Responding to the first comment on this page: Why do you care if the story isn’t written correctly! I wouldn’t wory as long as I could read it. Are these all a bunch of English teachers on these sites? And your not the first to complain about bad grammar.

I’ve never been there, but I don’t think I’ll waste my time since no one has anything good to say about it.

I live in southern henry county, just a few miles from dumpling hill. This place does seem to have something going on there. We weny there one night and heard limbs cracking and a strong breeze went past us like someone ran by us. also, we thought we saw a figure coming towards us but we got the heck out before we could be for sure. The cemetary is located on henry/mansfield road off of hwy 77 or off highway 79. its the only cemetary on that road as far as i know

My aunt lives down the street from this Cemetery many of times late at night my cousin and I would go up there and walk around just to see if something would happen. Not a thing happened. I never felt, heard, or seen a thing. Therefore, I do not believe this story to be true.

I have been to dumpling hill, and I am here to tell you this is the real deal. We traveled there in a car. There were four of us, 3 girls and one boy. When we got there we all jumped out of the car and headed for the top of the hill. We spread out a blanket and wrapped up because last night it was really cold outside. It was getting near 12 o’clock, and when it reached 12 exactly we saw something come out of the trees. it was silvery and shinny and we ran like no one’s business.

Well, if you’d like to know my experience there, I guess I could tell you… Let’s see… My cousins Winter and Forest had talked me into going ghost hunting at Dumpling Cemetary afew weeks ago, and let me tell you, I was awfull!!! We went around 11:37pm when Forest suggested we split up. I remember checking my watch over and over again. I was terrified of haunted anythings- Still am- and all I wanted to do is Leave! It was exactly 11:58pm when I’d heard a moaning coming from a tree in the distance. When I screamed, I expected one of my cousins to run out from behind it laughing. When no one came, I went to inspect it. Nothing. And when Winter and Forest did show up, they told me that they hadn’t see or heard anything. It was at that exact moment, all three of us standing under the tree that a almost evil moaning echoed from above us, and when we looked up, the siloett of a man’s body dangling from a branch appeared then dissapeared. It happened so quickly that I hadn’t even noticed when we’d started running. I’ll tell you one thing, i’m never ever going back. (And by the way, I think I have Excelent grammer for a 14 year old!) -P.S. I would suggest you not go to that cemetary, by the way. As soon as I stepped foot there I thought something was wrong. I only knew something was wrong when I was running out screaming. Do Not Go.

Actually, this story is quite true. The ghost will only bother you late night, around nine o clock, the man committed many crimes. Since at the time there was no justice for African Americans and he was punished the same way many others were at this time. He was hung. So around late night, go by there and see what happens, I live in TN, its quite amusing around here sometime.

Ok for one~me n my cousin have been going around n investigating places like this. We went to the Pleasent Grove Dumplin Hill Cemetary one night and it is NOT haunted. The legend is a fake! We were there for 2 hours n Nothing happened~but we did get a strange picture with some kind of white fog mist smoke in it. And it was the only pic that had it in it. But there werent any noises or movement anywhere. N we had made it known that we were there. No activity was proven. Just that strange picture my cousin took with her highly digital camera. Other then that it was just fun to go n check it out. But its in the middle of nowhere in the Paris area..but If your really looking for something haunted~ Want a scarey cemetary to check out!? Go to Asbury, Ky. near Coldwater, ky. We had a strange n scarey time~But I WILL WARN YOU!! Make SURE you Leave Be For It Gets Dark!! N TRUST Me you Will Get Scared!! n Dont be Surprised if your Car Doesnt Start At First~He is called the “Crazy Man”, n HE DOES Chase You Out of His Cemetary!! NO JOKE!!

2nd my cousin and i just went to the cemetery 2 weeks ago oct 2009 and at first felt little spooky but then we relaxed and walked the whole cemetery the outskirts of it …nothing then we heard this huge noise in the woods which coulda been a tree branch or whatever but i took my digital camera and got this kick butt photo of this huge fog. out of 15 photos there was no mist fog or anything accept that one so i believe i caught something.

And we did stand around the fenced grave of the slave i took numerous pictures but only got the one facing the woods . Not the big tree in front but there is a vine hanging that looks remarkably like a noose

Hey all
I live near Paris and have never been to Dumplin Hill Cemetary but would like to one night. Cemeteries are hard to investigate cause of the openess of it~~ being outdoors~~ could be anything makin noise, animals, wind, trees etc. and ghosts or spirits won’t come on cue. They may appear one night to someone and may not the next night and depends on the person as well.
