Years later I found out that the old lady was known for picking up kids wherever they were asleep in the house and taking em upstairs to bed. This house has been converted into apts several yrs ago.I lived downstairs and my brother lived upstairs. One night and I can remember this clear as day.I would always fall asleep on my couch watching television.I would do this pretty much every night. One night I diid this.No big deal. But the next morning I woke up.I was upsatairs in my bros. apt.No rhyme or reason.I never sleepwalk.I never have ever.I was really freaked out about this So I go downstairs and my apt is locked. So I go inside and my t.v. is still on with the remote on the floor.I never told anyone that but one person. And they told me how the old lady would pick up the kids rock em upstairs and put em to bed.Im getting chills now typing this. But I would also always hear and see things there too.Mostly black shadows moving in the night.Like shadows of figures.Door knobs turning with force,Get up to check and they;re be no one there.Investigate it.I can gurantee you will catch an evp of some sort at this hotspot.

The house still stands. Its on the corner of Center St and Clark St.The address is 1 Clark St.I lived there for 5 yrs.The place is definetly haunted.I ve heard the babys cries, doorknobs turningby themselves, kitchen cabinets opening and closing.Ive heard the old lady's cackle many times.I ve also heard her signing lullabys many times. The story I was told was.The house is very old.I wanna say 1900's.Supposedly an old woman lived there and she babysit for alot of her neighbors kids. One night she was coming down the stairs with a baby in her arms to tend to her laundry downstairs.she had a heart attack and rolled down the stairs and landed on top of the baby killing it.Well the woman survived but she was no longer allowed to watch the kids no more. The woman was devasted and became very depressed,One late night she kept hearing cries from a baby.Well she wentdown the stairs to investigate. She seen the ghostly image of the baby who died.well the poor thing had another heart attack and rolled down the stairs and died. After living in thathouse I was also informed that many of the neighbors atthat time believed she was a witch.

I believe I know this house. It is in Robards, in Henderson County. Or it was until a few years ago when it was torn down. The old woman did not fall down the stairs. She was found beside the mail box by neighbors, and it was assumed she had a heart attack. The house sat on a hill and the driveway was a good hike for an elderly woman. I lived in this house when I was young.

The sounds of children playing and a baby crying could be heard daily. They weren't ghosts, but echos of all the kids she cared for. She pretty much ran a day-care for kids in the area, though I don't think she was paid for it from what I've heard. I'm not sure if she was ever married, but she had no children of her own.

When she was found, she was never taken anywhere until after the funeral. A coffin was brought in and she was placed inside. She stayed in the parlor(my parents bedroom when I lived there) until she was buried. On the wooden floor where the coffin sat was a red rectangle that looked like blood. Nothing would cover it or get rid of it. My uncle tried painting the floor with a black paint, several coats of it. As soon as the paint was dried, the stain bled through.

Footsteps could be heard daily, though mostly at night. She would come through the house and check on everyone. Every night we were tucked in, then kissed on the cheek. Sometimes we saw her, but we always heard and felt her. You'd think we would have been scared, but she always gave off a comforting, loving feeling that made you feel safe.

What I know about her I learned from the farmer who lived across the road. I don't know when she died, but the farmer was a boy when it happened and he was in his 60's or 70's when we lived there in the early 1980's. He played at her house from a young age until she died. He wasn't sure exactly how old he was, but remembered being pretty young. I believe his father was the one who found her. He remembered his family talking about her, and how no one confirmed how or why she died. There were even rumors of her bleeding, which doesn't happen with a heart attack. We moved and I got older, so I didn't look into it any further. Now the house is gone, the hill has been flattened, and a local farmer uses the place to park his tractors. No one is still alive that knew her, and their families don't even remember much about the rumors.
