I live near the ghost road and I’ve been down there with my friends since I was 12. When I was younger, I saw the light come at us from behind when we were in the car. It got really close and then vanished. We looked in front of us and there it was. It scared me to death! The light may be white or sometimes red. Today, I can go and it’s scary just because you are out in the MIDDLE OF THE WOODS at night. Thet say that the light is fog gases. I believe that it’s just car lights from each end of the road. That is why they get closer and disappears because the road curves. There are many stories. Which do you believe?

Perhaps the man was deaf and dropped something on the tracks, and when he bent over to pick it up, the train zoomed by and took his head off! Actually, I agree with Julia. I think the train would have took more than his head. Then again, I guess that’s possible. Maybe he was sleeping with his head on the track and the train came by and squashed it.

Actually, the Bragg light story is true! My dad lived in Kountze for several years. We decided to drive out there one night around 11:30pm. We turned off our lights and crept slowly down the road. We didn’t see anything at first and we almost gave up. But about half way through, we saw the light. It seemed to get brighter then it would dim. Almost like a very bright candle flame. We were both really freaked out! But we still kept creeping along in the truck trying to get closer. Unfortunatly, we never could get any closer and finally toward the end of the road it disappeared. My father is a religious guy who doesn’t believe in the ghost mumbo jumbo, but still to this day he gets chills talking about it. Its definatly worth checking out!

I along with my fiancee and his grandmother went down the road one night .At first there was nothing but as we went along a light began to follow us and it would get closer then fall back. There was no explanation for this light but it happened almost the whole length of the 8 mile stretch.
It is not a joke or a story it really happened.

I went and saw the Bragg light, It’s about 30 minutes North of Beaumont. I was very doubtful, and just talking it off. Once we got to the light I would hardly get out of the car. It’s extremely creepy, and its just a faint light til u drive towards it. It blinks and moves. It’s insane and scared the **** out of me.

OMG! About the cult thing you were talking about, I’ve been out there about 4 or 5 times a few years back & most nights we never saw anything(no light). But the 5th time we went we experienced the car moving thing while it was turned off and in park. It started going foward & so we freaked out and turned back to leave and as we were driving out there was like 4 black pickup trucks parked along side the road with like no one at all in sight we were sooo freaked out! I lived in Dayton at the time. It’s not too far a drive from there. I love this place & want to go back so badly but I moved. I heard the road is paved now. Is that true??

I have been to Bragg light road. It really is their. My Dad, two cousins, and a few friends went. When we went it was still a sand road. You did not have to have the lights on to see the sides of the road. I went with an open mind. I wanted to see if it was true all the stories I had heard. I grew up in Tarkington. My sister-in-laws live in Batson not far from the road. When we went there were lots of cars and trucks there. The were all over the place. I was in the back of the pickup when we saw the light. It was lightly swinging back and forth like someone carring a oil burning lamp. It got closer and closer. The closer it got the brighter it got. It did not stop it went right through the truck we were in. It really freaked me out. I am not easy to scare. This did scare me. I wanted out of there and home. I would like to go back and see it again. Call me crazy or what ever but if you don’t see it for yourself you will never believe. You can say it is not there but until you get brave enough to go and check it out then you will never know. You should not judge just because you do not believe. SO WHAT ARE YOU A FRAIDY CAT OR WHAT? GO SEE IT. You will not be disappointed. As for the story about what happened it is true. If I found anything that can prove it I will post how you can find that information about it.

When I was still in high school, a groups of friends of mine drove out to Brags Road to see this light everyone kept talking about. The car died and would not start we got out the car to see what was wrong with the car. We had been checking under the hood, when all of a sudden we see this gas light comming towards us we started screaming and all the girls jumped in the car. The light passed and the car started and we sped out of their as fast we possibly could. I don’t know what that was but, I won’t go back there again.
