The orphanage has been totally renevated by a family who lives on the property. The building has been constructed to its original colonial beauty. Events and weddings take place regularly. There are now plush gardens where barbed wire fences once stood. It looks nothing like it was before, but there is still an eerie feeling to walk around this gorgous place after hearing horror stories about it all your life.

I’ve heard and read lots of different ghost stories, and lots of them don’t make any sense. They are just a bunch of bullshit stories that people try to scare other people with. But I do travel to lots of places, and lots of them are real. For instance, this story about the Guthrie’s School for Boys is true. I’ve been there countless of times, and I’m even good friends with one of the guards there. He said that he has heard lots of strange noises while patrolling there at night. Those of you who don’t believe this, go check it out for yourself, and ask the people there, because there is definatly some paranormal activity going on around there.

Hi,
I used to frequent the Guthrie Masonic Boy’s Home back when I was younger. First time I went was in 1990. I can honestly say it freaked the hell out of me. When we went, we had no idea the place was even supposedly “haunted”. Afterwards, we used to go there on the weekends when we were bored. The last time I went was during the daytime. There’s a small parking lot in the back. We parked the car and just sat out there for a while, looking in all the windows as people would say they could see faces and movements. Suddenly, we ALL heard music playing (sounded like an old church organ) loudly. We sat there terrified for what must have been 15 to 20 minutes until we decided we had to go in and investigate. As soon as we entered, the music stopped. We ran back to the car and the music started again. VERY creepy. I still have nightmares about that place. The elevator I almost walked into not realizing it was just an empty shaft! The paperwork everywhere dating back to the 1800’s. And the giant empty pool. I’m saddened to hear that it has been renovated and is now occupied. I’d love to go back again and see it as it used to be!

Hey people, I am from Oklahoma City and I used to go to Gutherie all the time when I was younger. The Boys Home is kinda scay but you cant realy get that close to it. When I went there, we saw red lights flashing in alot of the windows, shortly after, we got stop by the police. They gave us a warning and said the red lights were paranormal investigators, or somethin like that. Now the hospital is freakin crazy, we accualy went inside but just for a few minutes. It just dident feel write. We met with a kid that lived n Gutherie, and he told us how to break in and said that someone resently died when they fell through the rotten staircase. It was crazy. If you havent been there, you have to go, theres something wrong about that whole town, somethins not right. If you ask a local about the hauntings, they will get mad and refuse to talk to you.

me and some of my friends about 7 went to the hosptial in guthrie, mainly because we have heard story of people seeing lights turning on and off. and people standing in the window.
well went went there from oklahoma city near mustang. we left at 1230 got there at 130 at night, it was hard to find its off of noble between 20th and 19th. well we got there parked in the neighborhood (mainly because of there is a hotel thingy place that is open 24 so watch it and dont let them see you)
so we got there. there is a building in the back its like the power house and the boiler room and have a guarge and i have to admit it was really chill but creepy because everything was rusty and old. i recomend to find the basment in that place its awsome but watch out its also really easy to cut up your legs if you dont watch where you walk, since there is alot of old **** on the ground.
well the hospital it self is boared shut, and is i do say impossible to get in and we literally tried every window tryed our hardest to get some boards loose. there was one way to get in. the back where that building i was talking about. there is this walking place if you can get on top of that there is this a/c vent that runs to the window but is very shady and would be hard to get out of.
also watch out because the place is just hott with cops.
but here is the stuff that we saw while we there.
number one we drove by and the place just have this looming feeling about it. its like in the movies where thedrive up to the place and the camera goes up and it looks like its the tallest thing in the world.
and also there are lights in the building, in theory the place has been empty more then most people have been alive in that town so they should be burnt out and not on because i mean why.
and also you go up and there will be lights on and then come back and some other lights would be on and some would be off.
like we were trying to find a way in and the 3rd story above the half ground basement so about like 40 feet or so up. and like the light was on. and then we came around again to check some other place and the 2nd story light right below it was on.
well like i could see if a homeless guy was in there but the thing is that place is like shut like a fort and for someone to get in there would have to be a mountian climber to get to the 3rd and 4th story windows which i see impossible so i belive with out a doubt some crazy **** is happening.
i have had friends that have driven up and lights turn on and off in the place and figures or 50’s people in the window.
i swear on my life this place is creepyand haunted and if you get in there i tip my hat and bow to you. and i would like for you to tell me how you did.
but i worn go with alot of people because i swear that you will be scarred but i would do anything to get in there.
if you can get in there i bow down to you its impossible.

The orphange was not just boys it was boys and girls, It was run by the masons. The home had a good history, the reason it was shut down was because the laws changed. Instead of one big orphange they now place children in foster homes to get more of a personal home atmosphere. The property was bought by a family who renovated the entire land and home it is a fabulous home. It is done in a grand way. We did a televison show there the people are gracious. The daughter and her husband have a wedding business in part of the home. The owner is a Prison Builder that is his career. I appreciate the fact they kept the property as original as possible. They even left the play ground equipment in tact as history. There is no eerie feeling. It is warm and inviting. If you are planning an occasion or maybe a wedding check it out.

hey! well i live in a small town just north west of guthrie, and i’ve been in the old boys home. the stories are completely true. it’s the wierdest feeling i’ve ever had. though now, it’s occupied. a very rich man had it redone, it’s beautiful, and him and his family live in it. my brother-in-law helped redo it and he says he’s not scared of anything, and on evening him and his buddies were workin and they kept hearing things. at first the ignored it, but then they heard footsteps and cries and screams. they took off. scary stuff.

I am really, really wanting to check out the two places, the Boys Home and the hospital. I wish I knew someone in Guthrie to help me out in that department. I have wanted to check them out for years. I am somewhat tired of taking tons of orbs pictures in cemeteries. But we do it, still, to capture orbs. I have been interested in proving the afterlife for many years. I know it would scare the poop out of me, but, I need to know. You know? I keep trying to get my husband to go stay at the Stone Lion Inn, and maybe this weekend. Not sure. If anyone has any information of Guthrie hauntings, please email me at babytibbs@hotmail.com. I really want to go check out those places, but I just can’t get arrested. That is some bull****. If only they would give ghost tours. They could make some money! =)
