Gravity Hill
About sixty years ago, an elderly woman was making her way up this hill when her car ran out of gas. The woman got out of her car and began pushing it up the hill. She was not very strong, however, and eventually, the car rolled backwards on top of her. As she lie there, injured, an oncoming truck ran over and killed the woman. Today, if one puts his car in neutral at the bottom of the hill, the old woman will push it to the top.

The same thing happens in Anchorage, Alaska. They also call it gravity hill. No stories from the people, they just say its a gravity point. Put the car in neutral and it slowly went up hill. I was there visiting family and my brothers friend did it to show me, it was cool.

It’s an optical illusion. Just go to Wikipedia and type in “gravity hill.” It gives very in-depth directions for the one in Mooresville. The Wikipedia article explains the illusion very well; it’s definately not a haunted place or anything like that.

The story with the school bus and children IS true. it does happen when u do it. I think it was discovery channel that tried it with the powder and everything.

i do really think that this is true because you have more than one person saying that they went and it happened then a lady a said that if you poured powder on your trunk and you look at it then youll see you own finger prints because of the oil then hy dont someone go and wipe the trunk free from your own fingerprints and then pour powder on it and see what happens!

Well, I live in Anchorage, Alaska. We have a gravity hill. THe story is there was a man who killed a bunch of little kids and commited suicide. The house is right in fron of our gravity hill. It’s said if you piss him off that he’ll come into town and kill you. We’ve actually had three unsolved murders about people who have been jerks when they went to gravity hill. I know it’s an optical illusion of sorts, but it makes you wonder after something like that happens.

I went there last December. I’m not completely convinced. What happened was we showed up the hill and put it in neutral. All we did was go backwards. we were not on the big hill, but we did roll backwards over a smaller hill. First off all, the thing i don’t get is why a little old lady (susan i do believe) would even think she could push a car up that BIG hill. I took one look at and said “hell no.” i think the story has been exagerated a little much. i don’t think it was a gohst. it was pure gravity. =)

I used to live in Mooresville, and I have heard of Gravity Hill. I don’t believe she pushes your car up the hill, though. The way the hill is, makes it an optical illusion. It looks like your going up the hill, when you are really just sitting there.

I do believe this is true because I f**k with it all the time at science central. The tilt of the room makes a weird pull you certianly don’t expect.
