It is said that a woman and her baby once fell from this bridge and drowned in the water below. Passersby may now hear the sounds of a baby crying every night at midnight.

First of all, forgive me my bad english.
May I ask? Why in the name of Väinämöinen and the love of God these things are always supposed to happend around midnight?! Like, thouse ghost do not have any clocks or what so ever, with them?! I dare say, I belive in ghosts, but COME ON! In midnight! Of course there may be some individuals wich appear themselves in the darkest midnight, but in the cases where I have been here in Finland, the ghosts have not been looking at the time. They come and spook the hell out of me when ever the get their chanse.
And about cry baby bridges.. I have not had the pleasure of hearing the cry of a baby, neither seeing a woman who seeks for her child. Even so, I must congratulate Erin Bumgarner (My appoligez if I spelt Your name incorretly) who, with a true story or false, gave me so called paskahalvaus. You can look it up from a dictionary if you want. I have never been keen to characters which, dead or not, appears from somewhere asking for something. I have myself met one character, who appeard first in my dream and said in the strange hallway “You are not welcome in here”(in finnish, of course). Following day me and my parents went to look our new home. And there was the strange hallway. Same night I heard the cold whisper “I told you, I donät want you here.”, and then the girl/woman stepped in front of me, looking straigth in to my eyes. It continued for several nights, a month I think, when finally I had enouch courage to say to her “Go Away. this is my home no!” She vanished, but not for good. My cousin and few of my friends saw her too few dayds later, but she didn’t bother me any more.

my mom has told me that same story about the cry baby bridge and i have always wanted to see it. my mom told me that when she went with her best freind they saw the mother and the little baby crying at the bottom of the bridge. my mom also said that her and jer friend looked down at the water they saw the babies corpse floating in the water. i do believe her and do believe in ghosts though i have never had an encounter that i know of.

Okay i grew up in Shelby Ohio, and we have this stupid thing called crying bridge, i’m not sure what road it is, but its out in the country on the way to Ashland, and supposedly you can hear a baby crying at midnight, i’ve known people who have tried it. I think its all a bunch of lies, supposedly this amish family was going over the bridge and the baby’s carriage fell out and it drowned. There are stories like this in like every state probably. So those of you who actually go out searching for a baby to cry at midnight on a bridge, obviously has no life.

Ok seriously, if you had a baby and there was some kind of accident that caused your baby to die on a bridge and people went around making up stories that you killed your baby would you still want to belive all of the stuff that is on here? Goast’s I believe are real, but nobody likes to hear about a baby’s. People really should try to come up with something better and more original. A baby goast storie is sad not scary. Come on now people.

Did any of you ever consider that the reason that some people hear/see things and others do not is due to the sensitivity of the person? THere are hard-hearted, skeptical ******** who are in it for the thrills and there are people who can genuinely feel emotion and are open-minded. It is the open-minded people that are more likely to have an experience.

I live in Highland County outside of Hillsboro and we too have a cry baby bridge. I believe in ghost but never the story of the bridge b/c there are so many. All I know is what I have seen and felt. I have seen the ghost of the “mother.” She never locked my car doors and I have never hear the baby cry. I didnt believe this myself untill I seen it. She was sitting on a large rock in the middle of the creek just staring at the water. I have never felf fearfull of her but almost upset with her. I dont know if she is the ghost from the story or just an apperition but I know what I saw.
