I went there once late at night and heard “something” that I couldn’t explain and it made the hair on my arms stand up. Wasn’t able to say out loud “Cry baby, cry!” as the story I was told would prompt the crying baby. Pretty freaky, sure it’s just a story like most, but it’s certainly creepy.

There is also a cemetery down the road back in the woods, frequented by people looking for ghosts and the like. There are also visits from some that involve animal mutilation – which adds to the freaky factor. My one late night visit there I didn’t see anything strange, but I could hear footsteps “following” me. I would never go back.

One more, local to hancock county – there is a slave graveyard in the middle of some old farmer’s woods that is rumored to be haunted. The deeper into the woods you go the older the headstones get. Went there twice, the second time there were dead cats hanging in some of the trees. That was the end of visiting that one. The new land owner doesn’t take kindly on visitors in his woods – understandably so at this point.
