Bunny Man Bridge
During the 1800s, a man went off to hunt for food. Upon return to his home, however, he discovered the mutilated bodies of his wife and child. Immediately, he summoned the sheriff. Since the bodies were so horribly mutilated and there were no other suspects, the husband was sent to a mental institution. Maintaining his innocence, the man vowed revenge. After escaping from the institution, the man took up residence near a bridge. Since the only clothes he owned were those made from rabbits’ skin, he soon became known as the “Bunny Man.” As time passed, children started playing near and around the Bunny Man. When several children came up missing, the authorities were notified. When they reached the bridge, officials saw body parts of the children hanging from trees; they also saw the Bunny Man being run over by a train. Today it is said that one may see body parts hanging from the trees and will hear the Bunny Man laughing.

Bunny Man Bridge sure is a creepy place to go. Day or night. In order to turn your car around and go back you have to drive under the bridge because the road is so narrow. As you come upon the bridge the road gets more narrow and is basicly gravel a few hundred feet before it, under it and past it. And it’s very very dark down there. Police wont let you go down there anymore on Halloween I don’t think. I’ve been about 5 minutes from it for 16 years and I’ve only been about 3 times. It’s far too scary.

Okay, Fairfax county has painted over the graffiti (it’s a shame, it was actually nice), and the bridge is under 24 hour camera surveillance. The residents WILL call the cops on you. You’ve been warned.
Grew up in the area, everyone has heard of Bunnyman. Been there many times, even in the middle of the night, nothing. It is listed as one of the most haunted places in Northern Virginia, though.

ohkay, me, my friend jessi, my sister jessamy and a bunch of football player (haha) went up there tonight right after midnight. it really was creepy because the bridge just pops out of no where! but we went on top of the bridge where the tracks are, we saw a white light coming from one side, but i cant be sure what that was. we then went under the tunnel, where its scary as ****, but all the guys were dicking around yelling for the bunnyman. it was scary but we heard a really eerie moaning sound while we under the bridge, so we all booked it for the cars. we didnt see anything, but who knows. its deff worth checking out though.

I cannot believe you people think this place is real. Do you also think the Amittyville Horror was a true story? Geeze people, grow a brain and do the research. There never was, nor ever has been, an insane asylum in Northern VA. Now, how do I know this? Well, I’ve lived in NOVA my whole life, and I READ! Which means I have the ability to think, and therefor can detect the bull**** that is in these “real life” accounts. Anybody who believes this story must also think Paris Hilton is worth the attention she gets. Seriously people, stop being sheep and letting the mass media rule your lives.

My friend and I went last weekend. Didnt see anything. Walked under the bridge and we both felt the tempature drop quickly. She wanted to continue on to the railroad tracks said she was feeling something up there. She fell down half way up. we went down the road all the way till it was a dead end and said no tresspassing. we went through anyway and we didnt see any fresh animal kill at all. Looks like NOTHING HAS happened for several halloweens now so maybeits not true…. who knows I didnt visually see anything…………………

Um, what the hell? This is NOT the story of The Bunny Man Bridge at ALL!!!!! The Bunny Man was Douglas J. Grifon. He escape from an asylum in 1904. He mutilated bunnies, leaving their dead bodies for people to find. He also killed his escaped companion Marcus A. Wallster. He hung him from Bunny Man Bridge. It’s said he still haunts the area, killing kids who stray too close at midnight on Hallow’s Eve. SO GET IT RIGHT!!!!

Soo i really want to know if all this is true..i go to the university of alabama, but live here, and theres an old criminally insane asylum my friends and i go to check out. It’s rundown cus they tried buring it down and theres also an old hospital nxt to it. But i’d really like to know if the cabin and the hospital are actually true or not because i’d love to check it out. Be Safe Everyone….FFx Cops aren’t the nicest cops…trust me from experience…

So my husband and I drove over to this bridge in clifton, va after work this past friday. We arrived and it was just beginning to become dusk. The bridge itself is pretty neat a one lane tunnel bridge with the railroad track going over top of it. However nothing unusual happened. It felt a little creepy but I think that is only because the woods around there in the winter time look that way. Also if you do enough research even just on the internet you’ll find that there has never been an insane asylum around that area ever! About the so called shack people found. I did not see one but then again we did not go wandering around. There a bunch of really big houses back there. At the end of the road it dead ends with a sign that states no trespassing. This is where so many others have claimed to have gotten out and walked down to the shack. These people here don’t mess around for calling the police so unless you want a trespassing violation I sugguest you do not do it or else ask the person who’s land it is for permission before hand. Nothing strange there again and the tunnel has been painted over in white so many times due to spray painters as well. If you want to see what the tunnel looks like go here http://historicclifton.org/BunnyMan.htm . To find the bridge just follow colchester road until it deads ends. It’s the only bridge on the road.

I really do belive in the story. My friend and i walk to the bridge all the time and the rub marks where he hung the boddies are there. I wish i could go on holloween but police gard it with all there lives. People used to sell drugs in the bridge and the polic were chasing them and the people who were selling the drugs ran into our property and the police told us to evacuate our house because they thought the people were in our barn. It was extremly scary :O
