THe tunnels are old private walk ways to the turkish baths (still there) and diffrent whore houses near the hotel. The tunnels have been closed since the 60’s

Right then, well yeah I have been to the Brown Palace several times. It does have a creepy vibe to it, but there are more creepier places in Colorado then the Brown Palace. The reason it seems creepy is that they have kept the tapistry and everything the same for 60 years, so already everything in there is old. There is a story that was in fact confirmed by death records and the Ddenver post of a maid who worked there for 50 years. The forced her to retire, she didn’t want to leave so she went to the top of the stairs and jumped. There is an indent in the concrete floor. They don’t like to talk about it, but management confirmed it to me. But she is not said to haunt the place.

I don’t know why it is not mentioned on here, but the Oxford Hotel is also very haunted, especially in teh ballroom. My friends who have worked there have told me stories. One was on night shift one night and walked by the door and noticed smoke and men sitting around the tables in old- looking top hats. They were all smoking cigars- my friend even smelled it. Then he thought to himself, wait, they shouldn’t be here, I need to get them out, and when he turned back around and walked in, they were all gone, and the tables were normal- with chairs stacked, but the smoke stayed in the room. True story, and if you’re not scared, I don’t care, but it’s true.

The real story of this haunting takes place in a building connected via the underground tunnels, The State Capitol building. The story for that place (a bit more interesting) is also on this site.
