First Ave. Club
Once Greyhound Bust Station, it has been said that several homeless people have died here. In particular, one teenage girl allegedly hanged herself in stall five of the womens restroom. IT has been said that if one enters the stall after dark, her ghost will appear. There have also been reports of equipment being thrown off the stage during musical shows.

I have been to 1st Ave many times. I knew it had been a bus station, etc. I find historical places very interesting and believe that spirits are real. Believe me, I have experienced them quite a bit. I was reading all of these postings & thinking, “Gee, I haven’t seen this girl when I’ve been in the bathroom.” Then I read the comment & description from Bird…”The girl isent ghostly with red eyes. Those who have seen her say she is in an army type jacket with bell bottoms on. She looks like a real girl…only she walks away when approached and seems to vanish into the darkness. Many have seen her only a few realize she is a ghost.”
I realized that I have seen her. I will be more aware the next time I go in there.

I used to frequent First Ave. all the time in the 80’s and early 90’s (my youth). I have probably seen 30 or 40 bands perform there and have been there a total of 100 times. I have since moved to Kentucky but in all the time I spent at First Ave. (a place in which quite a few famous performers got their start) I have never seen or heard of any spirits. Most probably BS.

okay. i grew up living in Minneapolis,MN. i’ve never really paid much attention to clubs and 1st ave. but i gotta say, I remember hearing similar stories related to this so i say that it’s true. it makes a lot of sense because from other experiences that i hear of, they mostly happen in Minnesota. everyone who goes there, even though you don’t believe the story, i bet you’re feeling kind of nervous.

I worked at First Ave for several years. There are some areas of the dance club that the most ’surly’ of staff won’t tred (the curren VIP room was and old store room that many are still uncomfortable in). I have spoken with staff members that have ’seen things’ and I have had some moments there myself. The stories actually are of an older woman that died there when it was the old Greyhound station, and not of a ‘young woman with red eyes’. Before it was a bus station, it was actually a school. It was never a slaughter house. Most of the hauntings come from the old woman that died there, but there are many more spirits that are seen walking through where the original floor used to be (straight through where the ‘new’ floor rises up to the bar) after hours. A cool thing to know is that the black and white tile dance floor is actually the origianl floor of the old Grey Hound bus station.

I have been to 1st Ave and never experienced anything paranormal. But again, why do those who haven’t experienced paranormal there be disrespectful and call those who have names and say they are stupid. Shheess…just b/c some of us haven’t experienced paranormal there doesn’t mean others are nutz or whatever. I thought this was a free country and we could express our opinions w/o being called names, maybe I’m wrong?

A few years ago there was a story on the news about local haunting stories, including First Ave. They said before it was a bus station it was a slaughterhouse and that people occasionally think they hear animal noises.
