The swimming pool at Husson University (formerly Husson College) is supposedly haunted by a student who drowned there in the ’80s. Security gaurds have heard splashes in the pool after the doors to the pool area have been locked and everyone else but the gaurds have left for the night. One story I heard was that a gaurd heard the splash just after locking the doors and went to look back in the area and saw the water rippling like it does after someone has jumped in – the gaurd freaked out and wouldn’t go near the pool after dark by himself after that. Another story is that the dining commons is haunted by a ghost that pushes all the chairs into the tables after the building is locked for the night and no one is inside. A third story is that the former ETE sorority lounge is haunted – odd noises and voices were sometimes heard in the lounge when the rest of the hall was quiet and the lounge unoccupied (and not just by the sorority girls), and that the big lounge window sometimes would slide shut on it’s own with no one near it. And if you want a ‘possible’ haunting that hasn’t been mentioned by anyone, the cadaver lab used by physical therapy students was housed in Bell Hall’s basement until about 2 years ago. Bell Hall is also a residence hall for students.

Interesting story about the pool at Husson. I was going to school there when that student drowned. Her name was Anne and she was a student at Penobscot Job Corps. Job Corps used to house it’s students in Bell Hall. I knew her and I was on the air at the campus radio station when she drowned in the summer of 1985. I remember waving to her through the studio window of as she was walking to the gym that day, then seeing the ambulance pull up not long after. I was told she had some type of seizure while in the water and was pulled out by a couple of Job Corps students but it was too late. Very surreal and very sad. She was a sweet girl.

I know this story beacause I was a witness. There was a little girl named Aminda. She had asked her mom if her and her friend could go to the doll shop and buy a new doll. They both went to the doll shop, and Aminda saw a doll that was so beatifully hand made and carved. Aminda had went up to the casheir and paid for it. The cashier had warned her to keep her doll outside at all times and lock youre door. Aminda always listed but not this time.It had then started to rain very hard out. Aminda brought the doll in so it wouldnt get messed up.She put the doll downstairs in the kitchen pantry.(The pantry door didnt have a lock.) Then that night when her parents were out of town, and her babysiter was sleep and couldnt hear anything, Aminda started to hear Allys in the kitchen. She just thought it was her imagination. So she went back to sleep. Then she heard Allys at the stairs. Aminda started to get scared so she put the covers over her head and went back to sleep. Then she heard Allys at youre door. She went down under her covers. Then she heard Allys at youre bed Allys going to kill you. Aminda looked up and Ally the doll was holding a butcher knife.Ally the doll had stabed Aminda. Then Amindas babysitter came in and quickly called 911. Aminda was hurt really badly. But she did live. Aminda then relized that the doll looked like a girl that used to bully Aminda. Aminda told her mom who told the princpal who told the girl who bullied Aminda mom. The girl said that she would get back at her. Then the girl had died of pneumonia. So her spirt just took on the doll and tryied to get back at her. How I know this story is because I was the friend of Aminda when we went to the doll shop.

I live on Hammond st. in Bangor. I don’t know of any such Hauntings. But I will say where i am, and what goes on in my Apartment would be enough to set stephen king through the roof. I have seen Orbs, Heard growlings that which sound like a dog, and the spookiest is when you’re alone at night and it’s dark I don’t reccomend standing with your back to a doorway or where anything can come through you will gat walked up on and walked through.
