Real Haunted House

Devil’s Road

Monmouth, Illinois

The road is marked by the sign of the devil–666–atop a dead end sign at the end of the street. Allegedly, the grim reaper stands in the middle of the road as cars approach. Just as the car is about to mow him over, the reaper vanishes into a puff of smoke. When the victims return the next day, burn marks tell exactly where the reaper appeared. Also on the road is Haunted Bridge. Legend says that young couple came around the curve too fast and fell of the bridge to a watery grave. It is alleged that if one stops his car on the bridge, he will be guided to safety. Bare footprints have been reported on rainy nights. Many others have also put powdered sugar on their car and reported hand prints after leaving the bridge.

The bridge is at a downgrade the other landscaping makes it appear uphill and the fingerprints are there from previous hands touching it. If u scrub down the back of ur car before putting the powder on then the fingerprints won’t be there afterwards.

The bridge one is actually true the only thing about it is it isnt call hunted bridge and it wasnt a couple who died on it. It is cry baby bridge and it was a school bus of young children and you go to the end of the bridge (either side) and shut your lights off and you engine with it in nutral and you will be pushed across the bridge and if you put baby powder or any powder substance on your car you can see the small hand prints of the children. We also took pictures and you can see the orbs pushing the car. If you would like to see the pictures i am on facebook! Just search for Breanna Remaly! I am actually going out there tonight i will post pictures when i get back!

Geeze. There are Cry Baby Bridges all over the United States aren’t there? And I have heard the same story about railroad tracks and the baby powder trick in a ton of states as well. The most famous one being in San Antonio TX. The group of school kids on a bus. The bus apparently stalls out on the railroad tracks and they all get hit by a train. Very few survived. But legend says. Go to the bridge and put ur car in neutral right at the tracks. Put baby powder on the bumper. The children will push your car across the tracks til your car is on the other side of the tracks. Then if u look on ur bumper, there will hand prints from the children. All the streets around those tracks were named after the children who died in the accident.Im not saying any of these stories are fake, it’s just strange the same legends are happening in so many diff places.

Bufords is not true! My family lived there and no one hung themselves. It is an old campfire story just like crybaby bridge. Crybaby bridge actually started out saying that the house burnt and they couldn’t get the baby out. They said if you sat and listened that you could hear the baby cry, which was just an old windmill in the distance. I’m sure it will keep growing to where the baby will make an appearance.

I personally have never been to this bridge, but one of my friends has. She went out there with a bunch of her own friends, did the whole car in neutral thing and the car got a really sudden strong push, they found childs’ hand prinds on the back of the car. Believe me, she’s not the type of person to lie!

Also, its called Cry Baby Bridge and its not a dead end. I plan to go out there and film it myself sometime, just gotta find a friend who’s not scared to go. :P

PS: @”Barb”/”Barb Huyser”, I’ve read your book, some of the orb photos are fake while others are debatable. Spirit orbs emit their own light, transparent orbs are dust. And there are typos in it.

I went last night.. My family owns land out there, the land is about 1 minute away on the same gravel road you get out there on. The land also has part of  the stream that’s under cry baby bridge right next to it. To be honest it’s pretty scary… There is a really old blue swing out by it and it moves by its self, the swing was there when they bought it. There is also road signs in the middle of the land that says titans 1 and titans 2 and there’s one more i just don’t remember it.. Also there is another sign that says witches house 1 mile and one mile would be about over the stream. Anyways we went to cry baby last night and let me say it was the worst experience in my life. So we went in the back of a flat bed truck. Now let me say that takes guts… When we were driving down the road my aunt took a picture and there was an orb. When we got on the bridge we parked at the end and got out. It wasn’t that scary until my anut and uncle started taking pictures.. To many orbs to count..we brought baby powder and it worked. There were hand prints on the truck before we even put it on the truck.. When we were pulling away there was a little kids laugh as clear as day. At the end of the bridge there was tennis ball. My dad bounced it and it went flying towards the bridge. When we got back to the land we were looking at the pictures and my uncle got a picture with an apparation of a lady. When you zoomed in there was notice able arms, legs, hands, feet, everything! I don’t know about you but I think we should get ghost hunters out there!
