Gadsden High School in Anthony, New Mexico brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “school spirit.” The Old English building located at the front of the school seems to house not just one or even two ghosts, but four.

All deaths of children are tragic, but the torture of the ghostly child who still haunts the High School is the stuff of parental nightmares. Many years ago, during a school dance, a young female student named Ana was supposedly forced into the building’s basement by two males, where she was raped and murdered. Another story says that Ana committed suicide in a second floor classroom. Whichever horrible end Ana came to, she is seen now as a white apparition. Ana walks through the school’s halls from one end of the building to the other, walking straight through walls. Students and staff have claimed to either see her or hear her, and some have even witnessed her trek as they were standing outside of the school building, looking in.

A student saw her recently while waiting for the after school buses to leave. She and a friend were looking up at the very last classroom on the north side of the second story when they saw a girl in white looking out the window. Behind her the building was dark, but the girl seemed to be luminescent. Ana seems to concentrate her wanderings to this location of the building.

One employee who used to work in the library claimed that there is a yearbook where you can actually see Ana’s apparition. It seems the boy’s basketball team had an extra member in their team photo. Standing at the steps of the Old English building behind the team is Ana.

Another haunting is that of an Hispanic janitor who was accidentally locked in the basement under the boy’s gym next to the Old English building over winter break supposedly sometime in the late 1970’s or early 80’s. In late December, stand by the railing next to the concession stand. You will hear him pounding on the metal door and calling out “Ayuda me!” forever pleading for help. The janitor is said to be joined by a boy ghost who also died needlessly in the basement. He broke in on a dare, got lost, and did not make it out alive.

The girls’ gym is said to have a spirit that turns the showers off and on as well as the lights.

Many students say not to ask the teachers about those who haunt the hallways of Gadsden high School, but go to the custodians. It seems they are not nearly as sketchy about what they have seen roaming the halls, bathrooms, and basements of this tragic school.

well i am a freshman class of 2013…me and my friends have been trying to see something but i guess it will happen when we least expect it probably when were alone OOOOoooo!!

I goo to this skoo :] yay am a junior ii havent seen nuthn in our school but wen yu go in the old english it doez feel like sumone is wit yu!! nd many of my teacherz have told me they have witnessed this!! :[ But GADSDEN HIGH SCHOOL is tha best Heck yea!!!

I WENT TO GADSDEN HIGH SCHOOL,,CLASS OF 00′,,MY FRIENDS,MY COUSINS AND ME ,,WE ALWAYS STAY AFTER SCHOOL AND HANG OUT ALL OVER THE SCHOOL,,ONE TIME WE WERE AT THE OLD ENGLISH BUILDING HANGING OUT,,AND I WANTED TO GO TO THE RESTROOM,,FOR SOME REASON I NOTICED THAT SOMETHING WAS INSIDE THE RESTROOM,,I NEED NOT WANT TO GO INSIDE,,BUT I DID,,,SUDDENLY THE DOORS OF THE RESTROOMS WERE OPENING AND CLOSING AND THE TOILETS WERE FLUSHING, I GOT SCARE,,,BUT I DIDN’T SAY NOTHING TO MY FRIENDS AND COUSINS….I MEAN I FELT THAT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING WAS IN THE RESTROOM,,,LIKE SOMEBODY WAS WATCHING ME….THIS HAPPEN ON SEP 1999,,,,THAT BUILDING ITS SCARY,,,

I went to this school also, Class Of 2001 *******. I just wanted to comment on all you alumni’s grammar, I mean wow did you idiots not learn a damn thing while attending school. You guys probably got D’s for English. Use spell check, its easy to use, and Gadsden proof,oh I mean Idiot proof. Educate your selfs NINJAS. EC

Class of 89, Me and some friends were there to help out clean up after a dance party, as the night went on I noticed my friends look changed to worried, they never said anything, I went to the rest room and flushed the toilet when it stopped it flushed again for no reason, I was washing my hands and as I finished got really quiet in there and heard a male voice someone talking softly inside the rest room but could barely hear it, thought it might be on the other side of the wall, So we all finished and got the trash out and cleaned up checked the doors all locked, we were told we would be doing the Janitors a great favor, After a while As we were going home I asked my friends if they were ok, one swears he saw a shadow of someone in the hallway, the other said someone pulled his hair and no one was there, I told them about the rest room I heard someone there, They said the Janitors left early and locked that side of the building, No one was there.
