Killion's Irish Inn in Caseyville is long known to be haunted. From when the bar was purchased from the previous owners until now. Unseen is proud to show the pictures of the apparitions we photographed and the EVP that told us one female ghosts name. There are other strange things that go on. One of the investigators got touched (which ended up being a burn in the shape of a finger it lasted 2 months.) during provoking. The jukebox plays at night, pool balls make noise althogh they don't move to the eye, people party and a residual of a woman we caught on film is seen sitting at a table appearing to converse with others. The neat thing is the floor in her photo is old wood slats, but in reality the flooring is small square tiles. One apparition floats 2 feet up off the floor. She is in a dress (used to be a dress factory early 1900's). There is also a video as well. The lady in the ghost dress floats right past our camera and milky white pointed fingers go by as well. All these photos are on our website to view. All our photos are copyrighted and the investigations there continue. This bar is for sale. Complete with real spirits. They are all nice but do demand respect so beware. Unseen Paranormal Research and Investigations.

btw lynn
YES the enos house is haunted bigtime. i toured it on the "haunted alton" tour. it was a sanitarium that people were sent to live and die when they contacted a disease of the lungs, tryin to remember the name of the disease but hundreds died there. a lady that lives in one of the apartments now said that doors open n close all the time and hears people talking when no one is there constantly. on the tour they will take u in the basement to the tunnel used in the underground railroad.
funny, when my coworkers and i were talking about things happening at the tire store to a lady that worked down the street she said that was nothing that she had things moving in her office all the time! TIME TO FIND A NEW JOB if it were me. alton is a very historic beautiful river town and anyone interested in ghosts should go there. they say the local paper, the alton telegraph, building is very haunted also. altons full of ghosts!

i am in alton right now, born here and raised here. mcpike mansion is well documented yet there are many many haunted places in alton. the old prison is one haunted place. mineral springs is VERY haunted, the jasmine lady is very active there along with other ghosts. they say that alton is so haunted as when they tore down the prison they used a lot of the bricks to pave many of downtown altons streets which supposedly spread the spirits around town. the prison was a miserable, cruel place and many prisoners are buried right under the road that is there now. there is a small piece of the corner of the prison there today. if you are into ghosts, altons a good place! i worked in a motorcycle shop that was in the old alton tire store on broadway... i had personal experiences there myself and coworkers had many experiences thre, there was a guy named joe that lived and worked there and was killed in the basement by a tire machine mishap, he likes to play tricks but is not evil, if you dont beleive in ghosts i dont kno what to tell ya except that you are small minded. check out alton!

I live near Alton and just watched "Ghosts: Caught on Tape" on the Biography channel. It came as no surprise to me that footage of a swirling mist in the McPike Mansion's cellar was one of few clips not dismissed as fake.

Several years ago, two friends and I took daytime photographs of the McPike Mansion with a non-digital camera. We weren't trying to capture ghosts, just the beauty of a grand old home. When the pictures came back from Walgreens, they contained an obvious mist that had not been visible to any of us at the time. It looked like white smoke at the rear left of the house in the first shot. In each subsequent picture, it got larger, closer to the foreground and further away from the house's foundation. We were amazed and wondered if some entity had come out to greet us...or chase us away. The resident spirit there is not rumored to be kindly, so proceed with caution if you visit.

There is one other building in Alton I would testify is haunted. At the Enos Apartments near downtown, I saw two doors open on their own and received many "psychic impressions" for lack of a better term. There are tunnels underneath it from the Underground Railroad, and it was a sanitarium of some sort in the early 20th century.

Millionaire's Row is technically in Godfrey, not Alton, and consists of many posh mansions and ridiculously overpriced land. I've never been inside one or heard of any hauntings, but older homes and rich families do tend to reek with drama. If anyone wants to check that area out, the trick is to avoid the guarded gate by going a block or two to the left or right and proceeding back toward the water.

IF you want to see a real scary places that is really is haunted then check out the OLD ALTON PAPER MILL (now is Jefferson/Smurfit Cardboard) its not an active plant but it is still is guarded because the company store stuff there from other plants that are. I used to work there as security and there are some active ghosts especially at night. noises, things moving by themselves, cold spots, things banging around by themselves, lights going off/on, whispers in the dark, etc. alot of guards quit the nightshift because of it!

If you want to see real haunted locations in Alton, check out the Haunted History tours offered at www.hauntedalton.com. WE first offered ghost tours at the Mineral springs and last year got the city of Alton to allow people into the basement of the McPike. We take groups all over Alton to many haunted and interesting locations. As one of our co-founders likes to say, "it is easier to point out the houses in Alton that arn't haunted, than the ones that are."

Millionaires Drive is in subdivision off of State Street in Alton. This is where the old and new Olins mansions are. I don't think you can go back there and look anymore, as they have put up a gate.
