I’ve witnessed nothing and felt nothing at Carnegie Hall, not to say that it isn’t true, but I am very receptive to these types of things. So forget Carnegie Hall, if you want to likely witness something paranormal, go to Felix’s grave. While somewhat eerie during the day, it’s a whole other story come twilight and night. A couple friends and I were chased by I would guess satanists at this location at one midnight on Halloween years ago. They moved eerily through the trees and sounded like children throwing their voices, like the laughter was in our heads. Once we left the actual trail to the grave site, the robed figures stopped pursuing us and turned toward the strangers that had followed us to the graveyard and we had left in the dust. Only one figure remained and he laughed and ran at me. I had a 45. revolver on me and I fired a shot in the air. He never hesitated as he ran at us, laughing all the way. Seeing what looked like a knife in his hand, I fired again, at him. I was a practiced shot and the distance wasn’t great but still he didn’t slow and I’d swear I hit him. My friends and I ran like hell. Still, I fired back twice more and shouldn’t have missed. The thing never slowed as it chased us toward my truck. Once we got to the end of the trail, where the bars go across at the parking area, it stopped. As we jumped in the car, we watched the figure simply walk into the trees and disappear. I don’t know what happened to the other 4-6 kids we left at the gravesite, but I never heard of anything like murder or missing persons in the paper. We went back the next day and there was a large pentagram made of ash in the circular gravel area before the grave site. I’ve also witnessed the mist in this location and I can very easily sense anger and evil within the cold iron confines of the grave site. I won’t go there at night anymore because of the various things I’ve witnessed at this site. I won’t even go during the day without a weapon. So I would say this to any brave enough to venture here, it’s got the energy of the dead, like pet cemetery or something, and the pagans or whatever they were were not natural in movement or noise, the sounds accompanying their passage was ventriloquist-like. I still remember the things laughter years later and I know I shot him dead. Beware Felix’s Grave. Whatever is there is not holy.

I was raised in St. Joseph, MO and lived there until 1990. I have such memories of that wonderful old building. I can still smell the books and walk downstairs to the Children’s section or upstairs through the isles of shelves and see the check-out desks. I especially always wanted to walk up the old winding iron steps to the rare book section. IT’S ME-I’M THE GHOST! BOO!

i have lived in st joesph for 11 years and i ve heard of this library but i dont think its haunted my house is prolly more haunted than this library and so is my school cuz it was built in 1917 and my school was built in 1899 but it had work done on it sooooooo whatever

i live in st.joe an i go to that library on a regular basis. i have heard stories of the librarian but it’s not scary. odd but definitly not anything to fear.

I’ve been living in St. Joe for the past few months and I was wondering if anyone knows any stories about Krug Castle. A friend and I have been up there at night and I’ve gotten some really creepy vibes from the place…

I live in Saint Joseph and I know for a fact some places in Saint Joseph are haunted my mom used to live in a house and if was very much haunted so I would believe that this library is haunted too.

Having worked at this particular library for almost 30 years I have never heard such a story. Like Saundra said I’ve heard stories about the downtown branch being haunted but I’ve never heard any Carnegie related stories.
