Real Haunted House

Gravity Hill

Moorsville, Indiana

About sixty years ago, an elderly woman was making her way up this hill when her car ran out of gas. The woman got out of her car and began pushing it up the hill. She was not very strong, however, and eventually, the car rolled backwards on top of her. As she lie there, injured, an oncoming truck ran over and killed the woman. Today, if one puts his car in neutral at the bottom of the hill, the old woman will push it to the top.

I want to go and see if it’s true, people only put up vage directions that don’t either don’t include the name of the city or the name of the street. Can anyone help me out?

Okay okay, where exactly is Gravity Hill, you keep telling us that is is on HWY 42 in Moorsville Indiana, but no one says exactly where. I would like to take my sons there and try it out for ourselves but no one gives directions.

Gravity hill is for real been their several times and is on Keller Hill Road Approx. 1 mile west of S.R. 42.
Make sure you come to complet stop then put in neutral. Dont give up eventually the car gets up to 30 mph in neutral.

I have been to Gravity Hill many, many times and it does really work. I don’t believe any of the stories. I believe that there’s just a pull there on the the earth’s surface. I have been reading many comments that others have written and a lot of people are saying that you go the other direction or backwards and actually, when I go there, on Keller Hill Rd., about a mile or so off of hwy 42, I always turn my car around and face back towards 42. i first put on my flashers, I come to a complete stop just at the beginning of this very small incline, I then put my car in neutral, while my foot is still on the brake, then I release the brake and the car will roll forward very slowly. The last few times I’ve been there, it didn’t roll very far, but on other occasions, it took me all the way to the hwy.

well this story sounds pretty dang dumb because i dont think that a old woman would even try to push a car up a hill but then agin how big was the car and how big was the hill but i wouldnt even push a car up a hill and how did the car that hit her not see her or tha car that she was pushing? well it doesnt make much sence to me but i dont know maybe it is true?

What is is the his that apears up hill is really down hil but the down hill is large covering about a third milke so what looks like it’s going up hill is really on a large scale going down hill.

Yes – Exqact Directions from Overland Park area to Gravity Hill in Drexel, MO would be really appreciated. I want to go and do some research. Because, although I am a firm believer in logic and refuse to accept these bogus ghost stories, I am stil completely torn apart about this.

I went to Gravity Hill and our car did the usual rolling up — down, whatever — the hill, but then right before we reached the rail road tracks we started rolling down the hill again. If the horizon theory is infact true then how do you explain the rolling forward?!

Anyways — I forgot the direction bc I wasn’t the one driving – so how in the heck do you get there?

…Yes..”Gravity Hill”…Perfect name. If you would like to here what I know its that an old lady ran out of gas and was stuck. Then a truck came and killed her.. I’v never been there but I do think that ghosts are real. If they are not then who are you to be when life disepears? You’d either live nothing or live a ghostly life. If you put your car in nuetrel she might take you up the hill. Its scary to me but also very insteresting. Good luck to everyone who makes it to ..”GRAVITY HILL”

The truth is you are not going up hill. The surrounding area makes it an optical illusion and it appears that it is actually up hill.I know this because my friend and I went there with his transom to take some measurements to prove this to ourselves. If any of you don’t know what that is, it’s a tool used by engineers to check elevation. You can see people using them at just about any big construction project. The baby powder thing is just going to blow off and show where you, or anyone else has touched the back of your vehicle. It is sticking to the oils left from your hands, just like when they check for fingerprints on c.s.i.

I have lived on Keller Hill Road for over 10 years and I have heard the stories. Some years ago I was talking with a contactor who was giving me a quote for some work. Before he left we were talking outside and he asked if this was the road where “gravity hill” is. I said yes and pointed in the direction that the “hill” is.

He thought it was the right road and told me some years back (perhaps 15 years now) that he was building a house at the bottom of “gravity hill”. When they dug for the basement he said they hit “quick-sand”. He said they almost had the basement dug when they hit this sand and water under heavy pressure.

He had my attention and I asked him what did they have to do. He said they had cement delivered for days and kept dumping it until it stopped! This story was new to me and he told me that he always wondered after that if it had anything to do with the stories about “gravity Hill”. Anyway I just stumbled onto this website a few minutes ago and thought I would post this.

Perhaps there is some unusual geology going on too- the southern glacial drift ended very close to this area. North of us is relatively flat farmland and from here on South are the hills of southern Indiana. as a matter of fact from the top of Keller Hill Rd. you are about 300 feet higher than the surrounding area and can see for many miles South & East through the cleared trees towards the hills near Martinsville.
By the way I didn’t read all the posts here but if you have heard about railroad tracks in your “gravity Hill” story it is not on Keller Hill Rd.,there are no tracks on Keller Hill Rd.

Im from mooresville North Carolina…not Indiana and we have the exact same story too…me and my friends did the same thing and parked the car and put it in nuetral…it did work…our story is the one with the lady and her kid…there car broke down and they had to push it but an 18 wheeler hit and killed them so now there pushing your car to safety. I doubt these stories are true and its probably some gravity pull on the earth since its all over the united states…just like that girl from missouri said she had one, but its still fun to do it.

Hey,
Sorry, id like to believe the stories, but has anyone ever taken a level meter to Gravity Hill to check whether it IS infact just an illusion and you are actually travelling downhill instead of uphill?

Give it a try and tell me what your findings are.
