Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Courthouse

Boonville, Indiana

The ghosts of public hanging victims haunt this courthouse. Outside around midnight, a rope floating and being pulled in midair is seen. In the basement, one may also hear screams and at times the room becomes so cold, one can feel the presence of despair, fear, and hostility.

My mom worked her. She had never witnessed anything out of the ordanary. I live here and I have never seen anything happen. But I don’t doubt that there are ghost of the people that have been hung.

I grew up in Boonville. I do not live there anymore but I grew up in a house that was very active with unexplained things. I also visited some homes that were also believed to be haunted. I would really like to hear what the people who live in the house have to say about it now. I know that the mother has said that her little girl is talking to someone who is not there. The little girl is in the same room that was mine.

Is anyone familiar with the “devil” graves in Maple Grove Cemetery? It used to be a pretty popular party spot in the day. I grew up pretty close to the cemetery.

I live in a documented, haunted house in Boonville In. Supposedly one of the most active in the area. I keep this info private. Only the para-normal investigation group knows the locale and details. Neighbors and passers-by see and hear our “previous residents” regularly. When we first moved in, the “events” were exciting/interesting, but now they’ve become a nuisance. Honestly, the longer I live there, the less I believe in the whole “stuck souls of dead people” theory. I do believe that the human soul has mass, and mass does not simply dissappear when death occurs. I suspect that the natural materials of the old house could “hold”/ “record” this very real energy. It’s the most logical explaination.

Ok so black annie is supposed to be haunting scales lake park. The story goes that TD Scales (the man who donated all the land for the park) built his house in the woods. one day a fire broke out and everyone but the african american servant girl, annie, survived. now annie roams the woods and sometimes the pavilion. I work there and though I’ve never had a personal experience, we have some documented cases on file…it’s pretty creepy.

My moms’ friend saw a lady that had a car accident a few years back. She had the wreck on 2 way stop on Monroe St in Boonville. She was walking to her room when she looked up and saw the lady that had the accident. She didn’t even get scared she knew who it was.
