Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

College Ave.

Norman, Oklahoma

A pledge of the fraternity which uses this building died in 1967 in the basement, and supposedly has never left. Activities attributed to this entity include doors opening and closing, as well as lights turning on and off. People in the kitchen and basement have claimed that they have felt a presence near them.

This website is interesting as well as the comments. For those that don’t like this site nor believe in hauntings the solution is simple, dont visit it; and for those who make “poke” fun at it ” , “He who laughs first laughs last”.
I dont take “Hauntings” lightly and know that anything is possible in life. I have had unusal experiences that cannot be explained and others dont understand and “who cares?”; what is important is that “I” know it happened. Other peoples opinions dont matter so if you have something that has sent “chills” up yr spine and cant be defined as human it probably wasnt………

Hello, I have recently encountered something of the “paranormal”. Yesterday, I found a see-through woman eating a see-through sandwich. It was the most horrifying experience of my life. After the clear woman saw me staring at her, she let out a ghostly wail! She grew razor-sharp teeth and lunged at me, so I grabbed my holy cross and smashed her in her see-throgh face, I screamed “the power of Christ compails you!!” she disappeared without a trace. For I know that humans can be see-through, and can vanish into thin air, because scientific law allows this to happen. This is why I was so frightened. yours truly, Brainspew “the believer”

Have you heard about the old “700 Elm” haunting in Norman in the early 70’s?

This is most likely about the Alpha Phi house, which served as the Phi Mu house for the past several years. The Ghosts name is assumed to be Sarah, and many girls who have lived in the house have claimed to have seen/heard her between 11 PM and 2 AM. As norman lore goes, she was killed in an accident during one break, but had significant problems with her family and frequently called the Alpha Phi house her one true home.

700 Elm Ave … I believe it’s currently the Jim Thorp Multicultural Center. If the rumor was true and if my memory serves me correctly, it used to be a sorority house until some incident happened. Many student organizations have used it for their events and/or activities. I have been in the building several times for various events. Personally, I have never encountered any “supernatural” or “paranormal” events, but the place has always given me an uneasy feeling.

The place is apparently the Kappa Sigma house at OU campus. Some of the guys live in the basement of the house and say that there is a eery feeling of someone watching you down there or sometimes they hear another voice when its just them in the room.

I don’t think the Alpha Phi house is the one referred to in this but I know that it also has a reputation for being haunted. For the past two years the house has been unoccupied but sometimes when you went by the house at night, random lights on the second floor would mysteriously just turn on and off. The Alpha Phi sorority has moved back into the house so it’s unlikely anyone would be able to observe this now.

This is totally wrong! I lived in this sorority house! She died in a car crash and there is no basement in this house! There were rumors about a ghost but I lived there for 3 years….not haunted no ghost

I think they’re getting different stories mixed up. I read in this book about Oklahoma called Strange State that there was a boy who was killed in the basement of the cate center at ou and that fraternity house had tombstones in the basement and was supposed to be haunted too.
