Real Haunted House

Daniel Burgess House

Plymouth, Massachusetts

This house, which sits across from a cemetery, is said to be located on the site of the first Massachusetts hanging. There have been various reports of a child wailing and singing erratically and without melody in the attic. Keys and wallets often turn up missing never to be found again. Throughout the house, there are said to be many hot spots in which the temperature is several degrees above normal.

Sounds to me like this “ghost” is a cleptomaniac. Bring your wallet and keys so the ghost can take your car for a test drive and steal your credit cards!

just wanted to let you know there are plenty of hauntings on the southshore(south of Boston) there is a place called the Bridgewater Triangle, i believe it borders abington, bridgewater, whitman, strange sightings, there is aplace in Bridgewater that is a swampy area that supposed indians of the past show up at night, strange creatures are seen, dissappearances, it’s creepy as hell, animals won’t go near there and people have been known to disappear, if your feeling brave give it a try

I’m from plymouth and used to do the lantern tours. Which house is this? Can you tell me the road it is on or which cemetary it is closest too? Is it the big one next to burial hill? There are a few cemetery’s in Plymouth.

I went around the Bridgewater triangle, also known as the Hokomock triangle. I never saw anything weird. there is a cemetery in Bridgewater on 28, near Brockton, across from Dutchland Drivethru, that is said to sometimes have a light shining from a certain part of the graveyard. I always go by it, hoping to see it…but I never have =(

I live in Ply as well. there are may of these houses in Ply. Most of them have little plaques to the right of the front door with the names of the owner who used to occupy the house,or who built it. this Burgess house i beleive is across from the Jhon Carver inn, which is next to the side entrance of burial hill. there is several houses right there alone, as well as carver st ( the old wax muesam) , leydon st, middle st, nelson st (moses simmons house),and summer st. check out the history youll be amazed at what comes up!!!

I also live in plymouth and I am always downtown. I love to bask in the historical essense of this place. but I have never, in the 17 years that I have lived here, heard of this house. And I even have the same last name! creepy…but I’ll look for it. It has to be somewhere.

Seems like many of these haunted websites have identical copy/paste information on this house, but does anyone know whether or not this is now a private residence, or converted public or historic building that’s open to the public? I’m wondering if there’s someone to contact about setting up an investigation at this house, if someone knows could you please email me?

Thank You.

I recently opened at shop at 31 north street, plymouth. it used to the tea and curiosity shop. The shop has been written about in many ghost books. Not a day goes by that some type of paranormal activity happens. Monthly we hold paranormal investigations. You can join us. $100 gets you to join in our paranormal investigation and stay overnight in your own haunted bed room. Our first investigation last week we had a ladies that stayed in the most haunted room. They were contimplating on using the ouija board. until the TABLE MOVED BY ITSELF. Then during night one lady sat up quickly and elbowed her sister waking her up. She thought her sister was leaning over her feeling her breath she woke up. Her sister was asleep until elbowed. all this was filmed on our cameras. I think 31 North street in plymouth is the MOST haunted Place in Plymouth.
