Real Haunted House

Crybaby Bridge

Newton Falls, Ohio

This covered bridge with a covered pedestrian walkway was built in the 1800s and is the oldest of its kind. Legend has it that a woman decided to murder her baby and thus threw him off the side of the bridge where he plummeted to his death. Since then, many have reported hearing a baby’s cry coming from beneath the bridge.

Well, Im not quite sure if I could Call it a “crybaby” bridge but the area around the bridge definately has some sort of ghostly activity there. Here’s my story: When my friends and I were in high school(about 4 years ago) we decided to do a little “ghost hunting” ourselves since we were interested to see what was out there. So we had found out about the Newton Falls supposed “crybaby bridge” on a website and decided to take a drive down one day around dusk(just light enough to see)but where it was still creepy enough to have some fun! We arrived and parked the car(there were 4 of us)and we got out and walked down to the covered bridge and had some cameras to take pictures and so on and so forth. We all dared eachother to cross the bridge(to see if we could hear the baby crying) and only I and one other person went while the other 2 stayed back….we got about half-way through until we started hearing creeking and creepy noises(just the brige though)and decided it was too much so we went back. It was just about to get dark by this time(still hadn’t heard the crying baby) but decided to take a few more pictures before we left. We had gotten in the car and left. We went and got our pictures developed and found one that really stood out. At one point during the night 1 of my friends had taken a picture of the other 3 of us infront of the bridge and in the picture above all 3 of us was a ghostly figure starting from the bottom of my friends foot and extended up over all 3 of our heads and suprisingly looked like it was “Waving” a hand at the camera. You could tell where the face was and all. True story-no lie. To this day, I cannot find that picture and I wish we would have kept it in a safe spot. Im sure one of us has it in an album but who knows! maybe one day one of us will find it again!

Okay, I had not been to NF for a while but I still know the bridge. There are a number of dd things in Newton Falls. I know the old bakery was haunted and I saw numerous creepy things in both the old and new cemetary. My father did not believe in ghosts however, once when I once was out walking with my parents at night near the new cemetary, he stopped and told us we needed to go home right away, but not through the cemetary. When we finally made it back to the house he told us that he had seen something in the new cemetary and did not want to go near it. I still do not know what he saw but whenever I ask him he just tells me he does not want to talk about it but trust him it was something we did not want to be near.

You people.. are all retarded. I’m 21 years old and have lived in Newton Falls, OH my entire life. I’ve walked through the bridge many times back in the day when I didnt have a drivers license and had to walk to McDonald’s where I worked, very very late at night after closing. Not only then, but many other times. As far as cars turning off when you drive through it.. please.. the bridge is like 10 feet long… you just f*ckin drive through it and go on your merry way. Not haunted, not scary, and they even rebuilt it so now its even more sturdy than it was before. Dont waste your gast to drive from your town to boring *** newton falls.

I grew up in N.F. and walked across this bridge almost daily, Both my parents were born in N.F., and all four of my grandparents moved to N.F. by 1920. In addition to this I have numerous aunts and uncles that lived in N.F. at one time or another and this is the first time I heard this story. It’s a bunch of b.s..
