Daniel Burgess House
This house, which sits across from a cemetery, is said to be located on the site of the first Massachusetts hanging. There have been various reports of a child wailing and singing erratically and without melody in the attic. Keys and wallets often turn up missing never to be found again. Throughout the house, there are said to be many hot spots in which the temperature is several degrees above normal.

just wanted to let you know there are plenty of hauntings on the southshore(south of Boston) there is a place called the Bridgewater Triangle, i believe it borders abington, bridgewater, whitman, strange sightings, there is aplace in Bridgewater that is a swampy area that supposed indians of the past show up at night, strange creatures are seen, dissappearances, it’s creepy as hell, animals won’t go near there and people have been known to disappear, if your feeling brave give it a try

I’m from plymouth and used to do the lantern tours. Which house is this? Can you tell me the road it is on or which cemetary it is closest too? Is it the big one next to burial hill? There are a few cemetery’s in Plymouth.

I went around the Bridgewater triangle, also known as the Hokomock triangle. I never saw anything weird. there is a cemetery in Bridgewater on 28, near Brockton, across from Dutchland Drivethru, that is said to sometimes have a light shining from a certain part of the graveyard. I always go by it, hoping to see it…but I never have =(

I live in Ply as well. there are may of these houses in Ply. Most of them have little plaques to the right of the front door with the names of the owner who used to occupy the house,or who built it. this Burgess house i beleive is across from the Jhon Carver inn, which is next to the side entrance of burial hill. there is several houses right there alone, as well as carver st ( the old wax muesam) , leydon st, middle st, nelson st (moses simmons house),and summer st. check out the history youll be amazed at what comes up!!!

I also live in plymouth and I am always downtown. I love to bask in the historical essense of this place. but I have never, in the 17 years that I have lived here, heard of this house. And I even have the same last name! creepy…but I’ll look for it. It has to be somewhere.

I to live in Plymouth and there is no such house. Just a Nathaniel Burgess who was killed during the civil war and is extremely haunted but off limits. I know because I am a member of DEAD OF NIGHT GHOST TOURS here in Plymouth and we are always looking for places to investigate so if you like haunted places join us for a tour some night you wont be disappointed.

Sounds to me like this “ghost” is a cleptomaniac. Bring your wallet and keys so the ghost can take your car for a test drive and steal your credit cards!
