Real Haunted House

Ghost Light Road

Jacksonville, Florida

A man was once driving down this road when he crashed and was subsequently decapitated. If one drives on this road at about five miles an hour, a white light will approach the car and then hover above it.

jane… I allways love a good arguement. I have not seen the light but one time. mst of my case lies in the insterments I use. also the consistancy of the equipment shows that something is going on out there. maby we can hook up and check this thing out together E-mail me and let me know…also looking to start a local jacksonville club if any one is interested..also bring someone with you so neither of us feel like this some date or something lol

Who’s the skeptical jerk who wrote “its fake this isnt even real its not even happening its just a illusiona and you people are really crazy to think that could happen even if it doesnt thats insane. Someone is really crazy, thats really crazy to believe that.”? First of all, you seriously need to work on your spelling and grammar, second of all why are calling everyone crazy, you jerk?! Gosh, just let people what they want to believe, even if you don’t like it!

we have been on that road too. But we have a different story. We saw a pink headless cat hovering above us. We were walking, not in a car. So we grabbed the headless cat by his tail and cooked it and our boyfriends ate it for dinner. It was freaky. then our boyfriends died. and we saw them on the same road 2 weeks later

Well, whether or not it’s real is still up for debate. Some people of had experiences, others (like me) haven’t. Both the road itself isn’t scary or anything. It’s one of the main roads in the area and has a lot of traffic on it now.

About 20 years ago two of my brothers and an now famous medium visited the road to investigate the ghost light. We did see the light and after watching we discovered that the light was caused by headlights curving around the road at the end of ghost road. I really wanted it to be real but this was not the finding.

me and a group of my friends used to go there about 13 years ago,we would have 3 or 4 cars with us,we would drive slow down this road,we would see 1 light coming toward us then it would dissappear,,then we would see one tail light behind us. we didn’t see it everytime we went out there, that was along time ago i dont remember the whole story, something about a motorcycle wreck and they found everything but the headlight, tail light and the guys head?????????

Nick,

I’ve heard two different stories. The first one (and most common) says that a motorcyclist was driving down the road and wreaked. The light you see coming at you and then disappearing is a replay of the accident. The other story, the one Jennifer mentioned at the top of the page, is less common and deals with a “mental hospitalâ€? at the end of Greenbriar (I believe that it’s a group home for people with mental retardation). A person escaped and then was killed near the road. I haven’t heard that particular story since middle school but the motorcyclist story seems to be the agreed upon story for the area.

I’ve seen the light too. It was about 10 years ago, scared the **** out of us. Same thing, light following us, then disappeared. I’ve heard the explanation about the intersecting road, but it’s weird, because the light seemed to be right on top of us, like a semi truck with it’s brights on.

I just went out there tonight for my first time and i was completely skeptical and we stopped our car and flashed our lights three times and out of nowhere a very distinct white light appeared just one coming towards us. It seemed to be a mile or so away. I figured it was just a car. So we started the car and as soon as we started the car it dissapeared. I was still skeptical and so we did it again. The exact same thing happened. I wanted to wait until it got close to the car and it was maybe a quarter mile away, just that one single light but then another car started to come up behind us on the road so we had to move and it dissapeared again as soon as the car started.

O.K. I am back.

#1 If anyone, especially someone with instruments(even the non-experts) want to go ANYWHERE around the Jax-FL area(s) to “Search for ghosts, aliens, etc.etc.) then COUNT ME IN.

Bring along a cute girl or be one and you just may get dinner out of the whole deal. Either way, I saw some weird **** (e.g. lights and so forth) while on the damn road 16 years ago–now the whole damn road is different because it goes to 210 and it just isn’t he same “dirt road” that it used to be.

Still today, what I really remember is the “mental hospital” which I would love to drive past again. We saw the light after passing the mental hospital (about 1 miles past it) on the dirt road & it was strange to say the least. Yeah, it could have been a road somehow and an optical illusion but since I don’t even remember exactly what the road looked like and since it has been changed–I am not really the best guy to explain the logistics of the road layout.

That being said let’s have a GHOST LIGHT ROAD PARTY and seriously have some fun.

I have been down Greenbrier Rd. many times, spanning several years. My first experience was pretty much the norm.Single light drifting at constant speed and then single red light as if it passed thru us.No drugs,no booze, just teenage curiousity.I think the mental patient thing is hooey,my history comes from and old family friend from Fruit Cove/Switzerland area….a young man was driving his bike too fast and lost control.being thrown from bike and killed.I still dont know what i saw, wont call it a ghost but wont say its not. Also SEAN I am interested in starting a research group for the Jax area also.I am serious and would like to do it legit.

O.K. 2 THINGS:

#1 Any female humans who not only would like to go to the damn road to look for the damn ghost–and maybe even have some damn SEX–COUNT ME IN.

#2 I personally think that the ghost has found his head, drank the whickey which I left for him and purchased a new harley to chill on–Word on the street is that he cruised over the the Jacksonville Gold Club on his new bike (and a bit tipsy) and picked up one hell of a stripper–EASY ON THE EYES (so-to-speak !!)

#3 Anyone that wants to go to any other haunted house that probably is scarier–I obviously have some time on my hands and DO NOT mind spicing up an evening…St. Augustine is cool by me and they have got some good bars.

I too am 110% SERIOUS for starting a research group but would probably be better at ust joining one of yours. COUNT ME IN ON THAT TOO.

okay let me just say YOU PEOPLE ARE SO STUPID “it’s a mental hospital i think it’s a house for the mentally retarded” NO REALLY WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST GUESS and another comment “where is the road” JEEZ I WONDER MAYBE IN JACKSONVILLE and i’m not even going to start with the last comment HELLO YOU PEOPLE ARE SO STUPID

Jane says:

April 10, 2006, 10:21 am

Um, Annoyed, what is that about? Not a lot of people travel down that side road to see if it’s a mental hospital or a home for people with mental retardation (two VERY different things). So, it could be a lot of different things down there that change the story. Also, the road isn’t in Jacksonville. It’s technically in Switerland (or St. Johns, according to the vote in the area and you could even make a case for Fruit Cove). Everybody just says Jacksonville because most of the mail is address that way and it’s the closest city to the area.
