I can’t believe people would waste time leaving absolutely usless comments as such above without first visiting the place that is spoke of. Quite intruiging at the least if I must say so myself. My family and I visited there last fall and yes…….we had many stories to recall to many in the following days thereafter. Later to our dismay, the taperecordings had vanished!!!

I stayed there with a girlfriend in 2001. I dont remember what room we stayed in but I do remember that during the nite I kicked a “cat” off the bed. It was at my feet and I was “half-awake when I did it. I actually could feel the weight of the animal. The next day when she and I went to dinner at the inn, we were reading on the wall about others “strange events” while there and there were other instances of cats in peoples rooms. This was a very real experience for me personally, as I had not experienced anything like that before

My husband, my sister, her husband and I just stayed at the Inn for the SECOND time in three years and none of us saw or heard anything either time.

I live in Granville, Ohio and I have been in the Buxton Inn a lot of times for Trick or Treating on Halloween and sometimes just to go down their for stories and it is not haunted. There is nothing spooky about it. No sounds or anything. It is just a regular Inn and their is nothing in it. Believe me! NOTHING!

You are wrong…I was always sceptical as well. My husband and I stayed at the Buxton Inn in room 7 back around Holloween 2006. I have gone to the Buxton Inn for years since I was a child for dinning and special occassions and never saw a thing or caught anything in pictures. I had also never stayed in a room before either. It was a very quite dark night and there were not a lot of guests staying at the Inn at the time. We caught in our our video camera a orb that came out of the back bedroom into the front bedroom and bounced around the bed and moved right towards us. My husband said as he caught it on tape “I see something.” I didn’t believe him so we stopped filming and rewound the tape. Sure enough there was clearly a small white ball of light that did bounce around. The room was dark and the curtains were closed. There was in no way it was any kind of light reflecting not to mention the motion in which the orb bounced. It sent chills up our backs – WOW! We again set the camera on the TV after going to sleep for a short time in the dark and we watched the tape later and sure enough another orb was right in front of the camera bouncing around, like it was checking it out. Go see for yourself and take a video camera. We are going back and want to check out room 9 this time. I hope to see more! Until this exsperience I thought there was nothing too! Seeing is believing.

I just came back from lunch at the Buxton. When I was a child of seven or eight I had read about the Inn and the Lady in Blue and it has been a life long desire to go, which a friend just took me there for my birthday. We asked to see room #9, where Bonnie died. It was the most stifling atmosphere and when I walked to the back bedroom, I felt an oppressive heaviness to the air, as well as a weird tingling (if I had hackles, they’d have been standing staight up). It could have been just my imagination, but it felt really strange in that room. I was ready to leave, that’s for sure.

My family and I have stayed here on many occasions..and i am defently a believer..my husband got up and locked the door to room 7 and it was a deadbolt and when he sat back on the bed the door flew open and shut a couple of times.i also have a picture i tok of the wine cellar and at the bottom of the stairs there was a black cat with green eyes..but when i took the pic i never seen any cat.also in room 7 there is a smaller bed near the bathroom and that bed shook the whole night and kept hitting the wall…so can u skeptics explain this to me

stayed in room 9, slightly eerie vibe in the back room where bonnie died but im sure i was just caught up in all the hype. NO ghosts but a beautiful hotel with great food and service, i will definitely be going back!!

ok so i have to say i do truly belive in this sort of thing! and i am happy for all of you have have seen things at the buxton inn. but i have to say, i used to work there back in 2000 and i was there till late in the evening several times and to my dismay i never did see anything! nor did i ever feel anything strange!! in fact i felt quite comfortable there! but i am happy some of you have seen and felt things! i wish i would have!

I have to say something on the subject of the buxton inn. I currently work there and never have seen anything. the only thing that has ever happened when ive been around is in one of the rooms a chair was shoved in front of the door. and no one had been in that room and there was only one way in that room. just to let you know i do believe that strange things happen at the inn and i would love to see something. I have heard all the story’s and its not all limited to rooms 7 and 9.

The ghosts arent real… I worked there and never ever saw anything…. Its all a crock…. The owners are real jerks and dont follow rules. The food there is gross and i WOULDNT let my worst enemy eat there. The rooms are dirty and the bathrooms are disgusting.. take my advice and spread the word DO NOT GO TO THE BUXTON INN in Granville Ohio

okay heres what happenned to me in the cellar :
My parents and I walked down into the bar/wine cellar. Sure, it was creepy, but it did have somewhat of a homey feel to it. If you ever go to the buxton inn, you’ll see that the basement walls are COVERED in old clippings from newspapers and such about the “hauntings” that go on. I was captivated by the story of a little boy that is supposedly inhabiting the certain areas of the inn. My parents on the other hand were reading about bonnie, the lady that died in room #9. As i read, i could hear my dad creeping up behind me because, being the typical dad, he likes to scare his kids randomly. I was about to say “Dad, I hear you.” when he yanked my ponytail. I turned around, ready to pummell good ol’ pop, when to my surprise i was the only one in the dang cellar.

GO TO THE BUXTON INN.

P.S. also if you watch the door in the greenhouse / dining area, you’ll see that the inside of it will sway in and out like somethings passing through it. Just watch sometime.

I’ve stayed at the Buxton twice with my family, both times around the Christmas holidays, and we all love it there! Things have happened on both occasions, and to more than one member of my family. The most reccent visit wasn’t as eventful, but that may be because we were staying in the house adjacent to the main house. We were in the ‘Children’s Room’ on the second floor, and I was getting eerie feelings from the bathroom and bed next to the door leading to the ballcony enterance all night. As I was asleep on the floor the next morning, my younger brother stepped over my body to turn on the TV, and as he did, a lamp on the table next to the wall flicked on by it’s own accord…odd, considering it was the type of lamp you have to twist to turn on. Later, my family went down to get breakfast, but since I was so tired, I decided to stay in the room and sleep on the bigger bed. Bad idea. Shortly after they had left, I was woken by the sound of someone walking from the door that led to the ballcony enterance towards the head of the bed I was sleeping in. I distinctly heard a breathing sound, and out of fear, laid completely still and pretended that I was asleep. I header a low chuckle, and then the ‘whatever’ turned towards the bathroom and walked into it. I heard the breathing turn in that direction, and listened as the footsteps continued to the small ‘punishment cupboard’ next to the toilet. I didn’t hear anything else after that.
On our first trip, we stayed in Room 9, more commonly known as ‘Bonnie’s Room’. Walking through the room, I was taking photos as random, and later discovered in a picture of the vanity table, a woman’s figure in the mirror. The figure was shaded blue, and looked as though it was wearing a hat. She was not smiling, and looked to be in her late forties. After examining the room, I realized that there was no way a reflection could have mistakenly be the source of the image, and no one was in the room when I took the picture, myself included, as I was standing in the doorway in an angle to where my reflection was not in the mirror.
Later, while everyone was asleep, my mother got up to use the bathroom. She left the door open, as we had left the light on to see, and had just sat down on the toilet when the door began to close on it’s own. She watched it move until it was almost completely closed, at which point she said ‘I don’t like that!’ and the door flung back open. At first, she thought it was one of us playing a trick on her, until she realized we were all dead asleep. She also noticed that, just as it was when we had gone to bed, the door was still propped open with one of my father’s dress shoes.
Once more, after coming back upstairs from dinner, I decided to walk around and try to get something on camera. Walking past the second floor ballroom, I heard my name called very clearly. I turned around, thinking someone would be standing in the doorway, and realized that the lights were out and no one was inside.

so who’s ghost was it?
