Real Haunted House

Eliza’s Spirit

Bangor, Maine

During the 18th century, a witch named Eliza lived is this home. Since her death in 1831, every family that has resided in the house was haunted by her spirit. In 1945, the house burned. Eliza’s spirit, however, continued to wreak havoc, often screeching during the night. Some brave souls have stayed at the site and have all met Eliza.

I live in Brunswick Maine and only have lived here for sevven years. I am originally from Massachusetts. I grew up with stories of Lizzie Bordan and the Salem witch trials, but I would love to hearany ghost stories there are anywhere. I also grew u[p in Newfoundland Canada and there aremany stories of ghostly hauntings.

I loved in Bangor bck in 2001. I was a nurse at the then named BMHI (now the D. Dix Center) Anyway…total truth here. There are abandoned areas in that place that haven’t been used for decades. One day a young security guard and myself and another nurse decided to go check it out. The wards looked like something out of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. We were in sperate areas in the ward (same floor) in broad daylight when we all ran to the place we started as we all heard this “Help me Help me” It was not any of us..as we were standing together blaming each other on pranking us we again heard it “Help Me Help MEEEE” We RAN down the stairs ever to return to that areas. (we would have been fired if we had been found out as it was not allowed to go to vacant areas.) We were told also in orientation of some stange goings on in that place. I quit after 4 months…the place had a creepy sinister feel too it and I just couldn’t work there. I am very surprised there is no mention I can find that the place isn’t haunted. I would bet my life it is!

Now this story is interesting? Because of the fires they had in Bar Harbor in the 1940’s????? Wonder if someone has the location mixed up?

are we talking about stone house here? Ive only been there a few times but it matches the description its in Hermon, its weird its the walls and floor no roof and it sits on top of a hill and its surrounded by boulders people take there off road vehicles up there not sure but it kinda fits….so if im right ask any one that rides trails and they will know where you gotta go

Ok, I would like to know where this place is. Email me the info if you have it. And as far as everyone else who say witches aren’t real… please recheck yourself… Because I grew up In New Orleans Louisiana. Voodoo is what those witches practiced… Voodoo is very real… Not something to be taken lightly! I’m also looking for a lot of other haunted places in Maine. Coming from New Orleans, I’ve been to a ton of haunted places down there and have seen a lot of things! Would love to see some now that I live in Maine.

Hello, I just recently heard about this haunting and was hoping that someone could give me an exact address. I don’t believe in ghosts and figured I’d stay the night at someplace that allegedly has a great deal of activity. That way I can have an opinion based on experience rather than lack of experience. I would really like to go there tonight(Halloween) if possible. Hopefully someone sees this message before then. I’ll keep looking for an address in the meantime. Thanks a lot.

I have almost always lived in a house where things go bang in the night. Doors shut..footsteps..lights on and off…and once a man was seen going into my place. I have never liked this but always put up with it. But I now live in a mobile home and nothing much. I always say no basement..no ghost.
