Elizabeth couldn’t be heard because its rumored that Wingfield ordered to close that section of the hotel were she was. So that no one couldn’t heard her crying and screaming in childbirth. Some say he killed both of them, others say that she died at childbirth complications.

I was just in Goldfield twice on my roadtrip this past weekend. We stopped at the Hotel at night. The reason it hasn’t been fixed is because the companies buying the Hotel to restore it go bankrupt and sell it off again. The owner of the hotel now lives in a trailer out front. The lights are on at night sometimes because actual people are in there working. It’s not the ghosts. And the story about Elizabeth is that she got pregnant and the owner was either married or just embarrassed to be with a prostitute, so he waited for the child to be born and killed it. Supposedly he left her tied to the radiator and she burned to death.

I don’t think we know all about this place. I’ve heard there were so many instances here that could lead to the place being haunted. For example, people would come here when they were down on their luck and commit suicide. This was a huge tourist spot and brought the ONLY business to Goldfield. So the Hotel hid homicides/suicides/deaths. That was before it was known to be haunted. When the population dwindled, the place was known as being super haunted. Then THAT was the only reason people came to Goldfield. Now that it’s closed, they have nothing. Once it’s open again (hopefully it is), it’ll be another story.

There are many more haunted places in Nevada. If you want a real haunt, try the Old Washoe Club, Piper’s Opera House, the cemetery, or 4th Ward School in Virginia City; The Gold Hill Hotel in Gold Hill (I have a DVR recording of the ghost in Room 4); Ward Cemetery outside of Ely or any of the over 100 ghost towns and mining camps from the 1800s and early 1900s.

I was one of the workers that had tried to restore the hotel. I was eating a turkey sandwich. I had some mustard and mayonaise on my sandwhich. Fries and a coke were sitting next to me. I took a long sip from the coke. I then ate some fries before taking a bite of my turkey sandwich with mustard and mayonaise. When i was done with my lunch i remember going to the restroom. I was constipated. I blame the ghost.
