Real Haunted House

Bunny Man Bridge

Fairfax Station, Virginia

During the 1800s, a man went off to hunt for food. Upon return to his home, however, he discovered the mutilated bodies of his wife and child. Immediately, he summoned the sheriff. Since the bodies were so horribly mutilated and there were no other suspects, the husband was sent to a mental institution. Maintaining his innocence, the man vowed revenge. After escaping from the institution, the man took up residence near a bridge. Since the only clothes he owned were those made from rabbits’ skin, he soon became known as the “Bunny Man.” As time passed, children started playing near and around the Bunny Man. When several children came up missing, the authorities were notified. When they reached the bridge, officials saw body parts of the children hanging from trees; they also saw the Bunny Man being run over by a train. Today it is said that one may see body parts hanging from the trees and will hear the Bunny Man laughing.

Yes, it would be a good horror movie, I hope it becomes one, or I want to make one. However, I would love it if it were real, I love to be freaked out.

This urban legend is the most well known in North Virginia, but its flawed. For starters, there wern’t even any mental institutions built around Fairfax in that time era.

It certainly is an eerie area, but the closest thing to paranormal we encountered was my boyfriend shutting the car down mid-tunnel, and pretending it did it on its own.

I’ve heard about 3 different variations of the bunnyman story, and so far this site seems to have the most credible story involving the legend:

this is the bunny man. please come to see me. I am lonely and bored. Would like someone to play with. Remember to say bunny-man three times. Please wait on me. I might be busy. Please bring some veggies for bunny stew. If I don’t show after thirty minutes come to mental hospital. You will not be disappointed.

Marilyn, your an idiot! if you do your research, you’ll know and find out that the information on that gay show “scariest places on earth” is neither extablished, published or researched. Every location is presented by its local folklore and the residents who reside in the local area of the locations presented. LIKE I SAID! I LIVE IN WALKING DISTANCE FROM IT! LIKE 100 FEET OR SO! I’ve lived here for about 30 years and my family before me, since the 40′s on! there was no murders in the 19th or 20th century ever! Maybe back when it was a non existant area, but there is still no confirmed and true evidence or information, worldwide to prove any of it, neither would anybody ever know! if there was, wouldnt you think it’d be in this town? the town where the location resides? Your a believer of **** like millions! the only people who say that **** are people that dont live here! and no marilyn, there are no police reports! I have cops in the family from fairfax all the way to spotsylvania VA, theres never even been a case in that location! ever! trust me, its peaked my interest millions of times! so quit lighting up, get your *** out the holy glow of your tv and read somethin true, and back up what you say when your nowhere near the truth, or location of what your talking about.

The bridge is just a bridge. The ‘stories’ surrounding it are just myths. They have grown over the years also. Every person who hears a ‘story’and believes it, adds a little bit more to the ‘story’. There is NO truth to this myth. My family has been living near the bridge for over 120 years– no truth to any of those tall tales.

Not worth it at all. Don’t worry about coming, it’s not worth any of your time.

I just went last night with a couple of friends, it is a creepy area and it got creepier because our echoes were way too loud and after our echoes comes a loud scary sound, I am not saying there is presence or ghost but I do want a logical explanation to that!

I went out to Bunny Man Bridge some years back when I was in high school, because I live so close to Clifton. The whole thing is completely unremarkable. There is no ‘shack’ no ‘mental institution.’ Just a bridge with some gravel.

My advice is to NOT go out there, not because it’s boring as hell, but because the Police patrol that area regularly and will force you to leave. They’ve had enough problems with vandals out there as is.

i went there 2 days ago at night, in the pitch black, got out of my car and nothing scary or tight was around there, its a waste of gas to be honest
