Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Bloods Point Road

Cherry Valley, Illinois

If one travels on this road toward the cemetery, he will notice a bridge just above the train tracks. Once, a school bus filled with children flew off the bridge, killing all the passengers. Today, if a car is put in neutral on this spot, it will be mysteriously pushed across the bridge. There is also a traffic light in the area that seems to change locations. In the cemetery many have seen a ghost and heard whistling.

Oh your just fine i grew up in Machesney Park and moved away just shy of my 19th bday. I will say you dont have to apologise. But thank you.
My teen years revolved around bloods point and ghost stories in my adult hood come from there.. I had my most odd experiances there. I do wonder if anyone still goes out there since i live 800 miles away..I hope you get to Dani. I wish i was there with you .. Your expression is no diffrent then mine why do they come here to nag? Its sad to me. So has anyone checked up on the history of the land and the odd things that have happened to that area? has there been anymore unexplained things since my absence of 13 years? Id love to hear it. Fill me in.

I haven’t been out there in a while. It’s usually crawling with cops, of course. But I really wanna go out there again. And I haven’t really heard about anything new going on out there. However I have heard that not much of anything happens out there very much. But like I said, I really would like to go see for myself.

You know its better just to look up the stuff that happened out there then risk the cops stopping you trying to accuse you of trouble.. I went there allot and had alot of fun.. I hope if you make it out there you dont have any trouble and you see something interesting. but go to the Rockford Public Library they have the Cherry Vally newspaper and go as far back as they have. I remember reading in the 50′s or 60′s there was a house that was there when a couple drove by then 15 minutes later they went by again and the house was gone and the family reports say that the house seemed to spotaniously cubust. Then there was a report that a guy stabbed himself multiple times on the strange bridge that everyone had talked about and fell down to the tracks abd it said that the tracks haddent been used for a few years but then they stated that a train ended his life.. Weird things..If you happen to go to the library and find other odd things let me know..

went there a while ago with friends i’ve been there six times something only happended once. on the bridge car off and in neutral started getting pushed backwards while parked on a decline so if anything we would have rolled forward. rolled back enough to read F*** Y** in front of us then the windows fogged up and the black truck fallowed us a quarter mile then was gone next glance back. pulled into a farm house to turn around and pulled back on the road and our car died. scariest thing ever. car started back up and we were fine but it was fun as hell. ha wanna see something rally cool sweeny bridge is twice as scary as the one on bloods point road. thats the only time something happended though. the whole place is just freaky i dont even believe in ghosts but bloods point road is the shi*

Just got back from Bloods Point with my daughter and 2 friends. Tonight was a full moon. We went armed with flashlights camcorders, digital cameras and cell phones. i have to say I am pretty bummed. I was hoping for some kind of a sign as I am a believer. I have had a few encounters in my time, but that is for another day. I have to say there was a lot of traffic tonight. There were at least 4 other cars when we were at the cemetary and several (at least 5) on the bridge. unfortunately this was not our night to see anything. We tried the trick with baby powder on the trunk of the car and got nothing. Although while on the bridge someone
stopped on the other side and parked but left the engine running. I and 1 other witness swear we saw the car move forward a very small amount, like it was being pushed but somehting was stopping it.???
As far as at the cemetary, there was a huge light by one of the entrances that lit up everything but the corners. Anyone know when that was put up??
Sure would appreciate the feedback. And WHERE was the shed?? There is no shed there now. If you come in from BP Road was it in the far back left
corner??? It appeared that something may have been there and been leveled.
There was not much grass and lots of large tire tracks which looked like tractor or heavy duty equipment> Has anyone else been there recently and
do you agree??

The only thing that did happen was 3 out of the four of us heard “something”???! 1 person didn’t say anything till we were back in the car so I don’t believe this was a hoax. She said it sounded like a very low cough. What I heard sounded more like leaves rustling or the
noise you sometimes make when you are trying not to make noise or get noticed. At no time did I feel like I was being watched or have a feeling of uneasiness.

Two of us stayed in the car on the bridge and two of us got out and checked it out. The two that got out and looked over the bridge rail
said they felt a pressure in their chest.?? Right over the railroad tracks
on the right side of the bridge as you are headed to the cemetary there was a drawing on the road of what appeared to be the devils head with some
squiggles around it?? we are posting pictures to the computer as you can sometimes see things in them that you cant on the camera and checking the video. We will post again if anything shows up.

Two the four guys that stopped us on the bridge with the EFS would like to hook up with you again if you are interested in checking out other haunted spots. I’ll check this sight on a regular basis. I’m hooked!!! Happy Hauntings!

P.S. Let’s just remember please to be respectful in these places. I’m working on my family genealogy and it took me forever to find one of them
because someone thought it was okay to vandalize the stone. Even though they have departed they are someone’s family.

Such active imaginations. There is nothing creepy about the area other than the name. There is no history of hauntings, other than anecdotal information provided in these posts. Cuba Rd… Sleepy Hollow Rd… Blood Points Rd. stories are great around the campfire, but thats it. I could start another story about a haunted fire station in Cherry Valley and have 50 people post… doesn’t mean its true

Well then, Scott. What brings you to this forum???
Personally speaking, I don’t believe in the U.F.O. theories or stories.
So, why would I want to waste my time or effort posting a comment
on any of the U.F.O. web sites?

My question to the posters: Why is it that the vast majority of you can’t spell or use proper grammar and punctuation? This is not your cell phone and you are not texting your friends.

i was scared out of my mind to go there..we went sat on the bridge in neutral and nothing happened. the scary thing though is that the house next to the bridge is led to believe that all lights are on and the front door is always open.. when we went past all the lights were on and the front door was open. we parked to stand around and talk and a black truck went past and a car pulled into the driveway of the house left the car lights on the whole time we were out there and finally turned them off after we went past the house to leave. otherwise nothing else happened with ghosts.

Just got back from bloods point cemetery. I don’t believe in the myths. But I tried taking a picture of the graves and the screen on my phone flashed before I could even take the picture..why lie? It’s pretty scary. There were no cops around so for all of you talking sh*t: your “officers” aren’t really doing their job too well now are they? haha it’s funny how you ppl get so mad over things like this I mean come on live a little!

Joe Dirt says:

This is all junk! The bridge is not haunted and there never was a crash there. The cemetery is not haunted either. People have been arrested for trespassing in the cemetery. If you put your car in neutral on a slope of course its going to to roll…..DUH people.

Okay, there is no proof that the school bus accident happened, and no that bridge is not actually on Blood’s Point Rd. The story is that there was a family living on that road, and also a witch. The children of the man made friends with the witch and when people found out the whole town shunned the family. The father went crazy and hung himself and the children on the bridge. That is why the bridge is haunted. The story of the school bus and the children originated somewhere else…I saw it on the travel channel or something like that where they actually tested it. If that had actually happened here there would be something published about it. The real hauntings take place supposedly at the witches house and underneath the bridge. The cemetery has as much chance as any other to have spirits seeing that people are buried there.
The truck thing, honestly, I believe that is someone messing with people unless someone has seen it happen during the day. Because it is a country road with no lights if you turn your lights off right behind someone they won’t be able to see you. I’v turned the lights off on my car out there before and it is pitch black all around.
I haven’t gone out there with the people that I know that have been to the witch’s house so I don’t know what house it is but I have been to the cemetery, and over the bridge and just driven on the road. The thing that scared me was while driving on the road my friend turned his lights off to freak us out and then we he turned them back on there was a black cat right in the middle of the road. I’m not saying that is a legend and that will happen to you or anything, but I do believe that was a sign to leave.
