Ghost Light Road
A man was once driving down this road when he crashed and was subsequently decapitated. If one drives on this road at about five miles an hour, a white light will approach the car and then hover above it.

Listen “annoyed”–EAT ME.
I want to break into the mental hospital and do a “little research” in there…You got a problem with that too you jerk off son-of-a-BIaatch?
Just go to the road, slice your wrists & let me know what you see.

Dont get it… just because you are a skeptic, and you have your own opinion about how the world works, gives you the rite to come in to a message board and “LOOSE YOUR DAMN MIND”…ANNOYED CHILL!! its going to be alright remember people are not perfect and sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes people have different views than you…You know what…its o.k.
no charge for that
Dr. Sean Engelmann…lol

I have lived in Jacksonville my entire life and have heard the stories about Greenbriar road, but unfortunately, i have never had the chance to go out there. Would like to do that someday. However, i also wanted to mention that there have been sightings of a vanishing hitchhiker on Girvin Road (which is actually in Jacksonville), and my teenaged daughter and i drove up and down Girvin Road one morning at about 2 a.m.-we drove up and down and kept turning around for about an hour and a half-i started summoning the ghost by saying, “Come on, show yourself”-after doing that for several times, we came around the curve and there was a young woman standing on the side of the road summoning me to stop-she was moving in what seemed to be slow motion-it scared me to death-i gunned my SUV and my daughter jumped into the backseat and was scared to death-i contacted the Jacksonville Ghost hunting society and emailed the description of the girl, what she was wearing and hair color, and she wore glasses-they e-mailed me back and said that that was the best visual description that they have been able to obtain from anyone, and that yes-that was the vanishing hitch hiker. Just thought you all would be interested in the story. Happy Haunting Hunting ALL!!

O.K.
Dr. Sean Engelmann…I have to agree with you there. No more ridiculous comments and/or the “LOSING OF THY MIND” so to speak.
Now WENDY. Was the girl holding a can of beer & a nitrous oxide balloon because I think that around that time, a chick I picked up from The Fly’s Tie Irish Pub freaked out and jumped out of my car–at exactly that time & on that road. If so, she would have been wearing a poka-dot skirt & thigh-highs with heels. She may have been mistaken for the ghost hitchhiker but who’s to say?
Maybe not.
Anyway, I am going to drive up & down that road as it seems that the GHOSTLIGHT RD. is pretty much lame-O these days.

okay people.. affiliate with jacksonville amateur ghost hunting society.. the deal is.. this place is out there and it is real but most follow the paved greenbriar road that goes past bartram trail hs and thats not the right place.. its a dirt road that comes off of greenbriar on the left if youre coming from san jose and its near a horse stables or something like that.. its also called greenbriar.. you cant get back there anymore because theyve built houses on it and if you do find a way the road is in bad shape youd prolly need a truck lots of abandoned farms and a burned down asylum.. and a gate that closes off the road about halfway down… but if you guys know an alternate entrance that you can get there by vehicle please let me know my sn is smokinwitabandit@aol.com

After reading the first few posts I was sceptical, but some of you present a decent arguement that this is a cool place.

You are all crazy, and most of you have no English skills. When someone reads what is written in this forum, most come away with the idea that you are all a bunch of uneducated idiots. You can’t communicate using proper English. How can you be taken seriously if you use words like “prolly”? Do any of you have a high school education?

I lived off of Roberts Road about 13 yrs ago, which runs a few miles from State Road 13 (San Jose Blvd) to Greenbriar (Ghost Light Rd). Greenbriar runs a few miles from SR 13 (just a mile or two further south from Roberts Rd & SR 13) to 210. I guess you can say SR 13, Greenbriar & Roberts Rd form a triangle. All of the roads are paved now with many more homes & a school or two. I have been on that road MANY MANY times, driving slow & fast, in both directions. I’ve never seen anything, but didn’t know about the ghost until a few years ago, and I haven’t gone back to look for it, eventhough I still travel that road often. I want to make a special trip just to investigate & will let you all know what or if I see anything. My husband heard of the story too & is who told me of it. Also, I have no idea where the asylum or home for the mentally challenged is, never heard about that part of it.

I went down that road once when I was a teen. It was me and four other people, all uncomfortably packed in a mustang coupe. We drove towards the highway lights. The lights at the end of the road are simply headlights from cars on other roads. However, after a policeman pulled us over and told us the story, we gave up and started heading back to SR-13. It was when we were heading back that there was a single, red tail light in front of us. We chased it down as fast as we could, and no matter what, it stayed about 15 feet ahead of us. We came screaming on to the paved portion of the road, and immediately turned the car back around. As soon as we did, we saw a bright single headlight sitting where the dirt met the pavement (this was when it was unfinished). It moved as if turning around, and then we saw a red tail light again, and it slowly disappeared off down the road. Both lights were far too bright to be from the distant highways. Put me under oath, make me sign a sworn statement, that is exactly what we saw. I remember that we were going slow and we had our lights off. DON’T DO THIS, IT IS UNSAFE.
