Real Haunted House

Crybaby Bridge

Newton Falls, Ohio

This covered bridge with a covered pedestrian walkway was built in the 1800s and is the oldest of its kind. Legend has it that a woman decided to murder her baby and thus threw him off the side of the bridge where he plummeted to his death. Since then, many have reported hearing a baby’s cry coming from beneath the bridge.

I love Cry Baby Bridge. I go there all the time.

I always here the baby crying! You people are just not as cool as me.

I usually like to go to Arby’s and get a beef and chedder and sit there for 3.5 hours slowly nibbling on the sandwhich as I listen.

Sometimes I take my cat Whiskers along.

I want to take a date, any ladies interested?

I’ll share my beef n chedder. Who knows maybe we will swing by the Circle K for a slushie afterwards! SOUR APPLE ROCKS MY WORLD!

Okay I read this same exact story on this same website and it said that the mother and her baby fell off the bridge and this one said that the mother had merdered her baby and then threw it off the bridge …. this doesn’t make any sense.

Again there are 19 of these stories in Ohio alone. Not to mention the hundreds of others in the U.S. alone.

Okay, well, I grew up in Newton Falls, was there when the tornado went trough and all. My sister wrecked my dad’s van into the side of the Covered Bridge and I fished under it all the time. I never heard the story of the crying baby. As for Bill Sutley eating Arby’s under the bridge, WHAT ARBY’S!? Now, if you want some real ghosts from Newton Falls, go over to the cemetary beside the Nazarene Church on North Canal Street. I grew up behind the church and trust me, there are some freaky, creepy, and scary happenings in the graveyard.

Mr. Rick Trump. You must not have been to Newton Falls for a few years. The fine fast food establishment that once was Hardee’s is now an Arby’s! shocking I know, but these things happen. good day sir.

Unfortunately, due to stupid kids that want to be noticed, the actual location of Crybaby Bridge is publicly lost. There are four ‘Crybaby Bridge’’s in Indiana alone, and two thus far on this state’s list.

Your best bet for finding actual haunted locations is to go to your local library and look for a book on it. The internet, sites like this in particular, are the LAST places to look, simply because -like wikipedia- it is user edited content, and as such, I could say that the ghost of elvis lives in my bathroom, and be given as much credibility as anyone else.

I have lived in Newton Falls since I was like 4 and this story has always been around! ugg! Whatever I think it is all fakeola!!! But whatever! Oh and since the bridge has a trailor park and various houses around it with children/babies in them did anyone ever consider that hmmm possibly it could be a real child/ or baby crying??? I mean really people they cry LOUD!!! ha ha ha oh well although there are various “ghost” stories other than this for Newton Falls that may be true you can look them up in the public library!

Ok the thing is probably in a lot of states because the combined sound of the bridge and train can make a crying sound so people think it is a babyand the story is created

I was born in ohio. I have been to six different cry baby bridges (purely by accident, my friends like to bridge jump. Four of them have actually been caught and charged with attempted suicide, how retarded is that, but anywho)I never heard or saw anything at any of them. Then I moved to Tenn. Since I got there, I’ve heard tell of 3 more crybaby bridges. I believe in ghosts, but I think that most of these were the attempts of parents to keep their kids from swimming in the river at night. That’s when the snakes come out. shudder.

My family and I have lived under the bridge for years. Yes, we are trolls. I often hear Billy Goats galloping above. I have also heard Bill Sutley munching on his beef and chedder, but never have I heard an infants cry.

Sometimes when Papa troll eats broccoli, he gets the stinkers. Perhaps that is what you heard?

I live in Newton Falls, I go over the bridge at least once a day now that it has been done. Never once have I heard a baby or woman crying or screaming. I do believe that there are haunted places out ther but Newton Fall’s bridge is not one of them. I live right down the road from it.

I think its somewhere near Alliance Ohio a couple of my friends drove out there last year they didnt hear anything the first time they went but heard it the seconed, they wolnt talk about it when you bring it up. as for me I’d have to go there myself to believe it. I’ve heard and seen paranormal things all my life and I dont nessecarily believe in ghosts
