Real Haunted House

Cemetery

Maltby, Washington

This cemetery is said to have been built by a Satanic family so that they might have an eternal resting place. In the middle of the cemetery, there are thirteen steps that lead to nowhere. Called the thirteen steps to hell, it is said that once a person walks downs these stairs, they perish instantly. Others, who have barely made it out alive, have reported seeing their spirit in hell at the bottom of the steps. It is reported that one man ran across the cemetery and was scared so badly, that he was never seen again.

Me and four friends went to the cemetery last night after dark. We found the cemented-over “steps to hell” and sat on them for a while, telling ghost stories. Other than the hairs on the back of my neck raising every now and then, nothing much happened… as we were leaving, there was an eerie screeching noise, but we GTFO’d shortly thereafter. Nothing much to report. But it was an exciting adventure nonetheless.

this is my best friends family.. if you ever met the family you would laugh and wonder how stories of this family “worshiping the devil” came to be.. please if you go, be respectful of the graves, it is a family cemetry and only her family is buried there.. once a year they have to have a get together to do a clean up there and its sad they have to so often because of disrespecful ppl.. its a creepy place even in the day, but be resepctful..

To the one who is friends with the Doolittles,
This is the first time I ever heard of anyone accusing them of doing the Devil worshipping. I have always heard it was others who just decided to use the cemetery for their worship place. I have been here countless times back in the late 80’s. And to those who keep saying things about the “13 Steps To Hell”….If you are just recently going there, you will not see them. No they are not covered up by cement, in fact they were just carved out of the dirt leading down and away from the cemetery into a very small clearing about 30-40 ft around and under the trees. They have long ago weathered away. So unless you know where they were, you will not find them. They were very small and barely there in the 80’s. If I remember right, and feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but the cement slab at the top of the cemetery was put there due to the fact they unearthed a fresh grave about 22 yrs ago. And if I remember right, it was a small child. SO to prevent it from happening again, they cemented over it. And yes, it is the final resting place of the Doolittle family, so treat it as if it were your family berried there.

uhm.. no its not by mt saint helens.. you have no idea what you are talking about.. and there are more than 5 grave stones there.. it is a FAMILY graveyard.. and yes robert it was ppl who used their graveyard, since it is so secluded to perform their satanic ritulas.. not the actual family of the graveyard..

“Bubba” you obviously haven’t been there. More than 5 graves. Not even close to Mt. St. Helens.

BUBBA YOU ARE FUNNY!!!!!! Good to know from the person who explained where the steps were! Now I know I have walked them infact and nothing has happened! To the gal who is friends whith the Doolittles I meen no disrespect to the family nor the cemetery. I would never vandalize. I simply want a couple photoes for an urban legend documentry I am doing on my own! I completely understand why the family would not want publicity there due to its horrific past from human hosts! I have photoes of famouse places such as Connecticuts Green Lady cemetery and our own Ruckers Tomb which would rival this place any day in freeky places! I am extreemly sceptical these days of any sort of paranormal things! But as a kid I did believe or want to any way so it still keeps my interest thriving! Do you think if I snuck in durring day I would in up in a Sno HO Jail for tresspassing? And do you think the family would exept assistance on one of theyre clean up days?

dont listen to a THING bubba said, the place is in woodenville, complete OPPOSITE side of washington.. the cemetery is next to a development, but going during the day is less sneaky than at night, the houses around the cemetery arent the families… but they just dont want ppl going there and ruining the grave stones and disrespectiong their loved ones..

I went there with some friends on a few occasions. The first time we ended up trying to go straight up through the woods for some reason and explored across the street. The second time we just parked at the old trail head in front of a gate. 5 minutes later we were there and its not scary during the day. Its almost in someones backyard. I dont recal there being two trails after the gate, just a straight run right into the cemetary. it has two rows of markers divided by a hedge bush I believe. To the left is a huge bunch of wood dropping down toward the road. We say no sign of the 13 steps. Im tempted to return but I wasnt impressed the first few times. The first time there was someone doing yard work and a dog might have barked at us so we left. The second time we had a good look around, did no damage and didnt party there. Now that I am remebering it there may have been two trails but they just went around the upper and lower portions of the hedge bush and the markers. Its realy pretty small and the markers all have the same family name on them. If you go in the dark and have read about the place or heard rumors you might get that thrill of fear I was expecting. Its pretty dark on that trail and the wood are thick. One of my friends who went up there with me said he had walked down the 13 steps and remarked on it looking a lot different from his previous visit. Im not sure why I decided to look it up today but its all very interesting. Another of my friends says his dad and his friends used to go there, when they were in highschool, to beat up on the devil worshippers. Fun stuff!

I think the case is that for some people the stairs apear and for some they don’t the spirit world dose that some times and things do change I live in tacoma and I know the cemetary that I go to a lot is always changing and we have a large head stone that vanashes a lot but there has been so many reports that it’s there and the grounds keeper even says he has seen it be there then the next min it’s gone. So about the stairs being there they just very well might be but only show for some people.

Went back for a third time to Maltby. Went very close to the cars…so strange how they are there. Went to the cemetery again. I agree with the Sins Angel on the appearing and disappearing stairs. They however appeared for me and boy was it odd. I heard more whispering up in the trees I think the spirits there are connected to the entire area. When me and my friend were driving home she saw a cute little mid century girl in the back window in the road behind us. Turns out if you go further down Paradise Lake Road there is a cross for a girl that got hit on the road.

NOWHEREMAN says:

I drove by there recently! Saw the exact same cross! I did not have the nuts to try and sneak in because the house next to it had garadge open as well as people there! There is a conservation trail enterance just right up the street right near by though I don’t know if it is legal to park there? Would make it easy to sneak around probably! I just looked up the 10 most haunted cemetries in US and most of the stories were weak! The best were Stull cemetry in Kansas A simmalar story of the seven gates of Hell and a wearwolf and satans court held there! Sounds familiar EY! Then there is Resurection cemetry in Chicago home of The fabbled childhood game Bloody Marry! And tales of a Vampire! Another interesting tale in suburben Illionois called Bachelors grove said to be home of mythical gangsters ghosts where they were buried after being murdered like a stash burial place! Also a phantom house! I think it is a damn shame they are so Anal about not letting people in Maltby. Its stories rival any top Ten in my book!

Dak says:

Maltby is evil. But so interesting. It is not illegal to park at the trail entrance but I think there is a gate that closes after dark.

With the old crashed cars, the girl that was hit down the road, the disturbed cemetery with dark energy, ACTUAL satanists that use to perform or still perform there (I asked a local friends who’s grandfather explained to me the basics and why people don’t want it to become a tourist attraction.) and everything else. Maltby is simply…Maltby.

NOWHEREMAN says:

September 18, 2010, 12:01 am

I doubt real Satanists still practise there whith all the security mesures! I don’t even think any thing other then alot of litter has been done there since the Eighties in reguards to real satanic or Ocult activities or worshiping! The trail head enterance I am talking about is right up the street from the enterance to Cemetery. There is of course another located about a mile North on paradise LK road! That is main one. If there truely is paranormal activity present then it is probably ghosts wanting people not to vandalise place any more. Maby the mom Doolittle that murdered her daughter. Maby the ghosts of those who recked there cars! To Dak what did the grandparents say about the story?
You guys should google ten most haunted cemetries and vote for it!

He said that it was a huge satanist gathering place actually. Then the meetings disappeared. And now little stupid “satanist” kids come and draw pentagrams all over the graves and “worship”. He also talked about how he knows it is haunted when he went there decades ago and told his experiences that were all truth in my opinion. He was smart, collected, and didn’t sugar coat the real stuff that occurred there. I asked him about the cars and apparently 1 or 2 of those vehicles had someone die in them because the white car in the back of the woods starting a mild fire in the car and a kid burned. But the police or whatever never bothered getting the cars out of there and left them. As for the cemetery he talked about whispers and getting stared down by a black goat with a man next to it. He also saw little girls (but he said they had good energy, just said that they were dead and wanted to be a live so bad they show themselves to people to feel like they are still around and living) He said that place is interesting and nightmare at the same time.

Very interesting! Where is this gut? Would he be willing to talk to me?

Dak says:

His name is Jon. I was over at my friends house near Maltby. I had to pry it out of him even though I have known him for a long time.

“That is stupid…the only way to get to hell is when you die and God chooses to send you there!!!”

Hey April. Since you think it’s so stupid then why don’t you take your *** down there and prove there isn’t any basis to the story about the 13 steps? Substantiate your claim that it’s all bogus with facts.

As for God choosing who goes to hell and who doesn’t, also prove this. That claim is nothing more than religious theological rhetoric. It’s all a matter in what you believe. And just because you believe as you do in God and hell doesn’t make it so. Furthermore, there are many who don’t believe as you do.
