the nonsense or 99 percent of it that everyone has typed i decided to check the place out for myself. I do believe in ghosts and paranormal occurences because I have been a victim of seeing a ghost and have had experiences with strange things that have occured with relatives or friends that were in the process of dying or have died. Im trying to keep an open mind to all the stories that are associated with bloods point cemetery and the phantom truck and so forth. I have seen pictures of the orbs people are talking about that have been seen in the cemetery. Upon doing internet research there was a professional ghost hunting team that went in the cemetery i believe in 2000 or in that time frame. They reported very abnormal temperature changes along with orbs caught on camera in the dark and also i do believe they found something that had to do with magnetic activity in the cemetery also. Now i dont know if any of this has anything to do with ghosts or not but i do find it to be an interesting phenimenon. But one thing we have to rememeber is, let the dead rest in peace and have some respect. It is easy to get caught up in all the hype of ghosts and things of this nature but rememeber none of us will know if any of this is true until we cross the plateau of death. I do believ some of it is true though due to the fact i used to work in a cemetery when i was in high school and i saw some fairly strange things and felt some very abnormal occurences around me. It is very strange but i do believe cemeteries have these presences. The only advice i can give to thrill seekers is show some respect for the dead and dont mess around trying to seek answers for yourself at the expense of the dead.

About 5 years ago or so, me and my husband had some friends who lived in Rockford and they were ghost chasers, and they convinced us that we should check this place out called Cherry Valley and this road called Bloods Point rd, (which is now called B.P Rd)i didnt want to go because just the thought of it freaked me out. So we went, 2 cars, me, my husband, his best friend, and my best friend, and our friends in Rockford, and then their roomates. We were on Poole rd where we saw on our left side a cement wall about 6 or 7 feet high, and on our right side was a dirt patch where you could pull over. There was some rubble that they say was an old saanic church, but i dont really know that for sure. Next to the rubble was a white penticle star made of white rocks. We also crossed the feild and tried to walk into the woods, and once we stepped into the woods all of our flashligts stopped working, and it became silent (keep in mind this was summer, and we were by woods so we heard all the night noises of bugs and crickets and such), so we freaked out, and went back to the cars, also tried to take pictures of the rubble, with a flash, and it just came out black….also we went up the road to the bridge, however i dont know what other people are talking about because its a small bridge that only one car can go through at a time, and you go under the bridge, not over it. We tried taking pictures of the bridge with our camera, and the headlights from the car, but nothing came out except the reflectors on the side of the bridge. NOW here is the really creepy part…..we were driving, and un-known car (not truck) started to follow us, turning their lights on and off at us. We tried turning into other streets but this car would not stop, it was a 2 door or 4 door, and it looked like at least4 people were in the car….we once turned, parked, got out of our cars, and the un-known car just sat there before a stop sign. This continued for about 20 minutes or so, and then we left, came out on Belvidere Rd, and the car turned around and left.

Now this part may be just coinsidence, or part of this creepy place. We lived in Crystal Lake, and we were going home about 2 or 3 in the morning, and we were driving on RT 20, which is only a 2 lane rd. Our friends were in the back doozing off, and my husband was trying to help me stay awake, and I saw a car coming towards me, who started to turn his lights on and off at me, while coming towards me, I told my husband, and our friends woke up, and the car lights went off, and then back on right in front of me, I swirved, and the car went in cirles ending up across both lanes, and while the dust settled and we collected ourselves, one of our friends told me to DRIVE NOW, because he noticed the person who tried running us off the road, had stopped and turned around. Needless to say i pealed out of there and sped home as fast as i could. To this day I will neer return to that place because it gave off such an erie feeling. Another weird part is while we were driving on Poole Rd, and we noticed that we were passing the same streets over and over, and we did find a small cemetary, and that must have been the most peacefull place there, because once we stepped into the cemetary we all just felt calm.

We MIGHT go out there, ANGRY BLACK TRUCK has been my contact on AIM. Telling me things, which I wont say until I get his permission. I DID find some info though, like that theres cults and the home/abandoned house was a slaughterhouse, ANGRY BLACK TRUCK said he saw a sacrificed like lamb or dog by the shed. Also I think he said something about a chainsaw. Also that theres an alter in the woods and cults skin an animal like every thursday. All the cult stuff I did NOT get from ANGRY BLACK TRUCK except the animal he saw, and he’s got some pretty good pics. My team MIGHT go out there and if we do we promise to finish the arguements once and for all.

p.s. Email me at or GunsNRosesfan89 on myspace if you know anymore haunted spots in Illinois especially Rockford. Thanks, especially 2 ANGRY BLACK TRUCK.

I have a few personal experiences at bloods point and the “turn around” on pool rd. I have a picture of a figure that I guess I can describe of what death looks like, with the robe and hood, and another picture from the turn around of something floating. I also have an E.V.P of someone saying “husband” as my friends husband walked up to us while we were recording. At the turn around, I have heard eerie moaning that seemed to be right above me, I have friends who have also had experiences there. I have not been to the bloods point cemetery that often, but I have spent a lot of time at the turn around and I know for a fact that that area is haunted by more than one spirit. As for being chased by a vehicle, I have been chased by a car once and I have never seen a truck, but I think it is just other young adults having fun. This area is right in my mothers back yard, so once I was able to drive, I have been all over that area and I have seen and heard a lot of spooky and unexplainable things, sometimes just sitting on the side of the road driving by it! I have been doing this for about 20 years, though not as much as I used to. I have not been on the bridge where the kids supposedly push you, and I have heard that when you drive under the bridge that is past the turn around, if you look back you can see bodies hanging, I have not see them. That area is supposedly where the KKK did there hangings. I have heard about cults doing things on Halloween in the cemetery, so I have not gone out there at that time because I don’t want to know! Happy Hunting to whoever goes out there!!

Jason says:

I drove out there last night with a few friends, the the thing where you get pushed across the bridge in neutral is true it really happens, and the ghost car is real too. There was a car coming at us with no place to turn off the road and the headlights just disappeared out of nowhere. Then we heard foot steps in the graveyard and saw shadows moving from grave stone to grave stone. After that we went to the train tracks where you can walk under them. We wanted to see if we had the balls to go down under there and smoke a cigarette, as soon as we stepped out of the car we hear a deep grunt from under the bridge then the wind picked up and the bushes blew towards us like something was coming at us, so we got back into the car and tried booking it only for the car to be stopped and start idling really loud on top of the railroad tracks, and we got stuck there for about 10 minutes. I would rather die and go to hell then ever go back to that god forsaken place.

Mike T says:

October 20, 2008, 11:57 am

Well Everything Jason said is true i was the one who first got out of the car by the tracks and my buddy Zach got out behind me… i took a step towards the bridge and and a loud deep growl/scream from hell came out from under the bridge and the bushes blew towards us like a heard of ghosts came dashing at us, i screamed and grabbed Zach and shoved him back in the car and we tried to take off but the car was just sitting in park and the idle was really fucked up it was revving and Andrei’s foot was not on the pedal.. everyone in the car heard the growl and we were as white as Casper. so we took off down the road and went back to BL PT. and as we drove past the cemetery everyone in the car got the chills down there spine and shivered so we got to the bridge on Bloods point so we pulled up on the bridge and we put the car in neutral and we sat there for about 30-45 seconds then very slowly the car started to move so we all just sat there and let it roll then finally we just got too scared and took off. so we went down the road turned around and stopped in front of the cemetery. and Me, Zach and Jason walked in. we were looking for Thomas Carlson’s headstone, i read if that you sit on top of it you get mysteriously pushed off, Zach wanted to sit on it, so we got about halfway through the yard and Zach stopped and was like “SHH don’t move do you guys hear that” me and Jason looked around wide eye and we heard footsteps behind us, sure enough Jason Turns around and there was a black figure moving headstone to headstone, so we took off got in the car and boogied out of there.. Oh yeah we also saw the disappearing car it looked like it turned onto the street and was coming towards us, and sure enough the headlights disappear, there was no where to go, no road to turn onto or anything it just vanished. also one our way up there we hit a black cat on IL-23, so we figured it would be a spooky night anyways… one more thing, this personally is my second time out to Bloods Point, so i knew the area pretty good and was familiar with the haunting’s, the first time i went out there was even worse. except for the scream from the bridge. this was the second time i had seen the black shadow figure, the vanishing car, being pushed over the bridge, and seeing the car start revving by itself in neutral. The last time we were by the bridge where we heard the scream the car turned off, the key turned by itself to the off position. also both times I’ve been out there we’ve hit animals, the first time two raccoons at once, and we went to see if the remains there was nothing there, we went up general area where we hit them and sure enough on the third pass the blood spots and body appeared on the road right in front of us… weird… By The way everything i type is the god honest truth, Bloods point is Haunted.

NOT.. the story is the same, but different slightly, and still is BOGUS! thought iâ??d let u know!

There were kids that died in a bus accident in Belleville on a flat road with train tracks. I have not been there since highschool, but I was there on two occasions. One was in highschool we took the bus to Belleville for who knows what reason, could have been a basketball game or something; I don’t remember it really, and the bus stalled here and took a while to start again, that was on our way home. The bus was moving after a bit, slowly, and with so many people in the bus I remember people getting freaked out by the fingerprints on the back windows that were illuminated by the steam and heat inside (when the outside was colder).

Going back my senior year with my brother, and a friend, we made sure to wash my car thoroughly by hand, then took it through a car wash. Bringing a carpenters level, some flashlights, flour, talc powder, and reflective tape we went out to the road before night and parked a ways up the road. Walking down to the area, we stood on each side of the road, used the tape by tossing it to the other person to tape off where we would STOP to see if we would be pushed in the car. We used the carpenters measure to see if the ground and road was even (it was pretty well even), and also used it every 5′ till we got to the back of my car (it didn’t change all that much, meaning the ground this happened on is pretty flat; considering how wisconsin is full of hills; I would not think it would be enough to get my car going). Then my brother spread the flour on the road with an old pillow sack. Taking pictures before we started, throwing talc powder all over my car and using the whipers to get it off my windshield, and of the road to compare with when we got done we were ready to try this.

So. I started the car, let it get up to about 30 miles an hour, enough to COAST to the tape mark (with my brother and friend in side), that way I could literally STOP at the tape mark that was illuminated a bit through the flour thrown down and put it in neutral. We chit-chatted for a while, not really talking about anything particular, and not moving either. Sure enough the car started to move; albeit kinda roughish. Not smoothe, like effortlessly pushed, but like trying to get a start before getting smoothe.

When we finally went over the intersection area and slowed down, it was a good.. oh… 20ish yards if I remember, before we stopped, and stopped talking. The first thing we did was look around inside the car at the windows, there were some smudges on the back rear, and back side windows. Getting out, it was pretty dark by then so we had to use flashlights, I tossed the tape over the road to my brother, and taped the front of the car off. My friend started snapping images with two disposable cameras from the first tape area with flower, to the front of the car, the car itself, and a really nice image of the moon. My brother measured the offset of the road, which went UP a bit, but again not by much. We didn’t bother inspecting the road much, besides to notice our tracks in the flour and taking the tape off the road. The car, however, had a number of half-hand, finger, and full-hand prints along the back, near the tail lights, bumper, and rear panels, then smudges on the windows. I believe we just ended up wasting the rest of the film on the other camera taking images of it the best we could. At the time I was driving an older dodge charger, the two door version that was more or less your ‘sports style’ version of an Omni (hahahaha man I loved that car).

I don’t have the images of that night I don’t think, unless they are in a box somewhere. I can check when we move. I do remember, however, ‘shuffling’ scrapes along our tire tracks that remind me of ‘dust devil’ patterns you see in sand or driveways when you get those really windy days up here in the hills of WI.

So that I know at least IS true. Matilda, that story I heard about Illinois, as well as the Goat Man’s House, in Lena.

I tell you, though, washing the talc off in the morning was darn annoying. We ended up pressure washing the car at our house to get it off cause it stuck annoyingly; spent the rest of the day making some cookies, dropping the film off in Monroe to get developed, and grabbing taco bell.

I should go again and do this; gotta remember exactly where the road is. I don’t even think there is a train track there any more, just the intersection and a flashing roadlight or something. It’s been years.

I won’t say that this haunting in Illinois is fake, or real. I haven’t personally been there. I am sure similar things happen all over the world, not everything these days are ‘unique’ just to one location; unless it is something spectacular or truely horrible to a specific place.

we went during the day as it turned to night and at first there was really nothing just a sense of despair and dread. but as night fell we began to see shadows move inside the shed at the back. we went into the shed and poked around for a moment or two, took a couple of pictures and all of a sudden we heard children screaming. we decided maybe we should leave when all of a sudden the various articles littering the floor began to crash wildly as if someone had kicked them but it continued even as we were running out the door. also one of the pictures that we took in the shed clearly shows a human skull larger than life almost as if an apparition. needless to say we got in our car and left rather quickly. as we went back down bloods point road towards river road we stopped in front of the strange abandoned house for a moment. we had the radio off but all of a sudden it came on and at the same moment my nephews phone died, another oddity of the cemetery is that as we were walking through it, far to our right we could hear footsteps moving through the grass as if someone were walking with us. now i know you will believe what you will but for us three, it was a very real experience. we will return tomorrow.

This story is not true most of the people that i know say that it does not work so i went out there by myself and learned that it was not true and i ran into some guys that told me the real story. what really happened was a farmer who owned the farm up the road had two slaves and a daughter and the slaves raped his daughter so the farmer hung them both and now they haunt the bridge and if you go there and yell at the slaves in a mad voice they will try and harm you so i reccomend if you do this bring friends do not do it alone.

I do belive in spirits and haunted places, I can write a book on what I belive is the true explanation that everyone will think is crazy. For all the paranormal activite reported all over the world. I have never experienced any thing paranormal activity in my life, but just because I have not experienced anything does not mean I do not belive in all the spirits reported. I am looking for three places to investigate in illinois and I have just found my third one. I do need some more information on this place such as, all the streets that are said to be haunted, which streets turn into which. pictures of the activity reported, the police if you get aressted for trespassing for I am a triple felon and am on probation, what hours you can go to the graveyard without trespassing, who do you need to contact to get permission for ivestigating after graveyard hours, and the history of the place. I will do as much research as possible about this place. If anyone can help me with these question please contact me my email is

We came back only to find the car about 300ft. away from where we originally parked it. We shined a flashlight on the back of the car and it was covered with tiny hand prints. TRUE STORY** NO JOKE**

Which cemetery is everyone talking about? I was just out there two weeks ago and went to two cemeteries. One of the cemeteries was next to a golf course and the other was out in the country down a really steep hill and then up another steep hill. I can’t remember the name of the second one, but I can tell you that there was a tomb stone out there in the shape of lips. It is the grave of a young girl who was about 5 months pregnant. You do get a little bit of a feeling like someone is there with you, but other than that, nothing. The first cemetery, next to the golf course is just still and quiet with nothing going on at all. I know there is a haunted cemetery out there, I just have never found it. Can someone give me directions?

Ooook. first off no such thing ever happened with a bus careeening off a bridge, never. second Ive been in and all around bloods point and sweeny and wheeler and blah blah, ive been in abandoned houses and the graveyard and you guys have you legends backwards and messed up. first off the graveyard.. there are two stone trees, the one closest to the shed is supposedly marking the graves of witches, the top of the tree is hollow, some people call it the money tree, ive heard other names for it as well well i stuck my hand in the hole on the top of the tree and it was warm, mind you it was about 50 degrees out, the shed contrary to popular belief does not house spirits of little kids, the shed however is a messed up place, the first time i ever went in the shed we found an upside down pentagram painted in blood on the floor and a mutilated rabits carcass next to it, obviously the handiwork of some poor confused teen aha. well the other part of the graveyard story is that the house next to it is sposed to be haunted or whatever, FALSE the cemetarys keeper lives there, and will shoot at you, you are trespassing, if you look at the stop sign at the intersection youll notice buckshot in the sign, as for the bridge it is creepy but absolutly not haunted because of a bus or whatever people say now. the original legends behind bloods point seem to be somewhat lost, apparently the bloods were a family who owned a plantation out there and were fairly predominent, aparently the house burned down people were murdered etc. etc. there was also a church that has burned down in the past few years out there but was said to house rituals of some sort, and that a farmer had hanged himself and hence is why it was abandoned, trying to dig up the actual past of bloods point is a mighty big pain but give it a shot, the truth may suprise you

ok, i went to bloods point about a month ago with some friends about 3-3:30am and it was totally bogus, we saw the cemetery, we saw and went inside the shed where kids supposedly committed suicide and it was bogus, there were like 2 or 3 cars that passed by but it wasnt anything special so idk why people are so worked up about it and yes we did go on the railroad tracks and nothing happened, but we never found or saw a bridge with the alleged nooses. but anyways, i do live within 20minutes of it and i could go back anytime i want but i have no desire to return there, its just a waste of gas and theres nothing but corn and abandoned barns so if you do go, i think the most fun is messing around in the old barns =)

Okay…me and my friends have been coming here for the past few days. We have not experienced much yet, but then again we have been there before 11 p.m. If you go, I suggest that you go after midnight. It is said that more hauntings occur after midnight. 3 a.m. is the supernatural hour. One experience is when a friend and I took a picture with a weird smokey white like wind them above us. Nobody was smoking behind us and neither of us were smoking. We don’t know what this is but if you would like to see this picture you can reach me at We plan to go there sometime this week & next week sometime, after midnight. We like to ghost hunt. Another experience is a few of us could have sworn that we saw the traffic train light on the left side. Earlier it was on the right. I will make a further post about more experiences. Until then, you can reach me at We have a few pictures of orbs. And that one picture I was talking about.

I was at the bridge back in 1984. It had wooden rails back then and my friend sat on one of the rails. It broke and he almost fell on to the tracks. About a year later after a few beers my friends and I decided to drive out to the cemetary and dared each other to go back to the cement shed. I was about 18 yrs old. It was about 1AM. While we were back there a car parked behind mine. We thought we were busted by the local sheriff but as we got closer we saw what looked like a white hearst from the 1940’s. Somebody inside it was smoking a cigerette It just sat there for about 30 sec and then left. We got out of there asap! I still live about 5 miles away. I am now 42 yrs old and still to afraid to go in that place again!!

I live in Rockford which is 5min away from Cherry Valley and I’ve been to bloods point about 10 times and it pretty scary, but do not go to the cemetery because there is a cop waiting. Some people say that cop is a ghost which i kinda believe because me and my friends got pulled over once by him and he seemed very weird and did not arrest us or give us a ticket even though it was past curfew for people 18 and younger. All he told us is to not go back there.

Lmfao, I’ve heard so many stories about this place.
I’ve heard that a bus with children with special needs got in a car accident on the bridge and they all died. Now if you put your car in neutral on that bridge, the kids will puch you off. also, if you look in the creek you will see a head of one of the dead bodies.
I’m going there around halloween to see if its true.

I went out there and was cruising over the bridge with the train tracks underneath. Just taking a leisure ride in my sports car. Heard about the kids on the bus getting hit by a train, but didn’t think much about it. So then I near the bridge, and there is this kid sitting on the cement pillar there right by the start of the bridge, swinging his feet back and forth. He didn’t scare me or anything, just gazed at me as I drove by. This is a rural area, there are not many houses in the area, so I doubt it was some kid just playing. Anyway, I get about 3/4 mile down and decide to turn back to see it again. When I go back, the kid was gone, no trace of him, just corn fields. It spooked me a little.

Suposively the church pass the city of irene on Flora Church road use to be a satanic church… I have gotten pictures of orbs at that church along with one from both sides sitting right on top of the church in the same location. Went by where it was supposed to be haunted and NOTHING. BUT… While driving away we came up to the next intersection and it wasas if we ran over a deer or something just as large. We were coming to a stop and going very slow so we pulled up a bit and looked back and there was nothing there.
We also went to the bridge on Sweeney Rd. and nothing happened.

I live nearby in Genoa. I’ve driven by the cemetary many times at night and never saw a black truck or anything standing in the road. Yes, the rail bridge was rebuilt several years back. Lately the neighbors have been calling the Boone County police so don’t get caught in the cemetery after closing time. As were comming back down the road a car speeds up behind us really fast. Other cars were turning around in front of us. they got behind us, seemed like they couldnt go down the road anymore…too scared i guess. as the other car got behind us the vehicle that was going really fast speeds up on their tail. we get far ahead of them. as we look back the fast vehicle flashes its headlights at the car and we see the car apin out. there was no other headlights behind it anymore. we were not going back to look. i think we topped out the speed on the car

fee to spend the night there. I know stories are stories, and rumors are rumors, but I hear none has been able to stay past 1 a.m. without fleeing the house. In 2 weeks I am planning to visit Earling, Iowa. It is well documented that in 1912, a case of exorcism took place on Emma Schmidt that lasted for months. I will be happy to share any information on this
forum. P.S. Are there any one familiar with the apartment building on Evans

his friend’s Father who lived at this apartment. Even today my son is consistent on every event he witness in the Apt.The Korean man who owned the building (I think his name was Khan) said he believes, because the last tenant commited suicide after playing with a Quija board. Thanks

To the person who posted the comment under “Your School Master says;” on oct. 14th, complaining about spelling, you spelled grammar wrong, its not spelled grammer. If you are going to complain to everyone about spelling and Grammar, at least spell it right yourself!

WOW!!!! go get a life. its amazing that people are so bored with there life. You must be some fat uglie slob that has no life let alone a girlfriend that you spend your day on spell check pointing out misspelled words. Why do people think they have to point out other peoples faults but then have there own…

Scott says:

I’m not sure who is more bored or pathetic…people complaining about the spellcheckers.. or the people who spend time “making up” their so-called ghost stories based on historical events which never occured

WOW!!!! Scott, sounds like you have “MENTAL ISSUES” like Mr. spellchecker in
terms of anger management. “Bored or Pathetic” People??? What do you think your comment implied! If these comments are “made up” stories as you indicated, why are you on this web site? I suggest you and the other ***$*^# GO to W.W.W. OXYMORON ARE US.COM

WOW!!! Larry sounds like you have the same “MENTAL ISSUES” in terms of anger management. You also can’t seem to differentiate between fantasy and reality… and you passed that onto your son. Perhaps some concrete evidence rather than your anecdotal stories would carry more weight with the readers. BTW I have some wonderful stories, where I captured Bigfoot feeding the Lochness Monster on film… but while driving home on Bloods Point Rd the film was destroyed by aliens. Its a true story… really…

Sorry if you thought I was talking about you in the rest. All I was really directing at you was the first question. Sorry if you were confused. I also believe in the stories. I’ve had some of the same experiences at bloods point, being that I live in Rockford. If they don’t believe the stories they shouldn’t be on this site. That just proves what you said. They have no lives. They have to start stuff with people they don’t know on the internet. Sorry again Stephanie.

Oh your just fine i grew up in Machesney Park and moved away just shy of my 19th bday. I will say you dont have to apologise. But thank you.
My teen years revolved around bloods point and ghost stories in my adult hood come from there.. I had my most odd experiances there. I do wonder if anyone still goes out there since i live 800 miles away..I hope you get to Dani. I wish i was there with you .. Your expression is no diffrent then mine why do they come here to nag? Its sad to me. So has anyone checked up on the history of the land and the odd things that have happened to that area? has there been anymore unexplained things since my absence of 13 years? Id love to hear it. Fill me in.

Dani says:

I haven’t been out there in a while. It’s usually crawling with cops, of course. But I really wanna go out there again. And I haven’t really heard about anything new going on out there. However I have heard that not much of anything happens out there very much. But like I said, I really would like to go see for myself.

Stephanie says:

January 31, 2010, 9:44 pm

You know its better just to look up the stuff that happened out there then risk the cops stopping you trying to accuse you of trouble.. I went there allot and had alot of fun.. I hope if you make it out there you dont have any trouble and you see something interesting. but go to the Rockford Public Library they have the Cherry Vally newspaper and go as far back as they have. I remember reading in the 50’s or 60’s there was a house that was there when a couple drove by then 15 minutes later they went by again and the house was gone and the family reports say that the house seemed to spotaniously cubust. Then there was a report that a guy stabbed himself multiple times on the strange bridge that everyone had talked about and fell down to the tracks abd it said that the tracks haddent been used for a few years but then they stated that a train ended his life.. Weird things..If you happen to go to the library and find other odd things let me know..

Just got back from Bloods Point with my daughter and 2 friends. Tonight was a full moon. We went armed with flashlights camcorders, digital cameras and cell phones. i have to say I am pretty bummed. I was hoping for some kind of a sign as I am a believer. I have had a few encounters in my time, but that is for another day. I have to say there was a lot of traffic tonight. There were at least 4 other cars when we were at the cemetary and several (at least 5) on the bridge. unfortunately this was not our night to see anything. We tried the trick with baby powder on the trunk of the car and got nothing. Although while on the bridge someone
stopped on the other side and parked but left the engine running. I and 1 other witness swear we saw the car move forward a very small amount, like it was being pushed but somehting was stopping it.???
As far as at the cemetary, there was a huge light by one of the entrances that lit up everything but the corners. Anyone know when that was put up??
Sure would appreciate the feedback. And WHERE was the shed?? There is no shed there now. If you come in from BP Road was it in the far back left
corner??? It appeared that something may have been there and been leveled.
There was not much grass and lots of large tire tracks which looked like tractor or heavy duty equipment> Has anyone else been there recently and
do you agree??

The only thing that did happen was 3 out of the four of us heard “something”???! 1 person didn’t say anything till we were back in the car so I don’t believe this was a hoax. She said it sounded like a very low cough. What I heard sounded more like leaves rustling or the
noise you sometimes make when you are trying not to make noise or get noticed. At no time did I feel like I was being watched or have a feeling of uneasiness.

Two of us stayed in the car on the bridge and two of us got out and checked it out. The two that got out and looked over the bridge rail
said they felt a pressure in their chest.?? Right over the railroad tracks
on the right side of the bridge as you are headed to the cemetary there was a drawing on the road of what appeared to be the devils head with some
squiggles around it?? we are posting pictures to the computer as you can sometimes see things in them that you cant on the camera and checking the video. We will post again if anything shows up.

Two the four guys that stopped us on the bridge with the EFS would like to hook up with you again if you are interested in checking out other haunted spots. I’ll check this sight on a regular basis. I’m hooked!!! Happy Hauntings!

P.S. Let’s just remember please to be respectful in these places. I’m working on my family genealogy and it took me forever to find one of them
because someone thought it was okay to vandalize the stone. Even though they have departed they are someone’s family.

Such active imaginations. There is nothing creepy about the area other than the name. There is no history of hauntings, other than anecdotal information provided in these posts. i was scared out of my mind to go there..we went sat on the bridge in neutral and nothing happened. the scary thing though is that the house next to the bridge is led to believe that all lights are on and the front door is always open.. when we went past all the lights were on and the front door was open. we parked to stand around and talk and a black truck went past and a car pulled into the driveway of the house left the car lights on the whole time we were out there and finally turned them off after we went past the house to leave. otherwise nothing else happened with ghosts.

It’s pretty scary. This is all junk! The bridge is not haunted and there never was a crash there. The cemetery is not haunted either. People have been arrested for trespassing in the cemetery. If you put your car in neutral on a slope of course its going to to roll…..DUH people.

Lea says:

October 31, 2010, 6:07 pm

Okay, there is no proof that the school bus accident happened, and no that bridge is not actually on Blood’s Point Rd. The story is that there was a family living on that road, and also a witch. The children of the man made friends with the witch and when people found out the whole town shunned the family. The father went crazy and hung himself and the children on the bridge. That is why the bridge is haunted. The story of the school bus and the children originated somewhere else…I saw it on the travel channel or something like that where they actually tested it. If that had actually happened here there would be something published about it. The real hauntings take place supposedly at the witches house and underneath the bridge. The cemetery has as much chance as any other to have spirits seeing that people are buried there.
The truck thing, honestly, I believe that is someone messing with people unless someone has seen it happen during the day. Because it is a country road with no lights if you turn your lights off right behind someone they won’t be able to see you. I’v turned the lights off on my car out there before and it is pitch black all around.
I haven’t gone out there with the people that I know that have been to the witch’s house so I don’t know what house it is but I have been to the cemetery, and over the bridge and just driven on the road. The thing that scared me was while driving on the road my friend turned his lights off to freak us out and then we he turned them back on there was a black cat right in the middle of the road. I’m not saying that is a legend and that will happen to you or anything, but I do believe that was a sign to leave.

I was just out there last night & all tht we experianced was almost hitting a dear! I took plenty of pictures & nothing showed up, the bridge thing doesnt work, tried it. The cemeteries are bull, all it is, is graves from the mid-late 1800’s. Bloods Point is scary in the stories, but if you actually go, nothing happens, its just your imagination messing with you. You believe what people tell you, my opinion.
If you really want to get scared, go to St.Augustine, Floida. I used to live there a few yrs ago, & the old fort (the first town ever found in the united states) is quite the scare! Go around witch hrs (2-4am). The Lighthouse, the ols fort, the dock, the bed & breakfests, ect in tht area of St.Augustine is one of the scariest places in the world. If you do your research right, you’d know tht place is freaky! Rockford hauntings are nothing compared to St.Augustine!
Just to let you know,
Bloods Point is just a big lame story tht people make up to scare others!

My friends and I went out there a couple years ago, there is no bridge on Bloods Point Rd. but the one we ended up on over tracks we tried to see if the stories were true but they weren’t, just had a black mustang trying to scare us off. Not sure if other rumors are true or not, but all you’re gonna get out of your trip out there is flashing red and blue lights in your rear-view mirror and a pig coming to your window telling you to get out of there. Yeah the pigs ruin everything, let us have our fun.

Me, my husband, my sister and her boyfriend all went out to Bloods Point Road last night and went to the cemetery. We were there for about an half an hour and nothing happened. It was really interesting reading the the tombstones. Some of the tombstones told when the individual was born but didn’t say what year the individual died which was kind of strange. We didn’t see the church. We heard that the church was torn down. But then again it was really dark and we really couldn’t see that well. I wanna go back during the day time to see if we can spot the church. My sister’s boyfriend couldn’t remember exactly where the church was. After we left the cemetery we went across the bridge where the railroad tracks are. We didn’t stop the car to get out. I kinda didn’t wanna get out of the car for fear that something would happen, lol, since nothing happened at the cemetery. It was awesome driving down Bloods Point Road. Hearing about the stories that happened on that road. Maybe we will go out there again and see if anything happens. I hope they didn;t tear down the church. I would really like to see it!

Yiovan says:

This is actually all horse ****. I live not even 10 minutes from there and go there almost every weekend to mess with the people that actually think somethings going to happen. We usually chase people just to make them think it’s the “ghost” mustang. Most fun is the cemetery. Nothing happens but since your paranoid you start “seeing” things.

i’ve been to bloods point and the haunted places on it. wash your car, sprinkle baby powder on it, walk into the cemetary, there will be handprints on the car when you go back to it. put the car in neutral in the center of the bridge and if your car is capable of it turn it off while in neutral, you will start to drift into the right lane and move forward… the bridge is flat in the middle so no downhill shenanigans. if you climb down to the tracks beneath the bridge, there were animal sacrifices recently. but before those started there were pictures taken of me while friends were still on the bridge of white light going between my arms bent and i was being tugged at at the time. there is a traffic light for the trains a bit ways down from the bridge that you can only see form the tracks and it does move around. there is also loud noises and screeching coming from the woods around it and large dark objects that appear and disappear. there is a haunted house down the wa but it got burned down two years ago because people were going crazy if inside for too long. i walked through with friends with nothing but a cell phone for light and the place pulls you different place. but the garage and basement were the most haunted. you could hear people talking in both places and whispering for you to come to them… obviously we ran away from the house as soon as we heard something in the attic… especially since the original owners packed their **** and disappeared after hearing voices and recieving strange marks on their bodies. then there is sweeny bridge. if you follow bloods point rd until it turns into old river rd, you will come across a hidden sign by a hidden rd saying sweeny rd, there is a bridge there. now this is not the actual bridge that holds the history but it is just as old
the original bridge was a ways down, years back it was the “hanging bridge” originaly for “witches” LIKE the witch beulah who was famous around there. she would hang children for everyone to see for her curses andwhat not. eventually she herself was hung from the same bridge but cast a curse on the people that were to visit said bridge and speak ill of her name. what the curse was idk. but after that amongst other hangings the local klu klux klan would do their hangings at that bridge as well. eventually when law enforcement put a stop to the area kkk the authorities in the area decided the road and bridge were unnecessary especially wth the bad reputation it left. so they got rid of it.. but as soon as they got rid of it sweeny bridge had wierd happenings going on. like an old woman walking down the tracks singing a song. also screams were heard and childrens voices and giggles.
now their are a few more myths from the surrounding are. flora church is the oldest standing church in the area and its road is known to cause problems for late night drivers or adventurous people. their is an old farm somewhere around there with woods and an old rock wall. it is said if you are in the woods at night you will begin to hear a dog bark and soon see a black dog with red eyes which is also rumored to be seen at bloods point bridge and the cemetary, there is also more often than not an old man with a shot gun who will chase after yo uthrough the woods. so don’t get lost. the only time you will be safe is when you ge ton the other side of the wall, and that is when he disappears after shooting at you.
and my last installment is this which was terrifying when i experienced it. drive around late enough on these back roads and an old large black truck will come out of nowhere and begin to follow you . it’s sole purpose is to run you off the road. when it happened to me it followed us and tailgated us for twenty minutes. we tried to ditch it multiple times but it just sped up shining birhgt lights into our car and attempting to rear end us or scare us into thinking it was. it only disappeard when we faked a left turn but went right instead. the truck continued left and disappeared. we ended our night lol

JM says:

April 25, 2012, 3:35 pm

I live right down the road from Bloods Point Road. There was never a bus filled with children that drove off the bridge. I have parked on the bridge just so I could say that nothing happened and nothing did. There are many people in this area that drive around looking for all of you to scare you off. You guys obviously have very vivid imaginations.

Zack says:

May 31, 2012, 3:36 pm

I went out there twice, once in the daytime and once shortly after sunset, just out of curiosity. No doubt that the area is creepy, especially at night, just because it feels so lonely and isolated. I had a car behind me at one point, turned my attention away for a second, and looked back and it was gone. I would think I would have been able to see it turn off onto another road or driveway, but I didn’t see it anywhere. Otherwise, nothing remarkable happened outside of just feeling uneasy.

I don’t like the people who try to dispel myths or legends like they do and trying to ruin it for others. The fact is, any myth or legend requires a bit of a leap of faith. Whether you choose to take it is up to you, but don’t ruin the fun for others. I say, as long as you aren’t hurting anything or anyone, it’s no problem.

I think I’ll head back out to that area sometime and see if anything more notable happens. But regardless of whether anything unusual happens to you, I recommend going out there because it definitely is spooky.

Bula decendant says:

May 22, 2014, 5:44 pm

First lets get some things right, The truck and bridge are not part of Bloods point. The truck (not always white) is around Route 2 area, there use the be an old school house and the Woman who lived there was called Witch Bula, (Marie Putsky, dead) She hated people who trespassed so she would chase them off. The Truck was a neighbor his name was Daniel when high school students use to tease her he wwould chase them in his truck.

When they got far enough away he would turn his lights off and head back to the house to sit and wait.

So please stop confusing Witch Bula with Bloods Point. They are two different area’s

I have lived 10 minutes from Blood’s Point sematary for 20 years and have driven past it many many times at night over the years, never saw anything unusual. When I was a teen my friends and I would drive out there looking for ghosts and would park right there in the gate. It’s all nonsense. I have never noticed anything unusual and have never had any vehicles follow or chase me. There are no ghosts at Blood’s Point or anywhere else. There IS however a land owner who lives in a house next to the sematary and will call the police if you disturb the area or attempt to enter the property…
