Real Haunted House

Crider Road House

Colony, Texas

This three story mansion, which burned down at the beginning of 1999, was without ownership for ninety-nine years. Allegedly, a serial killer murdered over 10,000 men and women in this home. Many reported hearing screams and seeing flashing lights and ghosts when driving down Crider Road. The house was so scary that it was never searched; it never will be.

Uhmmm…if this place claimed that 10,000 people were murdered there and yet no one searched the place, how do they know the exact number and if indeed they took place there. It’d make more believeable and sensible if someone excavated the grounds and found some skeletal remains…otherwise it just a load of ****.

If no one ever searched the house or dug up the grounds, how do they know there were exactly 10,000 murders with no human remains?? Just a load of ****. (P.S. If you hear screams, check the bushes and tree limbs for mini speakers)

Nobody killed 10,000 let alone 250,000 people. Only an idiot would believe such nonsense. If you don’t have anything better to do than post stupid comments, find somewhere else to do so.

drove by it myself thousands of times since i was a kid and before they closed the road off. they’ve been doing tons of weird excavations around it… maybe there is some truth to it? all i remember, is being told they used the inside of the house to film part of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

the road does exist, and before it burned down they used to turn the house into a “Haunted House” every Halloween. It was rumored to be haunted but no one ever really knew the real story.

I believe that the house was there and the road did in fact exist but the number of people killed is a little far fetched. I did some research on the house and nothing came up about 10,000 people being killed or even being reported missing. Call me a skeptic… (:o)*

I lived in the colony from 97-05,Crider Rd does exist,it was the biggest pain in the azz i ever drove on.Made I-635 rush hour look like a breeze.I spent many an hour waiting for the light.Thank god they made the new route:) I remember the old house, last time i seen it there were trailers on the property.I used to think and hope they were restoring the house,it was pretty rough.Roof was sagging pretty bad and trees were growing through the steps,it was a mess. But still a beautiful site despite the rott.I don’t know if anyone was murdered in the house but like i said, before it burned down there were trailers on the land perhaps restoring or who knows? I have many pictures of the house from a digital if anyones interested.None from the inside though,i would have loved to seen it inside!!

OK first off…..I live in TC, have all my life. The house did have owners….just down the road(FM544) in that really nice little house, its an older couple. It was their house and as for no one ever searching the house. Ive been inside that house with my family and I was like 6 years old. Take from a girl from TC, I mean yeah, we all thought it was spooky looking and scared of it but please….if you know TC then you know what I mean

This house was the filming site of Texas Chainsaw Massacre… no actual massacre occured there. The house (what remained) was moved to San Antonio (or Austin, I can’t remember), fixed up, and is now a BBQ restaurant.. the irony!
All that is left now (or the last time I drove by) was a windmill.

The road and house did exist years ago, but no one killed people there. They tore the house down during road construction from The Colony, Frisco, Carrollton areas. Yes, the house existed, no the murders did not. The street has been gone for a while so you can’t say there has never been such a road. Everyone get your facts straight.

Yes, the house and road existed. Yes, some of the interior was used in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the exterior house in the film is in Austin area. No it was not moved to Austin I witnessed it burning TO THE GROUND. And No, not 10,000 murders….not any I have heard of. And Yes, the house has been searched by myself and many other explorers. Just a cool old house and a bunch of B.S. Urban Legend stuff!
I have lived in Carrollton my entire life and this is the truth!
