Real Haunted House

Cemetery

Coppell, Texas

In this cemetery, one particularly devilish worshipper of Satan is buried. His headstone, located is the corner of the cemetery is said to be haunted. People attempting to take pictures of it have reported their film being distorted upon development. If one attempts to take pictures anywhere else in the cemetery, however, the pictures come out perfectly.

My friends and I are hunting for haunted places in Coppell. There is an empty lot with a drive way without a mail box on christi off of bethel school rd… its pretty creepy.. my friends and i went there just the other night and there were quite a few strange noises and movements.. there is no longer a house there – it was demolished. I will also be going to the Bullock Cemetery tomorrow night.. i have been there many times during the day in the past, but never a night time.. and yes, it is hard to get to unless you know the back way – which isn’t easy access. There is also a new cemetery being built off of ruby rd by the trailor park! and does anyone know where the cemetery off of mockingbird is?

Tried to go by this place today… had trouble finding it, but pin pointed location with google earth and will try again tomorrow. Did find location of Association that handles the grounds, but no one was there when I tried to check on it. Again.. will try by there tomorrow a little earlier in the day and see if I can get permission to go on the grounds and see the place.

I am the caretaker of the Bullock cemetery and I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing haunted about this place. It’s a peaceful place with about 40 graves ranging from 1869 to 2002. If somebody wants to waste their time, I’d be delighted to escort them onto the site. Also, I’ve never heard of any Satan worshippers being buried there. Somebody is having you on.

I have yet to find a true haunt! You can almost always find the owner or caretaker that will unveil the truth. i need a real haunt. i am getting old and starting to wonder about my after life. will i haunt this world or go on to the next? i belive in God and belive i will go to heaven when i have payed my debts. i just wonder what will happen when I die. do we stay and repent-or do we simply go to heaven or hell? i’m really not as wierd as this sounds, just curious.

By the way, if you decide not to let me escort you onto the property, and decide to go there by yourself, just please have the decency to treat the place with the respect it deserves. Has anybody in this group ever been a Cub Scout? It’s called ‘leave no trace behind.’ It means don’t leave anything, don’t take anything, don’t destroy anything. And please be respectful. Those who were interred there were God-fearing, hard-working people who lived hard and died young. But any and all are welcome as long as they respect where they are. If I catch you there, I’m liable to put a weed-eater in your hand. ;-)

yes, i was an active member of scouts for almost 10 years. and i would never go there with out permission. i don’t plan on going anyway, i don’t belive it’s a true haunt. i was just wondering??? i have an obsession on this subject and fear i’ll never know the truth. and i would help you with the weed wacker if i were there. :)

It’s the age-old question. You are not alone. There are answers out there. But even the answers need answers. If you record whispering in an empty room, is that proof of life after death? Not really. It’s exciting and frightening, but it’s really just another mystery. This month’s issue of Scientific American has an article about a new theory that holds that the true nature of the universe is unknowable. Not very reassuring, is it?

You have my permission to visit the Bullock cemetery anytime you want. Soon, homes will be built not 10 feet from the cemetery fence. It’s a done deal. If you visit, you may learn something, but not about ghosts. If you look very closely, you’ll see how precious life is. And you’ll know just how lucky you are to have been born when you were. Many graves are for babies and small children—some weren’t even yet named. One simply bears the words ‘Our Baby.’ There’s one grave marker for 2 boys (brothers) aged 15 and 18 who both died on the same day. Imagine that for a moment. If you go to a graveyard—mine or any other—you’ll see something remarkable if you look closely enough. Guaranteed.

I would love to visit this site for it’s historic significant’s before it’s gone. Does anyone know how, exactly, how to find it?

I’ve been there.. and it’s not a satanic symbol.. although to the uneducated it would appear as such. It’s actually a symbol for of a society for the wives of masons.. it does have an inverted pentagram at it’s heart. I would attach a photo of it if I could here. The woman in questions name was Mary Evelyn Cozby, born April 7, 1911 and died November 12, 2002… As far as getting to the place, you have to go on foot. If you head east on Denton Tap Road from hwy 121 to just before Bethel School Rd there will be a place you can park just before the intersection on the south west corner. It used to be an old trailer home park.. you can still make out the pads and streets if you look carefully. Back toward the west if you walk across the open field you will find a wide cut trail / road that moves into the woods to the west then curves around south and will lead you to the graveyard. It’s very small.. maybe 30 graves or less.. and her’s is near the front on your left when you walk in the gate. I have photos of the tombstone itself as well as most of the others in the graveyard. I will share the photo to anyone interested.. just post a comment here requesting it with a way to contact you.

Obviously the legend is wrong, as I had no trouble photographing anything in the place. Although I did have one moment while I was there that was a little weird for a moment. My camera’s (Nikon D-50 Digital) auto-focus refused to focus on one of the stones until I turned it off and back on.. it had never done that before.. but it wasn’t the stone in question and I don’t put much stock into the experience.. I wrote it off as a fluke.

Just a side bar to what Kevin said before.. Yes, I have been a boy scout in the past.. and I took my son with me as he also has an interest in the metaphysical.. and while we were there took time to upright a garbage can and pick up the trash that had been scattered by the wind and anything we found lying along the trail. If we as people don’t work to preserve the places we leave behind, what will there be for the next generations after us?

I would just like to ask… if so many of you have been there and taken pictures, why can you not post these pictures or maybe send them by email to those that are interested?

Clafoun says:
