Bridge Near Railroad Tracks
Legend has it that one night a woman was walking along the railroad tracks with her daughter, trying to get her to sleep. The woman stopped along the bridge to nurse her child. As she was nursing, a train came suddenly around the bend. Frozen with fear, the woman and her baby were killed instantly. It is said that if one goes over the bridge and honks his horn, the baby will wake up and begin to cry. Allegedly, one will then hear the sound of the mother shushing the baby.

I live in Greenfiel. First things first. Any womanthat sits on train tracks to nurse her child is worthy of a darwin award. Secondly, I’ve been to that bridge, there is nothing there this story has been told for decades all over America. There are three cry baby bridges between Greenfield and Sabina. It’s not true. I’ve even been there with people who were stoned. You’d think that would be the time you’d hear something, real or not. But no. The story is just that, a story.

I have always heard that there are cultist meetings in the woods near the bridge. 12am is considered “special”…this could be the reason people are hearing odd things around 12…Personally I have never seen anyone in this area (the recent building of homes in this area would more than likely cause them to move as well), but I did see a group of cultists behind the old Collin’s Packing plant when I was MUCH younger (many times I might add), back before the area had been cleared out for the new trail. I lived across the street, it was kind of hard to miss them…Anything else, I’d have to see to believe. The night can make spooky noises if you let it get to you. Honestly, don’t you think that after more than 2000 years, we would have definitive proof by now, if there were such a thing…
