there really is no such thing as a hunted house the things that people see and here are soles in the house. people when they die don't go away they go tho the places that meant the most to them their true home. this is a true story... i lived with my grandparents in Parishville NY, my grandfather built their home by himself. he got sick with cancer and fought for 9 months befor he passed away. when i go there and camp out and have fires on the riverside my grandfather sits in a wooden swing that he built rocking and watching me. i have seen his silhouette. they do the things that they enjoyed doing whether it be good or bad!

choice,

I doubt you’ll see this, but House of Pain is located in the Eastman Dental Dispensary. It’s a Halloween event, but the building is said to be legitimately haunted.

The Qualtrough Road “house” that you’re referring to is a haunted attraction. You may have noticed “Haunted House of Rochester” signs around town during the Halloween season. It’s not a true haunt.

Valentown is supposedly haunted and allows tours/ghost hunts. You can actually spend the night. Check the website for additional information.

The Spirit Diggers is a team dedicated to paranormal research in Western New York. They’ve led several expeditions, though I haven’t yet participated in any.

I’m extremely interested in the paranormal and would love to investigate the “haunted” areas in and around Rochester. If others are interested or have information on research teams in the area, post the information! :)

I read on another site, that there is a house in Dansville, NY. This was an old castle..the MacFadden Manor, which was used as a mental facility. It is abandoned,so I hear, but is not legally open for anyone to enter. There are lots of things in there that are falling apart, like the elevator shaft and maybe the staircases, etc. If one were to try to go there, they could be arrested, if caught. I have not been there, but just read about it, tonight.

I was reading about some haunted house on Qualtrough Rd., but can't find it, now, to see if it is still open for tours. It was several weeks ago.
There is, also, the Mt. Hope Graveyard tours and the Eastman House. Otherwise, there is a set up in Southtown Plaza, just for Halloween tours. There is a "House of Pain", which I am not sure, but might be set up in the Frontier Baseball Field. I haven't been to any of them, but would rather go to a bonifide place, than a place that is just set up that way.

Good luck and happy ghost hunting:)

Hello,

i would like to join the rochester paranormal group. if you know any info on this please email me.

i actually work in a group home in webster that i believe to be haunted. Ive heard a keyboard being played when i was in the basement when i was working a overnight, ive heard foot steps, ive seen a doll in a resident room been thrown on the floor ( its too high up to reach) ive also heard doors shut and the radio will turn on at full volume by itself. we used to get phone calls at 3am from a angry man saying that we keep calling him. Funny thing is...most of this stuff happens during day when there is only one person here.

I've lived in the ROC all my life and I've never heard of this place.....seems like it would be kinda cool to see if it were true.I lived in those apartment across from the hudson wal-mart in a haunted apartment for like 4 yrs.Things started off slow but as the years went on things just got more freaky. The first thing that ever happened to me there was when I was laying down listening to music(as I did almost ever night b4 bed)all of a sudden something pressed on my chest really hard and my bed floated about 3 inches off the floor and shook for about a minute...scared the crap out of me to where I stoped sleeping in my room and would bring the air bed to my mom's room at night.Lights would go on theyre own as well as toys.I had my named called a ton of times. My mom faint once and she said in the back of mind she heard a lot of laughter and with all that one voice told her to get up because I was along and "THEY" wanted me.One of my cousins ended up taking the apartment and had some friends move in with her.We told them about some of the things that happened to us and they didn't believe us until things started happening to them.Believe what you will but all of those things really happened.
