Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Fayetteville Women’s Club

Fayetteville, North Carolina

During the Civil War, this house was inhabited by a young lady and her lover. As the Union Army was fast approaching, the two tried to escape through a tunnel that led to the Cape Fear River. The tunnel, however, was blown up. It is said that the house is now haunted by the couple. It is reported that the Lady in Black appears on the stair case of the three story house on many occasions. Her lover is said to go into the apartments that are rented out and watch television with the tenants. It is said that people see the imprint of a body in the couches or chairs that are near the television. It is said that if he does not like what show they are watching, he will change the channel.

This is no story yall this is LEGIT!My mom mentioned this house to me from the time I was little she would always tell me spooky stories about the womans club.I decided one night to get a group of friends together and ride out to the haunted house. From the moment we pulled in the parking lot we all got a very erie feelin. As my friend and I walked up to the door we decided to see if it was unlocked a couple of shakes later the door wouldnt budge, the freaky thing is when my other friend decided to test the door out surprisingly she found it suddenly unlocked….we got freaked out and ran to the parking lot….MISTAKE#1…Deciding who was going to go inside the house we were all bs’n around lookin at the mansion…I swear on everything I looked up at the second story and saw a women in a black dress starring down at me! It freaked me out so bad it was like I was in the twilight zone it felt like we locked eyes forever!!!Tears just started pourin down my face,it was weird I wasnt crying bc I was scared I was in shock!!!!After that experience I’ve never retured back to that house!

When my husband was in the military we used to live at 100 Bradford Ave, an apartment complex right across from the mental insitutuin in old downtown Fayetteville, and a few houses down from the museum. From what I remember this building used to be a hospice for terminally ill patients, and during the civil war it was part of the arsenal and used also as a hospital.

Our apartment was definitely haunted. So haunted that I even saw my own cat that I unfortuantely had to put to sleep. On occassion, I would sit at my computer, writing away, get up to go to the kitchen for a snack, come back and find the computer unplugged. Go back to the kitchen just before paper towels were thrown down the hall way, rolling to my feet. I have always been connected to the spiritual realm and I thought this quite funny because the spirit in our apartment was a prankster. So I’d laugh, and then tell the spirit that it was funny but that I’d had enough of cleaning up after its messes and let it know that it was time to give me a break. I think it just wanted to be recognized once in awhile.

Well me and my friends played with a ouija board and we actually got something on it that we can understand what it is spelling and saying to us, well we would stand up cigs on the floor and they would just stand there and when we ask can u knock it over and it moves straight to yes so then in just few mins the cig starts moving back and forth in front of your eyes where then it falls over, while the other one is still standing until we tell it do move that one as well, and no no one is around this at all. It did several things and we got freezing cold when we ask could it touch one of us, that is some creepy mess, and yes it does work, it will spell out your name, age and everything, that creeps me out just a lil. But I do believe in ghost and I know that they are real, I have heard a lot of things and espically at night in my house that have come espically after playing with the ouija board. Would like to know what all has happen to others if u have played the board to. I know u have so come on with the storys. Thanks.
