Ok I have friends who have went to the playground and were gonna take pictures but there camera didnt work right i mean it would turn on and show a black screen but it wouldnt take pictures. I also have friends who left the playground and the next day had mysterios bruises on them

I went last night w/ my husband, sister & brother-in-law. Was definately creepy (especially walking up the road to it!) We got creeped out at first b/c there was 2 other groups already there. We talked to them for a few minutes and parted ways. We was the only group left and as soon as my flash light hit the swing set, both my husband and I saw a small figure walk from one side to the other (was about the height of a child and had light/white hair.) Then out of no where there was 2 men dressed in solid black and they were not moving at all. Every angle we shined the flash light on them…we could not see their face!! We took pictures and everything…and they were not in any of the pictures! And when we turned around to leave something was being thrown at us and was hitting this metal roof that covered some benchs we were at. But unfortunately as we were leaving we were confronted by the cops…and asked us to leave and that it was against the law to be up there at night and that a barracade was put up at night for a certain reason. But overall..pretty spooky and very fun!

I would love to go there, I have read about this place for years… I wonder if there is a way to get special permission to go there at night? If anyone knows please let me know…

I went there during the daytime. Im chicken at night i will admit that. My boyfriend got out of the car and i seen one of the swings moving back and forth but the other two were not moving at all. and this was during the day time.

i think it is sad the way they found the kids.(caitlyn) i wish to go and see it for myself it wound be so cool so ya(rikki)

For the past several years we have investigated several haunted places,with this “Dead Childrens Playground” being the best! I have many pics with orbs and when you zoom the pics in,you can see they are actual children.there was one photo I took as the swings started to move to and fro by theirselves.My brother sat in one of the swings and I took a photo of him and there were 3 orbs around him, one which looked like a child kneeling to pray and the other was in somewhat the “casper”.On the next photo,there was a face of a little girl her hair laying over her shoulder looking as if she appeared just for the photo. The 1st time I went to DCP… I was recovering from back surgery and wasnt able to run with the rest of our group,so I stayed behind and tried to hide in the darkness to wait on them and I heard what sounded like giggling.and whispering..it kinda spooked me in a way that made me want to go back. so now we have made it a pact to go every year and it just gets better. anyone who has never been…I encourage you deeply to go. we have developed a paranormal group that we now call S.K.I.D.M.A.R.K.S. comical yes…but there is meaning behind it.Thanks for taking time to read this and Happy Haunting

if you people do not believe that this place is haunted i have pictures to prove that it is..as well as maple hill.. very spooky… there is one picture of an orb with an old mans face in it.. i wouldn’t make this stuff up.. i do believe in spirits.. i love spooky tho so we played with the “kids”.. i’ve never been hurt there but the cops will come up there and it is not legal after dark so be quite..

Me and my team went there on November 12, 2008 and it was definately creepy. It was a 100% full moon, and the weather was windy and stormy. It rained most of the time, but me and my friend watched the swing twist around by itself. we also got an evp of a jack in the box music playing in the background as one of my friends was going to swing by the swing that moved. We also heard growling, and when we played back our EVP recorder we have little yelps of children as well. It is definately a place to go that has activity. We will definately be going back when the weather isnt so disturbing.

going to dead childrens playground is really creepy. i hvae been many times and i get spooked just the same. i recomend you bring a flashlight and if you find your name on the playset you should get away from there, and dont return. i recently found my name on the playset two times, if you look up pictures of the playground you will see.

I have lived in HSV my whole life. The story about them finding bodies of children in the 60s is false. It is a very creepy place though. And a lot of the stories may come because of where it is located. It is behind Maple Hill Cemetery. It makes me think, WHY of all places would you put a playground there? Its totally secluded from the road. I’m not saying it isn’t haunted, Just wanted to clear up the rumors. Maybe the children buried in Maple Hill are the ones there playing. Its a nice thought.

I was at DCP on June 6, 2009 I was swinging on a swing and next to me I felt a little girl in the swing. It was daylight and I was there with my brother-in-law. We took pic’s while there. As we where there it was very peaceful.

I have been to dead childrens playground so many times its uncountable, we first started going when i was 13 and im now 28. We have experienced many things there. Swings moving to and fro with no wind and calm weather, the faint sound of childrens laughter traveling through the air. Its definetely an eerie feeling you get. I love it though.

I grew up in the area in the 60s/70s and the wive’s tale was the children were sacrafied by Satan worshipers….of course, if you grow up in the South, EVERY evil deed is perpatrated by satan worshipers.

I’ve been going to that playground ever since I was two, and I never heard of it being haunted until a couple months ago! Dad would take me there (when the old playground equipment was still standing) and I’d slide on the slide and swing,all the stuff you’d expect a kid to do. but you can climb this little mountain and find these really weird trails up on the plateau.The branches on the trees bend over so you have to crawl through them, and you easily lose which trail is which.I never really questioned Dad when he sudenly stopped bringing me there, I just thought he fogot or something. But I went back up with my frined a few weeks ago and got TOTALLY lost up on the mountain in those creepy trails. We ended up in that old baseball field instead of where my Dad was. And there were patches of mud all over the place, and the whole atomosphere was creepy. Dad says that I used to talk to “people” when I aws up there, even though it was just me and him, but I can’t remember. Now that I know about what’s been going on there though, I can go back and try to figure it all out. So thanks!

a few friends and i went up there tonight, two of whom did not believe in ghosts, spirits, anything of the sort. I have always been able to sense, see and feels spirits, and got an overwhelming feeling walking onto the playground. First, the temp dropped a good 20 degrees in the area of the swings. All of us, including the skeptics did hear giggles, laughter, whispers and actually a cry and a scream. We did sit on the swings, and the one next to me stat=rted to swing by itself. I felt there was a little girl right there. When two of us walked onto the other play equipment, we heard more laughter and a cry, i also saw a few small orbs on the edge of the woods. It was an awesome experience, and i plan to go again and investigate some more.

My family and I have been there many times. We love to go visit “the children”. We have had manny strange experiances there too. Once burger king bag moved as though someone was digging inside. and then it fell over. Also we have experianced the swings moving-not on a windy day. We hear laughter at night. I love it. I reccomend going there:] Oh and by the way,there is a statue in the cemetary that cries blood. Interesting i know.

My friends and I just heard about this place today and plan on going real soon. Which statue cries blood?

Its a huge angel.basically the only one there and it has only babies or small children buried around her. Ive never witnessed her crying blood tho. Others have though

After reading this article I need to make clear that the group that was mentioned is not a legit Paranormal group in Alabama with known to do things that have gotten them such a bad rap..,I would like to make somethings clear about Maple Hill and Childrens Cemetery, You can not do investigations there at night! They do not allow it and if they catch you they will arrest you for tresspassing,on that note you can do an investigation with permission from Maple Hill and can only do it during the day. However being there during the day theres too much noise that takes affect on the Childrens Playground,however did get some interesting things back on the cemetery. This past weekend we were up there during the cememtery stroll and learned some much needed history of the place and the hauntings that seem to go on. I so suggest that people do their homework before going over there and doing it by law..I also suggest that people need to check for legit groups and history before going to this place.

I grew up in Huntsville and spent, probably, waaay too much time at DCP. I’ve seen orbs in pics taken on camera phones, as well as swings moving, and I’ve heard giggling. The most awesome thing about DCP is that the playground is in a big sink hole; you kind of have to walk down into it. But no matter how dark it is outside, no moon, no stars, no kind of light at all… the playground is always bright as ****. Bright enough to make out peoples expressions on their face without any kind of flashlight. Theres a trail behind DCP that goes up on top of a cliff… it’s pretty cool. But about a year ago the city took all the old playground equipment away and putt all new **** in. I’ts not scary or creepy at all anymore. Ok so I have live near Dead Childrens Playground all my life. I have been up there several times with different people each time not once have I ever seen anything like everyone is saying, I have heard every tale you can think of bout this place and never been able to prove that it is true. I mean it is gonna be spooky because its a playground right next to the cemetary. but theres no children or any other figures there. I believed it at one point but never saw anything and all the people i went with never saw anything either
