Real Haunted House

Goldfield Hotel

Goldfield, Nevada

Following the impregnation of a prostitute by the manager of the hotel many years ago, the manager became angry at the women for the incident and took her to his hotel. As her pregnancy became more obvious, he chained her to the radiator in one of the rooms., and when the baby was born, he killed them both. The hotel has been closed for many years with no power to any part of it, but on some nights there are several lighted rooms. Workers have been hired on several different occasions to do restoration on the hotel, and due to the many unexplained incidents, the hotel restoration has never been completed and has changed hands several times. There have been several ghosts seen in several parts of the hotel, including the prostitute, the original owner, and two other men. Paranormal experts have visited the hotel many times and have determined that it is one of the nine portals that connect our world with the spirit world.

Wow, That sounds really cool. I haven’t been there but would love to check it out…Umm I lived in Reno Nv for 4 years….there was this place like 5 blocks or so from down town on Plumus street…..It’s now a breakfast in bed place as far as I know…I haven’t been back in 3 years…it was a house…I heard that it was haunted when they were rebuilding it…I didn’t belive it till I went in it. Sometimes at night, the adict light would be on and u can see transparent images thru the window….most of the time it was a man and a little boy. You can definately feel the presence of something there when you were inside….and even when your in the yard. it’s wierd…

Well, since it says that the Hotel is closed down, I don’t see how it’s possible to ask to stay in any haunted room, or to dine there, for that matter.

Also, like Ina, I’m curious to know why he waited until the baby was born to kill them. It would seem to be a lot less trouble had he done it before she gave birth, but then murderers aren’t always the most logical people, I guess.

It is also said that you can find childrens hand prints high up on some of the walls and that you can hear a child crying at night.

Many people believe the same hotel owner that chained the prostitute to the heater, threw her baby down a mine shaft that the hotel is built over.

It is ironic because I actually worked construction on the hotel in the mid-late 80’s. (I didn’t see anything though.)

I would love to spend the night though.

Isnt GoldField by Virginia City..? If so.. this story is believable in my opinion! Anyone who’s been there (Virginia City) can agree that that entire city is CREEPY!! How cool would it be to stay in the hotel for only a couple of hours.. Thats definetly on my “To Do List” before I die.

I have a question for the masses. My daughter heard about a haunted insane asylum in Nevada. She thinks it’s in a town with “Springs” in it. I have done a search and can’t seem to find anything. Has anyone ever heard of this place, and where is it? Thanks so much.

Goldfield and Virginia City are not very close to eachother. Virginia City is however reputed to have several haunted places. There is Julia Bullet’s grave stone that glows at night and the Gold Hill Hotel claims to have constant activity. I was a bit disappointed that there were not more mentioned for Nevada…There are many areas that are widely known for paranormal activity here.

I thought that this was an abandoned hotel? Does anyone know if this is correct? If it is open, it would be really exciting to try to get some EVPs inside.

The Goldfield Hotel is closed and has been for years… The true story is: The owner of the hotel was having an affare w/a maid. She thought he would leave his wife if she had his baby. Instead he locked her in the attic changed to a radiator until the baby was born. Then he took the baby to the mine shaft in the basement and threw it down the shaft. He left the mother locked in the attic where she died. The owner of the hotel also founded a dormatory/school for american indian children to be trained to fit into “white society” These kids were brought from all over the country… There was a fight between the indians and the whites. all the kids were locked in the school and died in a fire… rumor has it that the owner would take them into the basement of the school to torture and rape them.

to jxrandy: the place you are thinking of i believe is the waverly hill asylium in Tenn. It was originally built for rich people with tb. they have tours and you can check it out on their website. Truely a haunted place.

I actually snuck in the hotel back in the summer with my two friends. I grabbed one of the keys on the piano (it was peeling). And we took many pictures inside the hotel. I have a picture of myself in the room with the radiator. We wanted to go to the basement, but it was too dark and we didn’t have any flashlights. I’ll post a link to the picture tomorrow.

I live in Nevada and Goldfield is a real place and that hotel is there. I’m not sure whether that myth is true or not. I plan to go there this summer and find out. I don’t know if I have the guts to sneak into a haunted place though! Lol
